Birthday wishes

What: Rin's Birthday
When: Dec. 27th
Where: House 15, in the living room
Summary: Shiemi is throwing Rin a birthday party. She's doing most of the setting up, but Rin was kind enough to cook for his own party. We don't want Shiemi killing anyone.
Rating: PG-13 at most I think.

Plants and heat lamps litter the living space of House 15, but they're all decorated in Christmas style. Baubles and shiny tinsel-like garland hand from bushes that range from fruit bearing to thorny. What might be most notable is that Mistletoe can be found almost everywhere. Shiemi saw people kissing under it a couple times, and despite it being a poisonous plant, if people really liked it that much then it should be at the party! The girl collected a lot of it, so people are bound to run into it! Feel free to get your grub on with Rin's homemade dishes, give out some kisses, or brag about the presents you did or did not get the Son of Satan.

[Shiemi actually gets stuck under the mistletoe with Shu because she was trying to untangle him from garland. When she gets a strand free, and tries to put it somewhere else, she finds herself stuck.]

U-uh-oh.

[Suddenly Shu feels really sleepy. Maybe it's because of the food. Who knows? He falls over and takes a nap. It doesn't seem like he'll wake up soon. Blame the mistletoe.]

[OH MY GOD SHU HAS FAINTED. Did she accidentally strangle him with the garland? No, no, no! She was very careful to keep it away from his neck! Cautiously she kneels down by Shu's limp body to take his vital signs. Delicately she rests her head on his chest.

He's still breathing, and she can hear his heart! Success! Ah, but he's still asleep... Gently she tries to rouse him with a little shaking.]

Sh-Shu? This isn't a time to sleep...

[Shu's still asleep and nothing Shiemi does seems to wake him up. Stupid mistletoe. He snores quietly being completely unaware of what Shiemi's doing. Shu's having a dream and so he lightly tugs on Shiemi shirt as he sleeps.]

[Oh dear. She looks up... Mistletoe?! But how are they supposed to kiss if he's asleep? She can't just put her lips on his, that's- Or maybe she can. Shiemi leans over him, and brushes his hair out of the way. Once that is done she closes her eyes, and lowers her head. Gently her lips meet his.]

[Shu wakes up slowly and stares at Shiemi in shock. He doesn't want to hurt her so he just lets her kiss him. She's not Gai. There's no use screaming over it.]

[Shiemi slowly pulls away, but when she sees he is away she bolts straight up into sitting proper. Her face turns red, but she claps her hands and smiles.]

Y-you're awake!

[He's not really sure what just happened. Did Shiemi really kiss him?]

Uh huh. I'm awake now. [Shu yawns.]

Sorry for suddenly falling asleep. Shiemi? Did you help me? [That much he can figure out.]

I- Eh-heh yes. I did. You were under mistletoe.

So you did kiss me. [He pouts a little. Not that he's complaining about it. He just wishes that she wouldn't have to be forced to do those things.]

Um... thanks.

Sorry.

[She covers her mouth with her hands. He's pouting. Maybe she shouldn't have done it. He did say something about being in love with a girl back home. She forced herself on him, how shameless of her!]

[Don't do that Shiemi! He can't help himself and he panics. Did kissing him bother her that much? ]

It's okay. You don't need to apologize for that.

Was kissing me really that bad? [He's paranoid that it may have been a terrible experience for her.]

I'm the one who's sorry.

It wasn't bad! I just... didn't ask your permission first.

Oh. [It was silly of him to make that assumption. He reaches over and takes Shiemi's hand. ]

You can have my permission. [This is making him get embarrassed. He'll never hear the end of it from Gai.]

["You can have my permission." Wait, does this mean she has permission to kiss him again?! But she wasn't planning to do that! Does he expect her to do that?! What do friends do in this situation? She doesn't know enough to proceed! This is a disaster! There needs to be a Luceti Friends handbook!!!!

Her eyes shift around the room for a while before she leans in to kiss him on the cheek. IS THAT WHAT HE WANTED?! She's not entirely sure! Hopefully she didn't cross a line.]

[Shiemi why! He meant from before. Oh well.

Shu honestly didn't expect her to go and do that. His face flushes with red and he's trying so hard to hide his shock. Nonononono, Shiemi didn't cross a line. Okay, maybe this is getting out of hand, but Gai would not quit. Gai is not a quitter so Shu can't be a quitter.

He kisses her back on the cheek once she's done.]

Sorry, I didn't ask for permission to kiss you either.

[Shiemi happened to make a small, high pitched noise in her throat when Shu kissed her cheek. Her hand moves to touch the place where he kissed her, and her face feels like it's holding all the blood in her body.]

It... it's fine... I don't mind.

[Shu awkwardly looks around desperately looking for something to say. Whenever he gets worked up like this the truth is always bound to come out.]

You don't?! [He's embarrassed again.]

Is that a problem?!

[She squeaks that out as if she had just been accused of something inappropriate.]

No, it's not a problem I-[ The problem is him. Why is he getting so worked up over this? Shu lets out a sigh and hides behind some furniture. He needs two seconds to recover his brain.]

Should I, um, leave you alone?

Please don't go. [He'll end up feeling more lame if she leaves. Spare him.]

I'm embarrassed of myself. Calm down, Shu. You'll be okay. It's just Shiemi.

What do you mean by 'just Shiemi'. You kissed her idiot.

[He hit his head on a table while rambling to himself about such things--]

What are you going to say to Gai when he finds out? No, just think. He doesn't have to know. Am I trying to fool myself? Gai can find his way into my filtered conversations--Of course he'd find out.

The sky is blue and the grass is green and Shiemi's in front of me! That's not true. I'm hiding from her. I'm hiding from Shiemi. Grow a backbone, Shu. You're a leader now. You can't hide when you get embarrassed because of girls. [Sorry Shiemi his brain isn't functioning properly right now.]

[With that he gets out from hiding and yells.]

Shiemi I--[No, he can't do it. Shu tried to work up the courage to tell her he was fine, but he's not.

So he's going back into hiding. ]
