[He sits up just enough that he can start unstrapping his boots and kick them off.] Likewise. So how you finding being on the moon so far? Hope it hasn't been too bad.

[At the question, Peony grows somewhat somber, but if Vash were to look he'd seem only tired out from a long day.]

Well, to say least, I spent most of my day looking for my friends. Can't say I had a chance to really enjoy the sights, but all in all, it could have been much worse.

About the same really. Making sure everyone made it here alright then I was exploring the park and trying to remember where everything is. [He pulls off his shoes. Although with long pants down by his ankles and socks on there's not much to see.]

It seems the Malnosso may just want to give us a good time, but I don't trust them not to do something horrible this time of year. So I'm going to stay on my guard myself while here.

Yeah, it does seem like they only intend to give us a fun time. Though if I may ask - what did the Malnosso do that made you not trust them? [Peony hasn't been in Luceti very long so he'd like to learn past incidents - besides the kidnapping everyone and stuff - so that he could make more of an informed decision about the Malnosso should the time come.]

Well, last year they made the moon seem like it was falling and crushed us all.

Yikes. You all were made to believe you'd be crushed? Someone needs to learn where the line for a prank goes.

[Says this guy whose pranks go too far sometimes, as well. But right now he's just thinking of how some of his friend's, who've been here for a couple of years, had to go throw that.]

Well, the moon really did fall for all that we knew. It really felt like it hit, but then two seconds later we all woke up just fine. So I think it went a bit further than believing we were crushed. We really were pretty much.

And here I was hoping this would be a vacation compared to the chaos that happened with Luceti Valley.

Well, maybe we'll get lucky and it will be. [He starts to remove the items in his pocket and place it on the table. A couple casino tickets, his sunglasses, and other little things he's picked up around the day.]

I'm just not going to take anything for granted and I'm going to stay on my toes until this month is over.

I guess. Thanks for the warning, thou- [Unfortunately, Peony cuts off there as he is drawn to look at the sunglasses that have been set down. He outwardly winces at their gleam, then turns his eyesight way. Ahem.]

Eh? [Vash attempts to follow Peony's eyeliner to see what might have upset his new roommate. He doesn't see anything.]

[Of course, no one other than Peony would see the sunglasses as partially ominous - they just weren't what a person normally came to be afraid of. Even Peony couldn't understand it himself, and this wasn't the first time he flinched away from glass today. It was honestly becoming a little bit of a problematic mystery. He wasn't normally afraid of anything, after all.

Keeping his eyesight still turned elsewhere, he sighs.]

...no, no, I'm fine. Could you just put away those...glasses of yours? I can't explain what's been going on with me.

My glasses? [Vash picks them up and turns them over in his hand a couple times. There didn't seem to be anything wrong with them.] Sure I can, but did you see something wrong with them?

[He shivers, as he can still see the glasses shimmer from the corner of his eyes.]

U-uh, it's like this place cursed me. Now I can't look at...certain glimmering things.

Yeah? Really? [Vash quickly puts his glasses back into his pocket.] Alright, they're gone.

[Peony waits a couple moments more to be sure they're gone, then finally is able to look back up. With a beat-]

...Thanks. This is a little weird for me, too.

It's alright. It won't be too hard getting rid of the sunglasses. I have more back at the village. I'll toss them out so they won't be in the room at all if it makes you feel better.

No, there's no need to go that far. Keeping them out of sight will do.

[He already feels silly, so no need to add guilt to that.]

Alright. As long as you're sure. I don't mind getting rid of them.

[He'll just leave that for Peony to know in case he changes his mind later. He really doesn't have any attachment to them. For now he decides best to change the subject.]
