Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.


Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! [He shrugs helplessly.]

Fire?

[He makes an uncertain face.]

[An extended pause - and then he brightens up.]

Neat-o! And easy to remember. Way to go, daddy-o!

...I think you should leave the "hip lingo" to someone else, Aang.

[Now that's figured out...]

Where to next?

[lasthairbender]

Sure! You seem a lot hipper than me, after all.

So... how about... I don't know. Maybe we should head think of a friend or family member and try to head there to see if they're okay?

[twodragons]

[Zuko lets out an amused "hmph" at being referred to as hip, but the rest of the matter is serious.]

I don't have any family. Just my dog.

[For a moment, something about this rings wrong, but it soon passes.]

I'd like to see if I could find her, though.

[lasthairbender]

[He nods.]

A doggy can be like family, too, Zuko, and there's nothing wrong with that. But where do you think she is? We can try to find her!

[twodragons]

I don't know. We split up when the cops were after me. We have some usual places we meet up at, but she could be anywhere in this mess.

[lasthairbender]

Then... let's try checking one of those places! Maybe we'll find her.

[twodragons]

...Yeah. This way first, then.

[And he veers off down an alleyway without waiting.]

[He quickly runs after him, while giving an uncertain whisper.]

Be careful! It's an alleyway!

[twodragons]

You think I don't know that??

[Come on, kid. He's been living on these streets for years. He thinks.]

[savedtheworld]

Just making sure! I don't see any muggers anyway. I mean, not counting you!

[twodragons]

Hey. I'm not a mugger. [He stops to point a finger at Aang, making sure he recognizes the difference.]

I trick people out of their money. I don't beat them up for it.

[lasthairbender]

Oh - sorry! [He pauses as well to give a sheepish nod.] I didn't know the difference. But now I do!

[twodragons]

Yes, now you do.

[Any comment on Aang getting his money back? Nope, because it's not gonna happen.]

[savedtheworld]

[He won't press it; Zuko probably needed the money. And he was able to give Katara a good time at the dance with what he had left over. But now he focuses on keeping up running.]

We're really learning a lot, huh, Zuko? It's a good part of becoming friends!

[twodragons]

Yeah... Guess we are.

[As annoying as this kid is, it feels as if they should be friends already, which is weird.]

Yes! I'm glad to hear that.

Are we there yet?

Almost.

And anyway, if we don't see her we'll have to try somewhere else.

Right-o. We won't give up that easily!

No. We most definitely won't.
