He didn't know what to make of her expression, but he couldn't shake the feeling he'd done something very wrong, and by accident. "Serpents are also very wise. And they know magic. That's why mother likes them. So it's probably just because you're wise and the serpents will protect you and... what did I say wrong I'm really sorry."

He turns the phone to stop the recording, turns up the volume, then shows it to Loki again, pressing play so he can see and hear himself repeat the message.]

It also gave him a good idea of what Loki's been up to and that someone's caring for him, which is a relief.]
