It took a little while for Rogue to relax enough to do more than just move with him. This felt very... public and strange and... good. It felt very, very good.

Eventually she opened her eyes so she could look at him, and she saw out of the corner of her eyes that they were far from the only couple engaging in such close dancing, and that helped Rogue relax further. She began to move with the beat, making use of the high slit of her dress to really move against him.

Loki gave her an encouraging smile when she relaxed and then gave his hands leave to wander a bit over her back.

This wasn't really his sort of music, but then again he ultimately liked any sort of music so long as it lead somewhere fun.

The dress dipped down enough in the back to leave Rogue's wings completely free, so the chances were good that as his hands wandered he would find skin instead of silk, and Rogue loved it when he touched her back. She always had.

She brought her hand from behind his neck to run a finger down his shoulder, his chest. This wasn't the kind of music that had easily discernible words, but she actually hummed a little under her breath, just feeling happy, because it was him and her and they were so close and touching each other.

Loki quickly found the boundaries of that bare skin and offered her teasing little touches. In this moment, it felt like nothing had ever gone wrong, and they'd never been dragged down by grief. It felt good.

After some time of this, Rogue was starting to feel not only happy, but comfortable. She always admired the way that Loki moved, and now that she was so close and moving with him, she felt like she couldn't do anything wrong. There was something heady and empowering about moving like this to the music on a public dance floor and with all their talk about making each other hungry, she didn't want to fall behind.

Rogue teasingly arched into him before executing what was, for her, a bold move that also displayed her trust. She turned just enough in his arms to make it so her back aligned with his front, keeping in mind several of the things he'd recently told her he was partial toward, and continued to move with him, dancing. She gave him a smile over her shoulder, hopeful and inviting.

Loki liked this a lot. He bent to bring his lips close to her ear, not so he could say anything, but rather just so she could feel him smiling. One arm went loosely around her waist for a moment, fingers splayed over her stomach. Then he slipped his hands along her arms to find her hands and encourage her to raise them. He pressed against her back, still moving to the beat of the music.

"Mmm," she exhaled a soft sound of appreciation, feeling his smile. It evoked tingles of excitement and she couldn't help tilt her head a little to the side to make more room for him. She liked how this gave him liberty to touch her.

Rogue pressed her wings flat against her back to lean further into him for a moment as she continued to dance with him. She released a breathy laugh and followed Loki's prompting, lifting her hands up over her head and moving them to the music as well. Moving her arms slightly up and down to the beat gave her the idea, the freedom and the balance to move that way against him as well, shimmying up and down as well as side to side.

Loki surreptitiously kissed her neck when she tilted her head.

And he liked her next idea even better. He slipped his hands up and down her arms, happily brushing against her as she moved.

He might not like this sort of music as much as others, but he definitely liked this sort of dancing.

At this point, Rogue was out of ideas. But she could feel how this was pleasing him and just dancing like this made her happy too. It felt good. It felt free.

And she didn't have to worry about her powers, or about her guilt, or about anything at all -- the music was loud and Loki was behind her, and they were moving together and that was all that mattered. She let herself dance and let Loki do whatever he wanted.

Loki kept dancing with her, close and keeping in contact, until that sound ended. He wrapped his arms around her waist as the next piece began. "Another dance," he murmured into her ear, "Or are you ready to dance?"

Rogue was actually enjoying herself. "I'm kinda havin' fun, believe it or not."

She tilted her head so she could look at him and a warm smile spread her lips. "But I'll dance with you any way you want."

Loki gave her a hot smile, full of promise. "Let's have another dance out here, then, if you're having fun." He wondered if he could work her up enough that she'd drag him off the floor. It sounded like an excellent challenge to try.

He ducked his head to nuzzle her neck again.

"All right. One more dance." Rogue did not suspect what was going through Loki's mind, though possibly she really should have. With his arms wrapped around her waist, her movement was more limited. She could only sway in a way that was more befitting the elegance of the dress and enjoy their closeness. Rogue dropped her arms so that her gloved hands found his and smiled, tilting her neck for him.

As the next piece of music began, Loki let his hands wander within the bounds of what he knew Rogue wouldn't find too discomfiting in public. He kept them close and moving tightly together, very much enjoying having her body against him.

It didn't take long for Rogue to realize that Loki was very much Doing This On Purpose. It took her less time to decide that she liked it. She smiled all through the dance, just enjoying moving so closely with him. And she did her best to make sure that she wasn't the only one getting worked up.

When the song ended, Rogue almost wanted another dance, but she wanted to be with Loki more. There were too many people here; she wouldn't be comfortable moving those teasing touches into something more satisfying. "Hungry for dessert?" she breathed over her shoulder.

He was feeling rather worked up indeed, though he always had good control of himself. "Oh yes," he murmured. "What would be the lady's pleasure?"

"Get me off this dance floor," Rogue murmured back, "and I'll show you."

[complicatedliar]

"As you wish." Loki smiled, ducking his head to nip lightly at her neck.

He guided her off the floor, but took his time, keeping their contact close and hot. "I might be a bit too distracted to get you all the way home," he murmured.

Taking his time was a good tactic; by the time they were off the dance floor, Rogue didn't think she could stand to wait anymore. Her eyes scanned the crowded room, looking for a place that offered some privacy. "I might be disappointed if we had to wait that long."

A stairwell? A bathroom? An office? She didn't seem to see anything on this floor.

Loki had kept an eye where the casino staff came in and out of the rooms. There were service hallways behind all of the rooms, hidden from the view of the so-called guests. He spotted where the door must be hidden and led Rogue that way, slipping behind the curtain that covered it once he was certain they weren't watched.

The hallway on the other side of the door was very plain, nearly institutional. But more importantly, no one was there. Loki pressed her back against the wall and kissed her.
