[Gear icon in the upper right, above your mailbox. Down to Settings, the 'General' tab and then down to where it says "Conversation View:
(sets whether emails of the same topic are grouped together)". Set that to 'off'. Unless you're working from an android device and the gmail app, in which case I feel your pain since there isn't a way to turn it off.]
