Summary: So you remember all those times Luceti was transformed into Luceti Land? Welcome to Malnosso World, Luceti Land's bigger, cooler brother. Be sure to keep all hands inside the rides at all times, and refer to your map if you get lost. Trust me, you'll get lost.

[Such potential for fun to be had. And now she's wrangled herself a guide! Mission accomplished.]

You're the expert on fun, you tell me. What ride's good for a first-timer?

Well, that depends. Do you wanna start off on easy, medium, or screaming-your-head-off?

[scootch]

Since when is screaming is supposed to be fun?

[Zombie apocalypse, dude.]

When it's for the sheer thrill of it and not because you're about 5 seconds from getting eaten.

[Although Simon was one of those ones that occasionally combined both the zombies and the sheer thrill anyway. No one could really claim he was all the way sane.]

[scootch]

[That's... different.]

Can't say I've done that before.

[There isn't much fun-thrill to be had in quarantine zone, except maybe seeing the Fireflies blow stuff up, and... well, that was mostly scary. And screaming would just get you noticed and shot.]

Alright then. We'll find something moderately scream-inducing to start. Come on, squirt. [Simon grins and gives a light tug to her ponytail as he stands, motioning her to come with him. His gaze was already scanning their surroundings for a ride that would work.]

[scootch]

[The nickname and the ponytail should annoy her, but she's getting a bit attached, so she just snorts quietly and brushes it off, following along. She'll keep an eye out as well, though she has no idea which ride would qualify.]

So, you went to these places back home?

[luckynumberthree]

Not quite like this. [Simon flashes her an amused glance at that.] For one thing, none of them were on the moon and most of them were still confined to following the laws of physics. But in general? Yeah, I've been to a few. Roller coasters are awesome, for the record.

[scootch]

I think I saw a photo of one once. It might've just been a train, though, I'm really not sure. Same basic idea, right?

[luckynumberthree]

Sort of? [Simon's face scrunched up.] Except a train is for transportation purposes. Safe, fast, efficient. Roller coasters are something else entirely. They're just for fun. Come on, I'll show you.

[There's one that's Disney themed nearby, the rails and cars brightly colored and it doesn't look like it has anything too terrifying about it. Probably a good place to start for a kid that's trying it out for the first time.] How about this one?

[scootch]

[Ellie glances up... and up... and quirks a brow. It looks pretty big, especially up close, but not as big as some of the others she's seen around. Looks like a good place to start.]

Sure, I'm in. Lead the way, boss.

Stick close then, Squirt.

[Since apparently nicknames are a thing here.

He gets them in line and it's surprisingly not that long before they're being loaded into one of the cars. He gets in first, then waits for her to sit before he makes sure she knows how to secure herself into the seat.]

There. You should be good to go. Ready for this?

[scootch]

[Careful, Simon, or your permanent nickname will be S'moresman.

Once seated and secured, she wiggles a bit, prodding at the restraint over her head.]

Uh, I guess... is this thing really important? It's really clunky...

[Obviously one of these days he's going to have to introduce her to the movie marvel that is Stay Puft.]

Trust me. It's important. You don't want to go flying out of this thing. [Simon looks amused at her question as he fastens his own harness and settles back in his own seat, peering around the thing to grin at her.] Just hold onto the bars here if you need something to hold onto. And don't worry about shrieking your head off if you feel like it. It's sorta expected.

[scootch]

Um... okay, if you say s-

[And then the coaster shifts into gear, slowly clicking forward. Ellie's eyes widen, sitting up in her seat and staring out at the track looming ahead of them as the coaster car starts to pick up speed. It's... kinda like a car? Except not. Cars don't have tracks.

Oh god, she hopes she's not about to die.]

[luckynumberthree]

It'll be fine, kiddo! [Her words are cut off, so he gives her a grin and a laugh as he reaches over to tap his fingers against her suddenly-clenched knuckles.] It's fun! Just don't forget to breath, yeah?

[scootch]

Breathing. Got it. Okay. Okay.

[In, out. In, out. In, out. This isn't so hard. It's actually kind of relaxing the way it-- HOLY GOD IT'S SUDDENLY MOVING REALLY REALLY FAST

She wasn't screaming a minute ago but she sure as hell is now.]

[Simon, in contrast, is laughing his head off, giving an exhilarated whoop as the roller coaster drops them down into a free-fall and speeds them around the track, carried by its own momentum. He's never lied about the fact that he's an adrenaline junkie and he loves every second of it, but he still keeps an eye on the girl at his side, making sure she doesn't slip into all-out terror.]

[scootch]

[She stays mostly in the middle ground of half-terrified, half-thrilled - and she's not quite sure which one she feels more yet. It's exciting as hell, though, that's for sure. She's never experienced anything like this.]

[The ride isn't long and it's speed makes it go by in a blur and several dips and drops and high-speed curves later, the cars are pulling back into the loading station and the restraints rise mechanically in the air.

Simon leans forward so he can see her and gives her a shit-eating grin.]

Still breathing over there, Squirt?

[scootch]

[....Whoa. Whoooooaaaaa. Okay- okay. She needs a minute to regain her senses- she's completely out of breath from screaming for that long, and now that it's over, she's kind of hyperventilating, her head bowed. Eventually she manages to get herself to move, but all she can do is lift her hand and give him the finger.

Her breathing has graduated to the quiet wheeze of a laugh, though, so apparently she did enjoy herself...]

[Simon just laughs and leans over to scoop her up in his arms, carrying her off the ride so they don't get glared at for lingering too long. He cuddles her against his chest, still chuckling as he gets them out of the way and finds the nearest bench for them, dropping down and propping her on his knee.]

Did I break you?

[scootch]

[By the time they're up and seated, she's recovered enough to sit up properly, though she's still panting a little, one hand on her chest.]

No... oh man. Hell no. That was friggin' amazing! Can we ride it again? Or- or a different one!? A bigger one! It's awesome!

[luckynumberthree]

[Simon just laughs and tugs on her ponytail, sprawling back on the bench as he grinned at her.]

I told you you'd like it. Sure we can. We can go on any of the ones you think you wanna try out.

[scootch]

[She gives him a little shove and slides off his knee, plopping down on the bench beside him. She's a bit old for that, even if it had been nice.]

Can we go on them all?
