[After a lot of preparation, opening night for Luceti's newest club is finally here. The music is loud and insistent, the kind where you have to shout a bit to be heard above the noise. Flashing, moving lights above reveal the purple decor, mostly devoid of chairs, and plenty of room to dance. A well stocked bar should be able to provide liquid courage to anyone too nervous to shake there groove-thang sober, while a patio out back affords a space for anyone wanting to have more intimate (or just quieter) interactions. There's also a coat room, for anyone looking for a warmer spot for intimate interactions.

The doors open at seven, and will stay open until two am-- plenty of time to drink, dance, talk and generally have a good time. When the DJs aren't spinning, a house mix is put on, so there's never a quiet moment.]

[He's not the best dancer in the world, but the guy wearing sunglasses indoors cuts a pretty striking figure. He's mostly watching from the sidelines, occasionally dancing in the crowd as the mood strikes him. It seems he's not interested in being the center of attention.

Of course, one might also find him at the bar, drinking something... non-alcoholic. Liquid courage? Nah, he's a bit of a straight-edge if there ever was one.]

[He may not want to be the center of attention, but he certainly has Jean's attention. She sidles up along side of him.] Hey! You made it after all!

[He plays it cool, tucking his hands in his pockets.] Oh, yeah. Kurt would have been pretty disappointed if I didn't come, and you know how he gets.

[Right. Kurt's the only reason he's here. Sure.]

Oh, yeah. You wouldn't want to disappoint him or anything. It's really good of you to think of Kurt, like that. Such a good friend to us all. [She smirks, lightly.] I'm glad you decided to come. It's almost like a "Welcome back" party for you... Late, granted, but still.

Hey, I'm just surprised I was able to find something to wear. [He smooths over some wrinkles in his suit, a small smile on his face.] I just hope I'm not overdressed.

Not by half. You look really great, actually. You men always get the sensible clothes. [The trade off being, of course, that the women get the flashy, sparkly ones.] Did you find that in the shops?

[He nods, taking the opportunity to check out her dress. Yes, it is flashy. And he likes it.]

Along with my visor. I don't think my uniform's shown up yet, but I'll keep checking. But what about you? That dress looks fantastic.

[He wants to say it looks like it might be a yellowish color. It's hard to tell, of course, but there are subtle differences in the way certain colors look through his shades.]

[She turns this way and that, looking herself over and showing him a few different views. It is, indeed, yellow, though it might read more orange to him.] You like it? I think it's the same one that I wore to the Sadie Hawkins dance. [Remember, Scott? When you went with Taryn? And not Jean? Jean remembers.] I liked it then, and I figured most people haven't seen it here. [She chuckles, amused by her own frugalness in a money-less society. She has changed it up a little, by wearing the gold and red-gemmed necklace Remy gave her for Christmas, at least.]

[He smiles and places a hand on her shoulder to lead her out toward the floor. He hopes it doesn't seem too forward, but she's about to get danced with, since now there's no Duncan or Taryn or evil mutant catastrophe to stop them.]

I still like it, too. And I'm really digging the necklace.

[Just... don't tell him where you got it, Jean. His fragile male ego can't take it.]

[ Said the guy in the hoodie as he sauntered over to get right up next to this other guy. Sure he's mostly here for the ladies, but he can still chat up some dudes. ]

[He's a bit taken by surprise. At Bayville, everyone had just accepted that he always wore the glasses.]

Oh, uh... it's a prescription. I can't really see without them.

[At least, not without blowing away everything he looks at, which is generally frowned upon behavior. He extends his hand.]

[ His grin turns lop-sided, and he takes the hand. Western, huh? His grip is form and ]

[The mirth in his voice indicates that he doesn't take any offense to it.]

Pleasure's all mine. I actually came over because I'm something of old guard and I'm not sure I'd seen you around before. Might as well get to know everyone's how my stance falls.

[ And shake complete. He slouches forward a little, keeping the smile up. ]

That's a good stance. [He turns to crowd watch with him.] I'd probably be smart to do the same thing.

Probably. If nothing else, there's inhibitions, or a lack therefore of, to exploit.

[He's going to pretend it was definitely a joke. And he's not as uptight as other people named "Scott Summers" are, so he's not offended by it, either.]

Though I'd probably stay away from some of the girls I know. It wouldn't end well.

[Katara's never seen dancing like this before. The wall seems like a good place to be to her.]

[Scott notices the young woman hanging out near the wall, which would normally have been his territory, once upon a time. She seems lonely by herself, so he decides to come pay her a visit.]

Hey there. I don't believe we've met. I'm Scott.

[Katara gives Scott a smile.]

Hi. I'm Katara. It's nice to meet you, Scott.

[Sadly, the flashing lights and his glasses make it a little difficult to completely make out her features. And he's not exactly good at meeting new people that aren't... well, like him. But he's trying.]

...I really like those loops in your hair.

[Oh, so... he wasn't blind then. Toph had been able to tell if someone was there, but she couldn't pick up details like that.]

Yeah, I am. That obvious, huh? [He smiles and looks out at the dancing crowd.] Though I guess I was here before. I just don't remember it.

Oh, don't worry. [She smiles a little and gives a half shrug.] That happens a lot. Maybe it means you'll be lucky and you won't have to stay here long.

Yeah... though I'd be lying if I said that some of it wasn't nice. [he reaches back behind his head, rubbing his neck self-consciously.] I mean... not a lot. But it's nice not having to pretend I'm someone I'm not while I'm here.
