[Ah yes, fun... a concept Eley was still investigating himself, testing new things to find out what exactly his own personal brand of 'fun' was.

And from his earlier questions, Eley had heard that there were ways of having fun that involved two people. Honestly he was rather pleased that the two of them had managed to get through their prior fallout, and made each other happy in the process.

Eley gives a nod to Rudy as he settles down, offering a small smile of his own.]

I suppose this must have been your first time... I am happy that you both seemed to enjoy spending time together.

[First time? ... Well, probably. He'd been to fairs back home on Filgaia, but none of them quite resembled this place.

And thinking about it, it'd been the first time in a while they'd spent time together like that too. He sheds his jacket, revealing the scarring underneath. It was still healing, but since it was just Eley and himself, Rudy didn't mind.]

In a while. [Then he kicks off his boots, collapsing backwards into his bed. Still smiling, he gazes is focused upwards at the ceiling.] Never thought we'd be here on the moon of all places.

[In a while? That earns a rather bemused look from Eley. He hadn't thought they'd really been doing anything like that before... besides, wasn't he already rather young? Did... humans really spend time together even younger?]

I had not realised that you had been involved in such things prior to this. [He notes.]

[He's distracted somewhat when he catches sight of the scarring. Of course, he doesn't mean to stare and draw attention to it, but he still worries for Rudy. Realising what he's doing, he turns back to the window, looking outside.]

No... I certainly did not expect to be here. It was once a dream of mine to take my people away from Aether, to somewhere else. Beyond the stars. I caught a glimpse of those stars today. I just wish it had been a more... comfortable experience.

Why not? [Rudy looks confused for a moment. Filgaia might be a little behind the times in comparision to this world, but that didn't mean things like fairs or festivals didn't exist.] Last time was in Adlehyde, but...

[Rudy's expression turns grim. It didn't end well that day. Now wasn't the time to think about that, however. His attention turns to Eley, concerned.]

You weren't comfortable?

But... things did not go well. Not like today.

[It didn't take much for Eley to tell that something had happened back then that had affected Rudy deeply. He wanted to encourage him though... reassure him. Things had already changed for the better after all, yes?]

I believe it is a matter of experience. Things will become easier over time.

[He gives a soft sigh, placing a hand on his stomach as he remembers how he felt after going on that terrible machine.]

I decided to try out a ride... however, it was not quite what I was expecting. I left feeling rather ill.

Yeah... [His gaze trails back upwards, still somber.] I just hope it stays like this.

[He didn't want things to take a turn for the worse like last time. So many people died that day. But Rudy didn't want to dwell on the past right now, especially not over a memory like that. Shaking those memories aside, his thoughts turn back to Eley. ... Poor guy. It sounds like he had a rough time.]

... Sounds like it. I didn't get to go on them, but they looked pretty dangerous. [Honestly, he didn't have to go on them to see - he'd already seen the twists and turns on some of those rides, nevermind how fast some of them seemed to go. The thought alone is enough to make the boy wince.] ... How are you feeling now?

[Eley looks back to him at that, removing his hand and giving a nod of reassurance.]

I am well now. It is perhaps the only time I have been glad to be back on solid ground. Then again, I should not have expected any less from the Malnosso.

[Though Spock had said that it was a known form of human entertainment. Were these 'rides' any less terrifying elsewhere?

And well... since they were on the subject of how they were feelings.]

How have you been healing?

[He assumed Rudy would know what he was talking about, of course, he wasn't going to spell it out for him.]

[Which was fine enough - Rudy already knew what he meant. Almost instinctively he reaches for his shoulder.]

Better... I think. It's been a while, but... [Briefly he pauses to move his fingers, then his wrist. After that, he lifts his forearm - his control of it still wasn't perfect, but its condition did seem to be improving over time.] It feels better than it did before.

[That there was any improvement at all was enough for Eley to show that his work had paid off. Not that he would have minded even if it hadn't... he didn't offer his blood for no good reason. And well... he hadn't meant to fall out with Saori of course.]

I am relieved that things appear to be improving for you now. Let us hope that it continues.

[Upon hearing that, a small smile cracks from the boy, his previous pensive expression gradually softening.]

You've already done enough.

[More than what Rudy ever anticipated - a fact the boy is more than grateful for. ... And deep down, a little guilty as well. If anything, Rudy felt like he should be the one doing something for Eley.]

[Eley's not sure if he would say that... Not that he felt that there was more in particular that he could do for Rudy, but saying it like that just made it feel so final. The Spirit was sure he would be by his side again if he needed him.

Honestly, he can't help but be a little reflective over it.]

I rarely feel this protective over others. It is... a strange feeling. Perhaps the 'other me' had some influence on how I feel about you, though I am sure I must have sensed something long before that.

[... Huh?

That's not something he expected Eley to bring up. It's true the invasion (as well as its immediate aftermath) led to some conflicting feelings - ones that took a while to shake off. He's not even sure if he's completely shaken them off yet.]

That other life, huh... [His gaze becomes contemplative, still focused upwards.] You still think about it?

[Eley gives a nod. When he had first woken from that strange dream he had felt utterly confused and he had put everything he felt towards his previous family down to his other self. It wasn't him feeling that way, just residual feelings brought on by the changes they had gone through.

Now though... while it was true the feelings weren't exactly the same or nearly as potent, Eley couldn't shake them off completely. Maybe he wasn't supposed to.]

I did not know what to make of it at first. I felt uncomfortable and I did not know how to react. I have never... had a family before, nor have I thought about it as a possibility.

I had hoped that the feelings would fade in time. Yet they have not gone completely... and now I am not sure if I really want them to.

[It is at this time that Mithos is slinking through the clusters of villas, wondering where he'll find shelter. He should have claimed a house sooner, but he had been too paralyzed to leave the crowds behind; he had finally come here on the tails of the crowd, like something washed in by the tide, and by then all the villas were already occupied.

So with fear steadily unfurling inside him, he lingers in doorways and strains to hear just who is inside. The streets are nearly deserted. Panic rises in his throat, gripping tightly, and he feels helpless to combat it.

On the verge of giving up - wanting to collapse and just try to hide from his fear, hating everything about that thought - he hastily bangs his fist on the next door he sees. He won't wait there. Should the person who answers his desperate knock be someone undesirable, Mithos doesn't want to be found out, and so he hides around the corner from the door.]

[It takes a short moment for Eley's words to sink in. The implications aren't immediately obvious to the boy at first. But when they do, Rudy looks at the spirit with an expression best described as uncertain. Did Eley mean he wanted that life, the one they shared? ... Or did he mean he desired his own family in general? Even now, it wasn't always easy to read Eley, because oftentimes he didn't always understand the full implications behind his own words. He opens his mouth as if to speak up...

Of course, a sudden and unexpected knock at the door quickly cuts off his train of thought. Sitting up, his attention turns towards the sound, then back at Eley, puzzled. Getting up, he'll move to open the door, only to find... no one?]

'lo?

[He peeks outwards, taking one look to the left, then to the right. ... This was weird.]

[The knock catches Eley off guard just as much as Rudy. Looks like he wasn't getting an immediate answer from him, but that's all right... now the Spirit was rather distracted himself.

He waits for Rudy to open the door, but it's soon clear that something isn't quite right. Curious to find out what was happening himself now, Eley gets up and heads for the door, peeking out behind Rudy.

There... certainly didn't seem to be anyone on the other side of the door to speak to. Surely they weren't both hearing things, those were pretty definite sounds.]

Strange... why would someone try to attract our attention if they do not need it?

[He recognizes the voices and he hesitates, frozen between two fears. But the cloying emptiness around him feels more immediate than anything he could risk with closeness to others, so he steps into view, trying to keep his gaze steady and his expression unreadable. His fear quivers just beneath the surface.]

I require somewhere to stay.

[This is far better than if he had stumbled upon anyone from his world, or someone he does not know. He's forced to admit that these two - at one time his "family", and the memories sour inside him, bittersweet - would not harm him. Not with any immediacy; his brittle "trust" - forced and exposed only through desperation - cannot extend beyond here and now.]

Mithos?

[He's not sure who he was expecting really, but somehow Mithos wasn't particularly close to the top of the list. He always seemed so distant towards others, particularly abrasive towards Eley especially since previous events, but here he was now requesting somewhere to stay. And... well, since he's here, the Spirit can only assume he wishes to stay with them, yes? Surely he didn't need an escort elsewhere.]

If you wish to stay here then I would have nothing against it. I am sure Rudy would not say otherwise either. [Though of course, only he could confirm that.]

But... I must ask, why here? Why with us?

[His entire body is tense, arms rigid at his sides, fingernails digging into his palms as he tries to hold himself together. He doesn't know how to explain his actions, because he doesn't understand it himself.]

...I have no other choice. [An evasive answer, but it reveals at least a fraction of the truth.]
