Day 2!

[Etsuko's eyes met his and she let out an unsteady little whimper. This person...he knew her? From before the hospital? He was a friend? She looked away quickly, not wanting to see the hurt in his eyes. When he stepped closer the birds all turned to face him, giving him a dark glance before flapping away and settling on a nearby roof to watch.

The woman doesn't rise, but she doesn't move away. The idea of it all just...it's so confusing.]

I'm...sorry. I don't remember anything from before a week or two ago. I woke up in a hospital, and moved in with my nurse after a few days. She calls me Etsuko, but I-I don't know my real name.

[She scrubs her face in her hands before looking up at him again, her dark eyes plaintive. Maybe she shouldn't be so trusting, but then...everything that'd happened since the kami abducted her was so confusing. Maybe he really did? People didn't look so hurt for strangers.]

What did you say it was? Who...who am I?

Loki gave her a sideways look. "I've been riding since I was four," he scoffed.

[He steps forward with his chest huffed up confidently and hands over one of the posters that Ikki has embellished.]

I believe that I have learned a lot.

He rolled his eyes. "I ride very well." Then he gave her a narrow-eyed look. "And if he's my horse, you can hardly tell me I'm not allowed to ride him."

Day 2 or 3!

Well... [He rubs at his head uncertainly, as if he'd never considered that question before.] I don't know, really. I never saw someone... become an airbender before! Everyone I know, they've just always been airbenders!

[The air scooter dies down as it hits him, and he slumps down to the ground.]

I think you're able to take care of yourself, yes. I'm not exactly in a position to take care of anyone anyway. [She knew so little about the real world, she could only hope to take care of herself, really.]

But people don't have friends just so someone will take care of them, do they? [Elizabeth has read so many stories for great friendships, but none of them included friendships where one person was only in it to be taken care of.]

It can be hard... to heal feelings. Sometimes you can try to talk to the people who hurt you, to try to make things better. Or you can just... move along. Try to find or do something that would make you happy. [That's what Aang picked. He ran away.]

[Aang is usually her height, so it's mildly startling to see him so small - at least she had been given some warning to his new state, and otherwise he looks mostly the same. So many young faces ...

She's adding a touch of color to one of her own signs with a crayon provided by Ikki when the little bender scoots by. Hmm.]
