Oh? Perhaps I ought to pick your brain a bit about tea, then.

[Wait, those are familiar words...]

Aha, pai sho! Ikki taught me how to play that.

That is a topic near and dear to me. I would be glad to discuss and hopefully enhance your tea knowledge.

[Well anyone who likes tea and plays pai sho is alright in his books]

Ah, sweet child. It is a bit confusing seeing Aang as a grandfather though, he does seem to have taken to the usual spoiling quite well.

[He pauses for a moment]

Ah, I should probably introduce myself properly.

[He gives a polite bow]

My name is Iroh.

I'd appreciate that. [and... He actually really would. Asgard isn't known for its fine teas, that's for certain.]

She's...adopted me as her older brother, amusingly enough.

I'm Loki. [Hm, winner if anyone has warned this man about him yet. But he does appreciate the bow instead of the handshake so many mortals prefer.]

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-08 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Nice to meet you Loki.

[He isn't particularly aware of anything about Loki really]

That does sound like something she would do.

A pleasure, I'm sure. You must be rather new?

She is a a most excellent little sister. I shall be teaching her horseback riding upon our return.

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-08 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes. Just arrived this month actually.

[He smiles at that]

I'm sure she is excited about that.

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-08 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Aha. What relation are you to Ikki?

She is such a bright child. Have care or you'll find yourself in the art club with me.
tea_lover64: (Iroh)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-08 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, no blood relation, but I am Zuko's uncle, and a friend and ally of Aang.

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-10 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Zuko... Zuko...

The one with the lightning, yes?
tea_lover64: (Iroh Buh)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-10 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
He learned how to lightning bend?

[They hadn't touched that particular fact]
complicatedliar: (sideways glance)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-10 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[Whoops. Oh well, too late. It wasn't as if Zuko asked it to remain secret. Not that Loki necessarily would have anyway.]

Learned may not be quite the right word unless it normally involves explosions.

But it's an interesting technique. Could be quite useful I'd think.
tea_lover64: (The way of Tea)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-10 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[He still had the block apparently]

Ah, still experiencing the block is he? Well, there are a few things he still needs to sort out.

[Iroh nods]

Yes, being able to create lightning is a powerful and deadly technique. Few firebenders are able to master it.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-10 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
If by block you mean random explosions, yes. Not so different from magic in that way, I suppose.

Do you always use it just for full out lightning, or can you employ it in more subtle ways?
tea_lover64: (Playing a game)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-10 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
From my knowledge it is only used to create full out lightning. More of a bold direct attack then anything that can be easily concealed. Theoretically it could be used to help power something I suppose, but I wouldn't have the technical know how to harness it properly.
complicatedliar: (giggley)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-10 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm. I wasn't thinking necessarily as a power source, though that could be useful in a pinch. [He's going to remember this.] Some can use raw power without having to muck about with machines, after all.

I was more thinking smaller things... one can always have fun with static electricity, for example.
tea_lover64: (Playing a game)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-10 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[He'll stroke his chin interestedly at the comment about using raw power]

No, I'm afraid the energy generated would be much larger when it happens.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-11 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, that's disappointing.]

A shame. But if that is how your magics operate, I certainly cannot argue.
tea_lover64: (Iroh Talking)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-11 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, with fire it is possible to do a variety of things with some subtlety, lightning generates too much power to be anything but direct. Such is the way of our world.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-12 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
What sort of subtlety might one achieve with fire? [He's only seen the airbenders in action.]
tea_lover64: (Playing a game)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-12 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, fire is not necessarily just the creation of fire, it is also simple heating of things.

[Like handcuffs which you then use to scald someone's hands]
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-12 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That certainly can have its uses, yes. [Never having cold tea is another one.] Particularly if one is tactically minded.

And you can do such things without it being visible?
tea_lover64: (Relaxing)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-12 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Certain things yes, obviously the evidence of doing so still remains.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-14 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
But one would hope you've planned for that as well. [Or you're not half the wily old fox he's taken you for.]
tea_lover64: (Playing a game)

[personal profile] tea_lover64 2013-11-14 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, generally speaking. Sometimes its useful to have a trail of evidence leading to an end goal.
complicatedliar: (giggley)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-11-15 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Watch out, Iroh. He's starting to really like you.] Are your opponents so easily led?
