Who: Everybody!
What: A field trip for the entirety of Luceti!
When: October 27th, until the end of November 2nd
Where: The Happiest Place on the Moon, Malnosso World!
Summary: So you remember all those times Luceti was transformed into Luceti Land? Welcome to Malnosso World, Luceti Land's bigger, cooler brother. Be sure to keep all hands inside the rides at all times, and refer to your map if you get lost. Trust me, you'll get lost.

So far so good. I'm...a little confused by why they're giving us all a vacation, bit I guess I'll enjoy it while I can. What about you?

Well, it wouldn't be the first time we've been given a "vacation", though we've had warning for the other times. Also this is the first time we've actually been taken completely out of the enclosure for it, let alone the fact that other enclosures are here as well, so perhaps it's something that they decided to do on a higher level and not let us in on. As for myself, I'm well enough. There isn't much in an amusement park that interests me, so I'll just make the best of it.

The other enclosures...?

[Whoa, full attention.] That's who all the other people are? People from places like Luceti?

[HI I AM SLOW.]

Yes, that's right. We've sometimes seen them on missions and drafts as well, but even that was something that only began a couple of years ago.

...maybe something's going on back home they don't want us there for. There's a war going on, right?

[Still, she's dubious. If they were that nice, there wouldn't be drafts.]

Yes, but that hasn't prompted them to remove everyone at once, before. Honestly I'm surprised they managed to bring everyone here without anyone complaining of side-effects...

Side effects?

Usually when we are sent to other areas, the Malnosso will tell us whether or not we are compatible with any existing shifts there. Of course, then again, it's not as if I've spoken to everyone here. Still, there are a few reasons why we could have been brought here. Last year this time, for instance, there was a major draft that had lasting repercussions. Even more sobering is that the Enclosure we had been sent to defend during that time ended up being lost in a later invasion...

[You are so definitely a teacher. And that's kind of sobering and food for thought, because why weren't there incompatibilies this time round? She hasn't seen anyone being ill.

Briefly her fear of orange springs to mind, but that started before she arrived. So no.]

Do you think the enclosure might be in trouble?

... It's hard to say. After all, there are more than just us here, and some of these places we've never heard of before. It could be that after that last time, they somehow became more efficient at moving people to safety when threats were abound, but I doubt that as well.

I wonder if any of these people from the other enclosures know anything.

The ones I've asked seemed pretty much in the dark about it.

Hmm. Well, I guess the Malnosso doesn't really trust any of us.

Do you think this could just be another kind of experiment?

[She shakes her head.] No. Experiments occur within the enclosure. Although, "Bubble Land" seems to specialize in random, short lived shifts, for the benefit of those who apparently don't undergo consistent experiments.

Yeah, I decided to give that place a wide berth.

[Experiments occur in the enclosure, but she can't see any real reason to completely write off the idea. Even so, it's one that she's having fun with, were it not for the orange issues.] I'm all out of ideas. I guess we'll find out if we go home and find everything's changed on us or something.

Pretty much. Besides, as long as we don't run into any "Halloween" surprises here, that attraction area aside, it might actually be a break from the usual faire.

"Halloween"? Are those sorts of surprises common?

Usually. There was one year that we were also taken to a smaller park like this one, but that one was inside the enclosure, not directly sponsored by those in charge, and wasn't without it's later "surprises". Though quite a few things were different back then as well.

...that's on the 31st, isn't it? So we should probably just keep an eye out that day.

It is, but in the past we've found that just to be the climax of the entire experience. Granted the leadership of the Malnosso has changed hands a few times since those earlier incidents, so who knows what we might end up with. I would be highly surprised if we aren't forced into costumes at some point...

Costumes? Whatever for?

It's in the spirit of the "holiday". Although in most cases, we found ourselves in outfits that we either weren't allowed to take off or - well, couldn't.

Huh. Fancy dress type stuff. Well, that's not...so bad, I guess. Unless they tend to put you in something humiliating.

It's usually the latter. Although I suppose that does depend on the person and what they'd find personally mortifying...

Right. So maybe I'll make plans to hide under my bed that night. Just in case.
