They usually are. It's supposed to add to the effect. [Ami might be leaning against Luke, just a little bit, now. This may be cheesy, but it's also sort of peaceful. Quiet.]

[He leans against her too, one arm running up and down her shoulder.]

Luke, do you think it's strange I wanted to come on this ride? [She really just wants to know.]

No, why would I? I guess I thought it'd be for the same reasons I wanted to ride it with you.

[They've been together how long now?]

It's nice to have the chance to spend this kind of time with you, though. We haven't had that chance much lately.

[It's not so much that it's doing something for a couple, as the fact it's, well, this. Very hammy. Not very elegant or mature.]

I just meant, right here instead of doing something else.

Oh. Um, no, not particularly, in that case. I know you're...well...a bit like me. Something of a closet romantic.

And this is a little romantic, in a sort of overdone way. A little over the top, like everything else here.

It's supposed to be that way at an amusement park. It's supposed to be larger than life.

[Or at least outside life. It's supposed to be escapism.

It's a good reason to like them.]

Well, I can get behind that. It's all new to me, but I think it's nice.

[He squeezes her hand gently as he looks at the parody of some small naked child with a bow.]

It's definitely got a certain sort of charm to it, I can see why it's something you'd like.

[Ami's eyes follow Luke's and she gives a slightly sheepish smile.]

Cupid. He's said to be the son of Venus, the goddess of love. If he shoots someone, it can make them fall in love.

That's what the myth says.

[Luke suppresses a laugh at her look and only smiles instead.]

Well for once I suppose I'm glad that I got shot. I'm pretty sure it worked on us.

[She almost has to laugh at the thought: Did it hurt? But she has to admit... especially getting together on Valentine's Day...]

It sort of seems that way sometimes, doesn't it?

It does, in a way. I'm happy it happened, though. More than anything else that's happened here.

[Even meeting his parents...]

[She notices that's what he's saying and while she should really argue his family should be most important...

..she's glad that she is. And in fairness to Ami, the affection is a sentiment most definitely returned, even if family always holds a high precedence in her heart.]

I don't regret anything that happened about meeting you.

[He grins and leans into a hug. Family is important, but...family is something he's always chosen, in a way. Anakin, Padme, and Leia were a part of his life, sure. But Wedge, Han, Chewie, and Lando were as much a part of it.]

I'm glad to hear it. Dunno what I'd do if you did.

[It's the same for her. She may not have any brothers or sisters born to her parents, but she has several sisters. And some day, she likes to hope, she will have several children of her own.]

Do you know the rest of the things they put along this ride?

[Something he wouldn't object to, himself. Family is important, and making a new one equally so.]

I...actually don't. We don't really have things like this at home.

I'll have to tell you about the rest, then. It won't be as fun if you don't understand. [Actually, thinking of it that way, she almost has to laugh at the utter absurdity all of this is without any of the meaning attached.]

[Luke eyes the decorations skeptically, specifically the boat they're in.]

Is there some significance to the swan?

It's because of their necks. [This may not make the most sense immediately.] With their long necks, a pair can look like a heart.

[Ami obligingly makes a heart with her hands and holds it up for Luke to see.]
