Summary: With Zompano dead and the cultists routed, Luceti is restored. Kind of.

On the eleventh, things were slowly breaking down. Memories of their true lives were breaking through. The village, scarred by the battle with the cultists, began to rebuild itself. Community buildings that had vanished were returned to their rightful places. The battle dome was uncovered from the earth that had covered it. Hundreds and hundreds of fake homes slowly faded away. Paved roads gave way to trees and grass. It was an incredible sight for anyone who was willing to sit aroun and watch it happen.

Things wouldn't be easy for the villagers, though. The memories perpetuated by the last ten days would not be easily removed. The feelings and hatreds it had created would take time to conquer and remove. Perhaps, in a way, that was Zompano's nastiest trick of all. The village itself may heal from his invasion, but it would take far more than a few Shifts to fix the people left behind.

Towards the end of the day, their wings returned. Much like some of the buildings, they seemed to just reappear, as if they had never been gone. Their barcodes became visible again as a singular reminder that they were, ultimately, just the property of another entity who as a whole were not much better than Count Zompano.

By the twelfth, the village looked as though nothing had ever happened. Sure, the contents of buildings might have been messed up or destroyed during the battles, but things were otherwise as they were supposed to be. The night before, people would have had to find their old beds to go sleep in, as they no longer possessed the old ones granted to them in another life.

The village was peaceful.

Modly Note: That wraps up the event. As noted in the prose above, you have the option to play up the after effects of the event more than in other ones. While it won't have the same impact universally, the Shift was constructed in such a way that people may have difficulty shaking off the emotions they developed during the event. In effect, it was a cruel send off to Luceti so they would have to deal with the loathing and hatred that came with the less desirable parts of it. Of course, that means the feelings of familial bonds will also persist for awhile as well. It's up to you, as players, to decide how much or little to play with it!

Hm, well, I don't play often, so the only one I have any significant experience with is solitaire. But I don't think that's the answer you're looking for.

Well it's not a terrible answer, but not really. I'd been working on making a new card game a while ago, and you'd make a good test dummy for it.

[She raises an eyebrow at that, though there are memories that tell her that she should be used to Haruhi springing ideas like that on her.] Oh? What does it entail?

It's a simple revised version of a card game about Luceti I started on years ago! [She claps her hands together, self-pleased] This one's got less childishness involved and it should also have a deeper level of gameplay. I'm mostly using placeholders now, but It's not bad.

That does sound intriguing. So the cards involved aren't what one would find in an ordinary deck?

Oh, of course not. I'm basing it on all those trading card games the boys played as kids. I was pretty good at them too, actually.

[With some pride. Making all the boys cry]

I see... I can't say I'm too familiar with that concept either.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'd get the hang of it fast. You're smart and you ever do something like... I don't know, a role playing game or even a board game? Just think of it like that, but with cards.

... well, probably not quite like that, but I think I get the idea.

[A beat and] ...So do you have any of those designs in your head still?

Oh - those? A few, I think. ... Well, I've been trying not to think too hard about them, but they're there. [After all the chaos, and reaching that part of the city where the store stood and then watching it all vanish...] I also had a few pages left that didn't disappear, though I just put them away. [For all she knows, they might have evaporated too.] Why do you ask?

Because... I'm curious, really. Well, that and I think I probably have some use for them.

Well, it might be nice to have them still... exist, I suppose.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. [But then, more honestly, she looks at her glass and...] ...Shiki was my best friend - here in Luceti, I mean. [She feels the need to correct that, but then feels weird that she did, anyway] And she ran All Passions. Rhyme is trying to keep it up, but she's no Shiki. So I'd like to run those designs... there. Maybe just a few.

It must be a lot of work for her. [And she knows that shop hasn't been the same since Shiki left... hm.] Well, you've convinced me. I'll pass along what I have, and anything new that might come to mind.

Thank you! [She claps her hands together and does a little half bow, smiling] And yeah, it's probably too much for her, honestly. But Shiki told her to, so she is.

As long as she's happy trying to do it. If there's something else she'd rather pursue, she shouldn't have to feel bound to that path.

Given her current problems lately, I assume she's going at it because she likes doing it. Or she's stupid, but Rhyme isn't stupid.

No, she isn't. But she might think that she has to take the burden no matter what.

Well, they are both from Tokyo.

So you might have to get her to speak her own mind in another way. So she can be true to what she really might desire for herself.

Yeah, that's fair. I'll bug her about it when I give her the designs.

Good. Remember, she may want it, but if she doesn't, at least it gives her a chance to find out what she really might want. Especially in a place like this.

I will, I will. She's been here long enough to figure something out at least. Even if it's not as long as you. ...Or me. [She's been here longer than Raine, right? She's not 100% positive though ]

Perhaps so. Although, if she hasn't been thinking about it, the amount of years might not matter. They can sneak up on you, after all.
