Where: The Happiest Place on the Moon, Malnosso World!
Summary: So you remember all those times Luceti was transformed into Luceti Land? Welcome to Malnosso World, Luceti Land's bigger, cooler brother. Be sure to keep all hands inside the rides at all times, and refer to your map if you get lost. Trust me, you'll get lost.

Oh, no. Very few of them, actually. It's...draining to go around with no Psynergy at all, even when I don't do anything strenuous. [One hand taps her chin a few times.] I have tried my hand at all the gambling. It isn't too hard.

[ Ororo looks at Mia with some surprise. She hadn't expected her, of all people, to be good at gambling! ]

Well, you have good reason to return to that area, then, don't you? [ She shakes her head, smiling. ] But which ones haven't you seen yet, Mia? If you're up for a little exploring, perhaps I will go with you.

I might have a reason.

[That will rest where it lies. Mia points to the map of Thrill Land.]

This morning, I was there with Kurt. It's very...busy and everything makes your stomach turn over.

[ Ahh, Thrill Land. Ororo smiles wryly. ]

As is the nature of most amusement parks, I believe.

Did you enjoy yourself? I know Kurt has been having the time of his life.

We don't have anything like this, though I've seen the, ah, version that we had in Luceti. It's...interesting. I learned a lot about what I should not ride.

[ Ororo nods sagely. ]

I would steer clear of the one they call the Orbiter, I think. Even for a thrill ride, it sounds a little too over the top. [ What an understatement. ]

I already told him I wouldn't ride that. [A shudder runs through her.] Even being up here, with the dark sky above us...it's so unsettling. It reminds me of being on that draft.

[calmbeforethe]

[ Ororo's expression turns a bit serious. ] I heard about that, when you were up here on the moon to fight. I'm sorry; being back here must not be easy, then.

It's gotten easier in the past few days. I don't feel as threatened by not being able to breathe. [Still, her hands are restless, tugging at the hem of her shirt.][It took her long enough to pick up that word from her housemates.]

[ Ororo gives her a small, sympathetic smile. ]

... Well, then. I know it is not a solution, but perhaps you can come up with some happier memories of this place, to go with the old. [ Ororo gets up, taking her drink with her. ] I've not been everywhere yet, would you like to come along and help me explore?

I suppose I don't mind. Staying in our...ah, guesthouse, feels a lot like intruding on private matters.

[She is sure Ororo knows what she means. Mia picks up her drink to follow.]

Where did you plan to go?

[ Ororo knows exactly what she means, though she usually steers clear from Mia's villa for different reasons. ]

Hmm. Perhaps the Halloween area? I was at the Cartoon Land just yesterday, with Laura. While interesting, it's very... Well, it's a bit tiring.

Cartoon? The things Kurt watches on your television?

[It is not Mia's television.]

Staying away from something like that sounds like a great plan.

[ Ororo just laughs quietly. ]

Halloween Land it is, then. It's only fitting, anyway, given the season.

Is Halloween always a frightening experience in your home? The first time it happened to me, I was a- a spirit.

[calmbeforethe]

Not so, actually. It is more of a commercially-driven holiday, in my experience. Full of dressing up in costumes, not always scary, and giving children more sweet treats than any other time of the year.

I'm sure you made a lovely-looking spirit however, Mia. Unless that was not the intent?

I prefer to just remain myself, if you please. Changing into something else against my will isn't on my list of fun things to do.

[One can tell she's been living with them for a while in phrases like that.]

I do not think it is on anyone's list of things to do. [ Ororo chuckles. She can tell Mia's picking up a few things and it's pretty endearing. ] But let us hope that that is the worst that they can send our way.

[Mia has no response to that. There are many worse things. This "vacation" or whatever it is, it's not the place to talk about them.

She just quietly gets on the proper train.]

[ And Ororo gets into the train with her. And because the trains are so efficient here, soon enough they're stepping back out onto the stop for Halloween Land.

Ororo takes a few moments to look at all the gaudy decorations. ]

Well, as ever, the Malnosso do nothing halfheartedly.

[Mia passes her hand through some fake cobweb, making a face. A plastic spider with a goofy face dangles from the cottony web.]

I'm not so sure about that.
