Luceti Valley - The Second Log
Who: Everyone
What: The second part of the experiment. Things begin to unravel.
When: August 7th - August 10th
Where: Luceti itself
Summary: Check out the mod post for more. This covers Day 6-9!
Rating: Varies with thread. Please move explicit stuff to appointments post with appropriate warnings.
Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.
Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...
On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.
Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! If you have questions, direct them here.

this thread definitely occurs AFTER he visits minato & kushina
He is very, very far from alright.
He doesn't even know what the fuck just happened, and how he had known by instinct, what to do. Or how he would know that grabbing the handlebars and skidding across the ground would have a lower chance of killing him than an attempt to jump out of the way when he knew he wouldn't be fast enough (resulting in an injury).
Kakashi's pretty bruised up, but nothing he can't handle. He doesn't think he's injured seriously, anyway. As far as he can tell, his back doesn't seem to be bleeding, even if his clothes are in a disarray, some parts shredded. Though his palms are scraped raw and he suffered quite a few contusions to the back and legs, and his feet are burning, he knows he's lucky to be alive and only just slightly banged up a bit.
He shakes his head. ]
I'm fine.
[ The words come out almost instinctively. Second nature. They feel a little too comfortable in his mouth.
(His fingers won't stop shaking in his pockets, and he's trying not to breathe too quickly or risk hyperventilating. Trying to breathe as slowly and evenly as he can.) ]
Re: this thread definitely occurs AFTER he visits minato & kushina
Dude, you are not fine! No one is fine after nearly getting run over.
[ He looked back at the bike and the damage around it, his chest freezing as it really struck him that he had nearly killed someone. He had a fiance to think of, a son. God, if he had killed this man, if the other hadn't... Oh Jesus.
He coughed to hide the swell of panic and nerves, wiping his mouth with his sleeve and fidgeting with his is goggles. Anything to keep himself moving and not about what could have happened.
What should have happened. ]
W-what are you, some sort of super human like out of those dime-store comic books?
no subject
It certainly wasn't some kind of superhuman power, or even muscle memory. It was something else entirely. Some kind of deep-rooted instinct to fight instead of running away, maybe.
Kakashi's not sure, and he's surprised that he doesn't have any broken bones. Probably even more than the man who almost just ran him over. ]
No. I just got lucky.
[ He could have died, but he's still standing here in one piece, for the most part. And he's not even broken. Banged up, sure, and he's going to be sore from head to toe and feel like he's broken tomorrow, certainly. And his entire back will probably be black and blue. But. He's alive, and that's what matters. ]
no subject
Lucky, yeah, but not fine. Come on. We can get a cab, I'll pay.
[ He didn't trust himself to drive the bike, not now. He didn't want this guy on the back and to have another episode. They might not be so "lucky" as he put it. A cab would be safer and he could leave the bike parked up for now. ]
Come on, I just... I'll feel better if you get checked out.
no subject
That won't be necessary. I'm fine.
[ Physically, anyway. ]

[ Kirk gave him an odd look, a worried look. He was scared for himself and for Kakashi. What happened? Why had it happened? Why did he feel like neither of them should have been where they were and they were different from what they should be? Why did he suddenly think he knew the other's name, like he'd met him before? ]
At least... let me put ice on you or something. I have some back at the shop. Ice and a pop. Least I can do, to say sorry.
no subject
Alright. Though, we can skip the pop.
[ He doesn't much like sweet things, after all. ]
But if you have any Scotch or whiskey, I wouldn't mind a drink.
[ Especially after what just happened, Kakashi can use a drink. ]
no subject
Yeah, a stash in the office. Don't tell the guys though, I kind of keep it for the special occasions, when we finish a girl.
[ He went back and got his bike, kicking up the stand and wheeling the Harley over, regarding Kakashi. ]
If you want to ride, I'm all for, but like I said, I'll pay for a cab.
no subject
I think a cab may be a better idea.
[ ...and what did he mean by finishing a girl...? ]
no subject
Okay. Tell them to bring you around to my shop.
[ He rattled off the name and address, mounting the bike. ]
I'll wait for you at the curb to pay the driver.

[ As promised, Kirk handed over the cash to the driver to pay for the ride, then motioned Kakashi to follow him inside. They were alone, the others gone for the day or out to lunch. Kirk wasn't sure. With the doors open and light flowing in, the motorcycles they were working on gleamed, powerful beasts built with care and grace.
He ducked into his office, coming out a moment later with a wrapped bottle, two glasses with a bit of dust on the outside, and a rag. He set the glasses and bottle down, going to his ice box and chipping some ice off and wrapping it in the towel and offering it to him. ]
Welcome to my shop, by the way. Name's Kirk.
no subject
[ Kakashi nods as he takes the offered ice and holds it between his hands. The coolness of the ice seeping through the towel is soothing, and he's glad he ended up taking Kirk up on his offer after all.
A quick glance around the shop more or less explains what Kirk meant by "girls." The bikes, naturally, are female. So "finishing a girl" meant finishing a bike.
Kakashi's ridden a few during his stint in the military, but since his discharge, he hasn't had the opportunity to ride. The ones in Kirk's shop are really works of art, and he quietly admires them as he turns the chunk of ice in his hands. ]
How long have you been working on bikes?
no subject
Since I was a kid, really. My uncle had some, and I would go out there, tinker. My first one was a junker I fixed up myself, and it just went out from there. I built the Harley myself, actually, and I do custom work.
[ He got out more ice, tipped some into the glasses, and then poured a rich, amber liquid into each glass. Corking the bottle, he brought over one of the snifters, setting it down near Kakashi for when he was ready to grab it, taking a sip from his own, the liquid burning nicely, just a bit. ]
I also do all the upkeep work on them, since half the people who buy them don't know how to properly ride the poor things.
no subject
[ Kakashi always just assumed that riding a motorcycle wasn't exactly like chemistry -- or at least, in his experience riding during the military, it certainly wasn't. But they didn't have nice bikes like these.
He nods in thanks for the drink and reaches over, tugging it towards him and raising it up to his mouth, nudging up the medical mask covering his face from the bottom enough to take a sip. ]
no subject
Of course there is! Those yuppies up the hill know nothing and half the time they come in for maintenance and it's stuff they could prevent if they gave a crap about their form!
[ He threw his hands up in exasperation, a true believer facing someone who knew nothing of his religion. He shook his head and tossed back more of his drink to calm himself and then gave the other a wry expression. ]
Sorry, just... you put your heart and soul into building something beautiful, it sucks when someone takes it and doesn't really appreciate it or use it right.
