Summary: With Zompano dead and the cultists routed, Luceti is restored. Kind of.

On the eleventh, things were slowly breaking down. Memories of their true lives were breaking through. The village, scarred by the battle with the cultists, began to rebuild itself. Community buildings that had vanished were returned to their rightful places. The battle dome was uncovered from the earth that had covered it. Hundreds and hundreds of fake homes slowly faded away. Paved roads gave way to trees and grass. It was an incredible sight for anyone who was willing to sit aroun and watch it happen.

Things wouldn't be easy for the villagers, though. The memories perpetuated by the last ten days would not be easily removed. The feelings and hatreds it had created would take time to conquer and remove. Perhaps, in a way, that was Zompano's nastiest trick of all. The village itself may heal from his invasion, but it would take far more than a few Shifts to fix the people left behind.

Towards the end of the day, their wings returned. Much like some of the buildings, they seemed to just reappear, as if they had never been gone. Their barcodes became visible again as a singular reminder that they were, ultimately, just the property of another entity who as a whole were not much better than Count Zompano.

By the twelfth, the village looked as though nothing had ever happened. Sure, the contents of buildings might have been messed up or destroyed during the battles, but things were otherwise as they were supposed to be. The night before, people would have had to find their old beds to go sleep in, as they no longer possessed the old ones granted to them in another life.

The village was peaceful.

Modly Note: That wraps up the event. As noted in the prose above, you have the option to play up the after effects of the event more than in other ones. While it won't have the same impact universally, the Shift was constructed in such a way that people may have difficulty shaking off the emotions they developed during the event. In effect, it was a cruel send off to Luceti so they would have to deal with the loathing and hatred that came with the less desirable parts of it. Of course, that means the feelings of familial bonds will also persist for awhile as well. It's up to you, as players, to decide how much or little to play with it!

[Saori can't help but snort a laugh] I've never really worried about money either. I own treasures at home that are beyond valuable, so whenever money becomes an issue, I just go into my vault and sell some trinket. You'd be surprised how much money people will pay for a sword forged four hundred years ago.

You've mentioned this company before. Your wife's right? What does she sell, that makes it so profitable?

I won't say that humans don't have a strange fascination with artifacts that don't hold any power whatsoever. [He shrugs, he's never been a historian and won't ever claim to be.]

Yes, it's a company that specializes in advanced technology. Their claim is a product called DynoCaps, allowing one to carry around ridiculous things such as cars, spaceships, and other large things in your pocket. If you can think of it, I guarantee it's been engineered into a small little capsule.

Well, in this case it's sheer rarity and tradition. A lot of the old swords were melted down during a war between some human nations. They're a symbol of family and power, so some people still want them. Mostly fools who've never held one before, but still.


[That gets a blink]

Huh. That's...certainly fascinating. Is there a way to get them back into the capsule?

Part of the design is a button located somewhere on the object that makes it...poof back into the capsule. I can't describe it any better than that. [Because Dragon Ball land is fucking magic and they don't even know it]

I know it sounds strange but it does work. There isn't anything my wife can't invent, and more often than not comes up with a lot of ideas and machines that help us in battle.

I've seen stranger things, but they all worked through magic. Men becoming bison, mountains growing legs to fight, even bears suddenly sprouting wings.

[America is a strange ass place...]

But technology like that sounds marvelous.

Two of those aren't as strange as you think, but mountains suddenly sprouting legs is a new one. Though it doesn't do any good when you're made of a substance that shatters just as easily as glass. [Well, maybe for him.]

But yes, it is. Do you remember when I told you about my tail and how it would help me achieve a new level of power if I had it? Well, that very technology allowed me to possess it for a short time. It regrew it back, but unfortunately here, I don't have access to such a machine.

Oh, I think that Uncle Jiwari would be able to fight on an even keel with you. Heh, you might even enjoy sparring with Uncle Bishamonten.

[But something about that exchange draws her attention.]

You're missing a body part? Well...I know someone who had a leg regrown here.

[She smiles, nodding]

If they ever come to Luceti, I'm sure they'd love to. Once...they've rampaged at the barrier for a month or two.

[She raises an eyebrow at his reaction though.]

They did. With a Shift. Why?

Don't you realize? That means...that means there's a possibility that I could be in possession of my tail once more! [This is the only time you will ever, ever see him this happy. RELISH IT. HE'S LIKE, ALMOST GIDDY. In a Vegeta way.]

What does that mean, exactly?

[misterbrief]

That means I can achieve a form far more powerful than what you witnessed on the draft! Nothing could touch me, it may even hold the power to breaking through that blasted barrier! The difference from what I possess now to what I could have is staggering! [If he were normally a happy guy he'd be bouncing up and down in his chair.]

[Give her a minute to process. Because let's face it, Vegeta talks about power a lot without really understanding what power is. Fighting power is one thing, but real power...that's not something she's really sure he has. At least, by her definition of the word.

But he seems so giddy...]

What sort of form is this?

[misterbrief]

[He grins. So glad you asked.]

It's only the single most powerful level of strength a Saiyan can reach on their own. I'm sure I've mentioned it to you before but we hold the power at our very fingertips to destroy entire worlds. If I wanted to, I could annihilate the universe as we know it, and then some. [But he won't do that?]

I merely need my tail returned to me to reattain such a state. And with it, I'll find a way around these tricks our foes play on us. I'd like to see if the barrier can hold against true Saiyan might.

[windandrain]

[Saori represses a giggle, only smiling quietly to herself. More fighting power. Of course...

but it could be interesting to see, still.]

I'd like to see that, then. Does it change your shape, or only your hair again?

[He's still shooting a confident smile, leaning back in his chair as he thinks of how to describe it to her.]

Hm. We retain our shape as you see it now, save that part of our body transforms into something similar to the mighty Oozaru, a horrific form that was feared throughout the galaxy for its destructive force. [He is purposely avoiding saying 'ape' or 'monkey'.] You'll be able to feast your eyes on it soon enough.

So you look like a person, but...[Oozaru...] I didn't know you spoke Japanese, Vegeta.

[misterbrief]

I don't. Why, did I say something in Japanese? [He's preeeeeetty sure he didn't. Oh how wrong he is...]

Yes...Oozaru means Great Ape. Or King...Ape, or Strongest Ape...depending on how you want to translate it.

[She avoids the word monkey too, thinking perhaps he might take that the wrong way.]

Does your form look anything like that? Some sort of spirit beast?

[misterbrief]

[He is...ok with how she described it.]

The form I speak of is similar. The upper half of my body is that of an ape, which takes a turn from our original transformation. That being a colossal ape at least a hundred feet tall.

[JUST GUNNA...LEAVE OUT THE USE OF SAID FORM...YEP]

It's not so much as a spirit beast as it is a simple transformation, just as when my hair and eyes change. [Because a crab is Vegeta's spirit animal mon]
