Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.


Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! Far more dangerous than that. Judging by their methods to treat it.

[Which he obviously hasn't felt yet. Most of them haven't, the ones pulled off the streets. They haven't been held down, been forced into convulsions.

And Robert is beginning to hate every one of them who doesn't know. Who doesn't understand how close this place is to Hell.]

. . . mm. Yeah.

[That curt reminder is all Jack needs to remember that he didn't just come here because Sam needs him and is a mess by himself. He came here because Sam was once here for a month, and not a pleasant one, judging by the way he was when he first walked out of the doors and into the Lauchlan family home. He looks down for a minute, then back up, effectively chastised as he offers his hand.]

Sorry. I'm Jack.

[Robert regards the hand with a soft scoff. He doesn't entirely mean to be rude, but it's been a long week. A long, painful week. One that has raised a few too many ghosts for him.

So, he won't participate in the gesture usually followed with "It's nice to meet you." Because it isn't.]

[Jack leaves his hand extended for a few too many awkward, uncomfortable moments, just enough to be sure that the gesture really, definitely isn't being returned, before awkwardly curling his fingers closed and dropping it back into his lap. It leaves him with nothing, that veneer of unruffled cheer and prattle being so coolly rebuffed, and he everts his eyes more soundly this time.]

[Apparently being a complete dick is considered a form of insanity these days. Jack bristles as the failed effort at socialization fails to quietly die and is instead whipped back at him, bewildered and defensive as he snaps back.]

Jesus, I was just saying hi, okay? Killing some of this free freaking time. [He huffs a breath through his nose, slouching lower against the wall.] Sorry to interrupt your important wandering-around-in-pyjamas business.
