Summary: So you remember all those times Luceti was transformed into Luceti Land? Welcome to Malnosso World, Luceti Land's bigger, cooler brother. Be sure to keep all hands inside the rides at all times, and refer to your map if you get lost. Trust me, you'll get lost.

[Jack and shifts have not always been the best of friends - in fact, they may actually be his least favourite thing about Luceti. There's something unsettling about knowing how thoroughly and deeply he can be changed, tricked, or just messed around with. But there's a weird, voyeuristic temptation to hang around the shift zones and watch other people get messed with, especially once he sees that the effects are not only temporary but negligible just by taking a quick jog to the front gates.

Plus, there are these amazing oversized roast turkey legs at the food carts. He's just getting out of line with one and a similarly oversized soda when he nearly bumps into a somewhat shorter park-goer, weaving out of the way at the last minute.]

[Poland is just out of the gender-bender shift zone, and, well... To be perfectly honest, it'd be hard to tell even if you knew him well beforehand. Same blond hair (long for a boy, short for a girl), same face, and basically the same build, give or take a little extra curvature around the hips. The biggest difference to Poland is that it had knocked a couple of inches off of his height, lowering the bar for people to be considered tall (and inexplicably terrifying because of it.)]

[He wants, honestly, to spend a little more time enjoying getting to dress up, but he doesn't really have enough chest for things to fit all that differently, and being short is starting to get to him, so he's on his way to change back when he nearly knocks into someone.]

[Looking up, he's briefly struck dumb with terror. The urge to just flee comes on strong, and he spends a moment wishing intensely that Lithuania were there to hide behind. When he can react again, he shakes his head, putting his hands on his hips and trying to cover up how afraid he is with... well, more sass than anger, really.]

Hey, what's your deal? Look where you're going!

[There's less offence than simple haplessness in Jack's tone, and mostly because of the look he's initially given and how absolutely dumbfounded it leaves him. He's not really a scary guy, he doesn't think. Hell, he can't even think of that many times he's been intimidating. So yeah, that's an extremely weird feeling. Add onto that the way he can't figure out what the heck is going on with this person's voice (because while he realizes that not everyone else is going to be from England, there's some combination of accent and tone that's just weird there) or body language (which is cute but in a really really ambiguous way) or . . . yeah, basically anything else.]

[Yeah, the combination of a distinctly Eastern European accent and weirdly American word choice probably baffles a lot of people, and that's before you consider how incredibly anachronistic the Valley Girl thing is--which might be evident in his choice of adorable, folksy peasant dress.]

[He bites his lip nervously, trying really hard to rein in his panic--the fact of the matter is he wasn't great with strangers before becoming irrationally terrified about tall people, so he's not too sure what to say. But the guy is obviously trying to apologize and be helpful, which while nice, takes away anger as a coping option and leaves him unsure what to say or how to hide how scared he is.]

I'm totally fine! I-I mean, like... Like, I'm not hurt, but seriously, be more careful?

Yeah, all right, got it. Extremely careful.

[He nods agreement, hoping to either placate or at least settle down the girl who's still looking at him like he's going to hit her or something, though it leaves a lingering awkwardness between them once he's apologised yet again. Especially as, on a quick glance, he can't see a way to stroll off that isn't through a shift zone.]

I'm, ah. I'm Jack, by the way. Hi.

[He decides, ultimately, on using the same tool for this that he does for almost every problem, which is to say, he decides to fall back on dogged force of will. In fairness, when all you have is a hammer...]

[It's at least enough to help him force a smile, if one that lacks the boldness he prefers to show with people he isn't comfortable with.]
