Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Who: Everyone
What: The second part of the experiment. Things begin to unravel.
When: August 7th - August 10th
Where: Luceti itself
Summary: Check out the mod post for more. This covers Day 6-9!
Rating: Varies with thread. Please move explicit stuff to appointments post with appropriate warnings.

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.

Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! If you have questions, direct them here.

I can't take off. If I leave those idiots to fend for themselves, the building will be a smoldering wreck when I return. [He rubs his face. Nothing made sense.]

If everyone's a mess, is that including you?
aerialassault: (serious -- ain't time to mess around)

[personal profile] aerialassault 2013-08-26 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I...don't think anyone's gonna care at this rate.

[The tax hike was brutal on himself and his family, people were staging protests rather than actually working, and Cliff knew that it wasn't just the factory workers. He knew that there were dissidents everywhere. Odds were that the building would be understaffed for the next few days.

He groaned and took a deep drink from his glass.]

I wouldn't say I'm really a 'mess'. I'm just noticing things that don't seem right, but it's too early to fly off the handle 'bout them. I'll do what's needed when it's needed, but I'm not gonna jump the wagon like the rest of these guys.
misterbrief: (Shaving sucks)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-08-26 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Always the relaxed type, Cliff. You never jump the gun ever on things. [Honestly, Cliff was probably the single most level-headed person he knew.]

Perhaps you're right. I'm certainly not taking off from work, but it seems jumping to conclusions isn't doing myself or anyone else a lot of good at the current moment. [He's lying. He's going to brood about it.]

Still, I can't imagine going home right now. Nor do I know what I'd say to Bulma.

Don't be so sure about that...

[He still had a fly away temper when in the moment...but he had learned to be very rational over the years. It was why he had come as far as he has.]

We're all a little wild on some level. It never changes as you get older, either.

Who said you needed to go home tonight anyway? I'm sure Bulma'll understand a little, since things are so whack right now.
misterbrief: (you're serious?)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-08-28 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
A little wild? Perhaps that doesn't change for some. [He'd never admit that even he had a side like that.] And where exactly would I go tonight if not home? I don't exactly keep a whole lot of friends, if you can imagine.
aerialassault: (confident -- you gotta deal)

[personal profile] aerialassault 2013-08-28 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Of course Vegeta wouldn't.]

I dunno. [Cliff brought his glass up again.] You could just stay out here drinking with me.
misterbrief: (So what.)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-08-29 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Ofc not.]

[But color him surprised. No one asks him to ever stay out and keep someone company. The farthest that's ever gone was keeping new clients or business partners happy.]

Thanks but no thanks. I'm at a point that I might start blabbering about things that I'll regret tomorrow morning.
aerialassault: (confident -- cool under fire)

[personal profile] aerialassault 2013-08-29 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Cliff grinned slyly over the edge of his glass.]

It's too late for regrets.

I think you've already incriminated yourself a good bit tonight...but, don't worry. I'll keep your dirty little secrets just that. A secret.

misterbrief: (Oh look two androids.)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-08-30 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
[That makes him a little nervous. What had he said that had incriminated himself at all? He's too far gone to remember, but the fact still remains he feels that Cliff will keep his word.

Which thankfully, causes him to relax. He's been tense enough.]

Perhaps I will then. Stay out for a bit. Bulma will think I'm out late at the office anyhow. [He orders another. He might be drunk but he can definitely handle more. No where near his limit.]

[Vegeta had indeed incriminated himself, at least in Cliff's eyes. The admission that he didn't feel entirely human was notable itself, even if Cliff knew that he sympathized on some level. It simply sounded right.

He set his glass down and leaned back in his chair, staring up at the dingy ceiling in the smokey little room.]

It ain't such a bad thing right now. Staying out. Honestly, I've gotta hunch that it might be once of the safest things we can do for our families right now.

But, that's just me.

[the bullshit cutter runs strong, even without his memories.]
