Dragon balls...

[Okay, that's a new concept. Riku's brow furrows, and he brings a hand to his chin.]

And I take it those were a pretty big deal.

[capsulepresident]

[Suddenly Trunks gets more serious and gives Riku a nod.]

Yeah they are. If you gather all seven, you can call upon Shenron the eternal dragon for any wish you can think of or want. In the wrong hands, they could be used to take over the entire universe if it was allowed.

Are there at least limits to it? If you could wish for anything...

[Riku winces, looking off to the side.]

Yeah, I can see how there'd be problems.

[As if Jafar wasn't bad enough.]

Not really? At least that I know.

[He frowns.]

They fell into the wrong hands and my home planet named Earth basically exploded because they were used.

[stilldontgotit]

...Gee, that's great.

[He pinches the bridge of his nose and groans.]

What kind of psycho thought that was good idea?

[Trunks sighs and shakes his head, followed with a sigh.]

It's a little complicated, let me start from the beginning. During a trip around the galaxy to save Earth with my friends and collect the dragon balls as they scattered across the galaxy, we ran into this mutant alien named Doctor Myuu who had created an alien child by the name of Baby. Doctor Myuu was planning on using Baby to conquer the entire universe, but I found out his plans and stopped him before Baby could be fully developed. Or so I thought would happen, yet Doctor Myuu was able to revive Baby despite my efforts to stop him. Thus we battled and tried to destroy them, but they got away. Eventually on another planet we found out Baby was still alive, he had killed his own creator, and was trying to steal the dragon balls from us with a new found strength he had gained after our last battle with him. He even learned the ability to possess people's bodies, which he didn't have last time. After that encounter with Baby, we thought he was dead. However he beat back to Earth and took over the entire planet, then used the dragon balls we had collected to wish for his home planet to be restored. Because of that, the dragon balls were scattered across the galaxy again which doomed Earth to explode because they were used.

[Another sigh.]

I mean we beat him eventually, but yeah. We had to bring back the Earth because of that monster using the balls. Thankfully it was possible, I don't know what we would do without the dragon balls.

[That's quite the story. Riku's eyes go wide as Trunks describes the ordeal, shuddering and placing one hand over his chest when the subject of possession comes up. Still, he continues listening, trying to make sense of the events-- after all, he's an outsider with no prior interaction with the dragon balls or anything else from his world.

By the end of Trunks' explanation, Riku's eyes narrow, and he grumbles under his breath.]

So, basically, he sacrificed one world to bring back another... Does that always happen when you use those things?

[capsulepresident]

[He's frowning and shakes his head, though he does answer Riku's question.]

Not really. Most of the time, our enemies are after our friend Goku. He's the strongest in our universe and they always want him dead.
