August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Dear. [She says it with the utmost love and affection, and the hint of long-suffering husband-dresser. He should look like a wealthy and worldly business owner, not like he wants to make a shady deal.]

The key to looking your best is to be sure you don't look like you are trying for the best. It just comes naturally to you.

Honey. [He says heartily in return for the sake of saying it since he catches the love and affection in her tone.

And with her bit of advice, back goes the suit and a moments glance at all other choices is taken before he looks back to her again.]

Hm... what would you suggest, then? [Because at the moment, he kind of wants to go back to his first pick. The other suits are just so ordinary.]

[They want ordinary. Ordinary from afar that could become decadent up close, to the properly cultured eye. Nephry moves to a different selection of suits, gravitating toward black because black is the sort of air they want about their establishment.

The jacket she chooses is sharp, though, tailored in and trimmed with real silk at the edges and on the inside - a deep green so dark it might also be black. Nephry lifts an eyebrow in Peony's direction, a visible question mark.]

[Funny how she wants the suit to look ordinary from afar and how the distance he is standing at makes it look it. In fact, it looks a little too ordinary at first, even with the short distance between them and the finer silk trimmed at the edges. His first reaction is to blink and give his own visible question mark look in turn.

But he also really doesn't doubt her taste so he steps closer to inspect the item before passing any real judgement. And the second he has a closer look, he can't hide how impressed he is.]

A jacket isn't the only thing you'll wear, of course. Not in front of so many people. [Gowns tend to be more flashy and showy, even Nephry's most elegant ones, but Peony has to choose between vests and ties and shirts - the waters are harder to navigate. Especially for an eccentric dresser.]

["Not in front of so many people". If only for a second, his mind falls back on the unintentional suggestiveness of that one line and unfortunately his own face doesn't do much to hide the fact either when he smiles cheekily. But he's a guy, can you blame him?

Still able to focus, though, he answers with a nod of approval.]

Yeah, I think so. It's a fascinating piece up close. But you always did know how to pick them. [There's also cravats and bow ties which he can choose from. And now that the suit is decided on, he'll be thinking on one of those two things. What went with black and dark green? Hm...]

[Nephry isn't doing much to hide the connotations of that last bit either.]

Well, I picked you, didn't I? That ought to be credit enough. [She hands the jacket to a nearby salesperson to hold at the counter for them, then leans in to place a kiss on Peony's cheek.]

And I'm truly the luckiest guy in the world to have you~

[He adds when the kiss reaches his cheek. Though even if he was saying it to lay out the flattery, he never doubted that it was with her that the credit of who picked whom belonged. Meanwhile, an arm sneaks around her waist. She was free to move to continue shopping, but if she didn't mind longer public displays of affection he would probably steal a real kiss after the peck on his cheek.]

[Given the choice of moving away to shop or moving closer to kiss, Nephry will choose kissing every time.

[And he's more than happy to oblige!

But first in a teasing, yet playful gesture, he leans down to place a peck on her lips before going for the real thing a half second later.]

[They are kissing in the middle of a clothing boutique and Nephry simply does not care. Well, she cares about the kiss. She doesn't care who sees. Let them look.

When they pull apart she is smiling in that mischievous way again.]

Your tactics to get out of shopping are bolder every week.

[There's a mischievous grin on his face as well. Ahahaha--]

I suppose you're right, but there's always this stunning beauty with me~ How can I focus on shopping when she's got my eye?

What? Are you seeing someone else behind my back?

[Nephry laughs just imagining the "fun" her brother might have with the rumor of such a scandal. Something coming between Peony and her. Please.]

It's all right if you are, I seem to keep inviting this handsome gentleman along wherever I go as well.

[It would be a nightmare if Jade even thought that was possible. Thank goodness Peony can't see the image in her mind and thus continue to not fear someone overhearing their flirty joking around.]

Hm, it's good that I'm with you or I might just be jealous of this handsome gentleman.

This time I didn't have to ask him. [Turning to link an arm through his, Nephry pulls Peony toward the clothes racks again.] Now come on, you've stalled for long enough.

[Allowing himself to be pulled over to the racks again, Peony strengthens the link.]

But we'll pick up where we left off later, right? [And yes, honey, on to the shirts!]

We might have to send Ion out to play first.

[Now at the racks, his free hands brushes over the trousers one by one to find the matching color to the jacket before looking at style.]
