Luceti Valley - The First Log

Who: Everyone
What: The start of a new experiment... or is it?
When: August 2nd - August 6th
Where: Luceti itself
Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?
Rating: Varies with thread. Please move explicit stuff to appointments post with appropriate warnings.

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

Wha- I'm not going to steal from him! [The last thing she wanted was to be accused of looking for a handout. She doesn't want to just be paid off to stay quiet -- she wants a father. A family. Though maybe that would be asking too much...]

I mean. I don't really want anything from him, you know? I just... want to know him. It's not like mom and I were very close, so... it'd be nice to know what it's like to have a real family for once.

Fine, fine...jeez. Can't take a joke.

[Norma, that was not a joke and you know it. Though at the very least she does have the decency to stop once she's told, and especially since the subject is so important to her friend. Norma knows how having a good family would mean a lot - she can't say that she had wished for one when she was younger herself. Even so, the Starks...jeez. Her opinion of the upper-class has never been the best, and her assumptions of them aren't any better, either. Really, Norma just hopes she's not about to lose her best friend.]

Well, uh...good luck, I guess. [Derp.] I-I mean, I know you'll be super awesome and stuff when you meet with him! Just...check in with us humble low-folk once and a while, okay?

[Please don't forget about her or something.]

[Admittedly she's had at least a few people ask the same thing when she brought it up, so she might be a little defensive on the subject. She relaxes a bit, then frowns.]

What are you even saying, Norma? I-It's not like I'm just gonna forget you! I mean, I'm still the same person, right? And... it's not like they're just going to welcome some Lowtown leech like me into their lives just because Mr. Stark played patty-cake with my mom a few years ago...

[Smiling, Norma tries to mask her distress a little bit better, mentally kicking herself for freaking out her friend already. She's just...not exactly optimistic when it comes to people and heaps of money. And to be the daughter of someone like Tony Stark is a big deal. He's known far and wide across Luceti - and that kind of fame and power changes people...

At least Kari's trying to reassure her, and she does appreciate it. Maybe there really isn't anything to worry about, they have been friends for a long time, after all!]

Right...you're right. You're always gonna be you and that's why I'm sure that flashy Stark guy's gonna fall head over heels for you! He really would be a stuffy tightcoat if he didn't, that's for sure - you've got a lotta stuff people don't see in other people.
