Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.


Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! I guess. I wouldn't of known about it if I hadn't heard that it was. [She taps her chin for a moment.]

I know this might sound a little awful? But I think it's a good idea if you practice with that a little more and see if there's anything else you can do. That's not the first run in I've had with the authorities, and they mean business today.

I could guess that. If people are being thrown through buildings, nothing's gonna be peaceful about today.

[...he doesn't know if he likes the sound of that. Instinct is to find his wife and mother, and hide them. What the hell is ever going on around here?]

[She nervously rubs her arm. He's more correct than he even realizes.]

No, it really isn't. I... [She pauses, because really she can't thank him enough-] thanks again. Listen, you should keep your head down just in case. They'll be looking for me again but next time I'll be ready for them. Do what you need to do now, alright?

[endgames]

[Keep his head down. Yes, keep his head down. That's the smart thing to do, and he nods along.

Nods. Nods... Nods until something surges in him, and he has to shake his head.

Smart doesn't mean it's right.]

No. What I need to do is get involved. For once in my life, this isn't something I can just sit on the sidelines for.

[Yuuna can understand. She didn't want to see this young man get hurt, but if he's deadset on doing something about it? She won't stop him.

Gently, Yuuna goes to rest a hand on his shoulder. The seriousness in her tone is anything but restricted when she speaks again.]

Their power is nothing like I thought any normal people could manage. Luckily we had our own abilities to counter it, but if they find you dangerous enough, they will try to kill you. I'm just giving you a fair warning, ok? It' not right, I agree...but we're not sure what to do. Saori seems to think because the police are under Mayor Zompano, that he might have something to do with all of this. We're planning on making a visit to him later, in fact.

[endgames]

[He meets her eyes, taking in everything she's saying. He's not sure if he believes her, just yet... But it's words he'll definitely recall later, when he's at the asylum.

Speaking of that.]

The police, I get, but what about the asylum? There's something weird going on there, I know it.

[She bites her lip. She hadn't thought of that.] Well, since they were trying to drag me in that direction? You're probably right. I bet those people in there aren't crazy at all...if I didn't know any better I'd say we were the crazy ones now, with what's been happening!

[And if they weren't? Man, what a mess that was going to be.]
