[After a lot of preparation, opening night for Luceti's newest club is finally here. The music is loud and insistent, the kind where you have to shout a bit to be heard above the noise. Flashing, moving lights above reveal the purple decor, mostly devoid of chairs, and plenty of room to dance. A well stocked bar should be able to provide liquid courage to anyone too nervous to shake there groove-thang sober, while a patio out back affords a space for anyone wanting to have more intimate (or just quieter) interactions. There's also a coat room, for anyone looking for a warmer spot for intimate interactions.

The doors open at seven, and will stay open until two am-- plenty of time to drink, dance, talk and generally have a good time. When the DJs aren't spinning, a house mix is put on, so there's never a quiet moment.]

[Remy opened his mouth to answer, paused, then closed it again. Oh yeah, the hunt! Huh, funny how things got in the way of that.]

Ah, huh. Funny story. [Not really.] With the mission 'nd all, [And recovering from it.] Hadn't really got 'round to that yet. [The mission had scratched enough of his stealing itch to settle him for a couple of weeks, until the need for a new fix got too strong again that is.]

[He offered a charming smile, but still looked like he had just gotten caught stealing from the cookie jar, a personal favourite pastime when he was a kid. Really Jean, you can't hold it against him, can you? Not with that face.]

[Though she does a very good job of not showing it, Jean is a little disappointed to hear this. She put in a lot of effort on his gift, and is sad it's just... sitting around.] Oh? What mission is this?

[Her words are certainly cordial, but her tone has shifted, eeeever so slightly into "MMHMM. OH. REALLY." mode.]

[Ah god, the tone, he didn't have to hear it, Remy could sense it. He didn't really thing he was going to get out of this all that easy, did he?]

Jean, it ain't that I don't 'ppreciate the gift. Hell, got to be one of the most thoughtful 'nd personalized ones 'nyone has taken the time to give me. [Remy rested a hand on her shoulder, offering her a smile as he kept his head tilted down to look over the sunglasses at her.] Don't want to rush through it, 'nd don't want to use it as just a remedy for boredom. The missions, they be that, cheap 'nd easy, to scratch the itch. Not this.

[She glances at his hand, then back up to his face. She is still dissappointed, but-- tonight is supposed to be a more jovial thing. She can be annoyed later.]

It's your gift. You can do whatever you want with it.

[She pauses and then smirks.]

I'll keep that in mind about you; Remy... [She mimes writing a note,] Prefers... cheap... and easy. Good to know.

[Ooooh, she had no idea how right that was at times... but better not to admit to it. Or to point out by calling out his tastes like that, she was also insulting her.]

[Remy also didn't believe her words for a second. He was still in trouble, no matter how she phrased it. He was going to have to invest in some clean up time, get back those few points he had just lost with her. Femmes, why couldn't they just say what they meant.]

It has its place.

Mmmhmm. [She's got you pegged, LeBeau.] I'm sure it does. Did you still want to dance, or... would that be too high-brow for you? [Now she's teasing.]

If ya can stand bein' seen with me. [Finishing off his own drink with one long swallow, Remy left it to be picked up by the wait staff before offering a hand to her.]

Of course. Normally I'd say your eyes match my hair, but since you're covering them up tonight... we'll just go with your statuesque figure as being reason enough. Besides. I did say I would, and I wouldn't want anyone saying I go back on my word.

[She starts towards the dance floor, pausing to look over her shoulder at Remy as she goes, giving him a playfully arched eyebrow.] Coming? [Then continuing out to where the others were dancing.]

[Remy didn't mind the small rejection, only cause he got to watch her walk away in that rather tight little dress. Hmmmmmm, very nice.] Give me some time. [Falling in behind her, Remy moved up to rest a hand lightly on her back as they made their way into the crowd.]

[Eyebrows up at the touch. It's not unwelcome, at all. Truthfully, they've both been flirting rather aggressively, so it's not even unexpected. She's just making note, what level they've progressed to. It's been a few months since Duncan and... she's not thinking about that kiss with Scott. She feels somewhat in control of the situation with Remy. And that's... nice.

She slows her pace enough that she's not pulling away from the touch as she walks, nor is she settling back into it. She is-- continuing it. A "Yep, I'm aware of that. Feel free to continue" sort of body language, for anyone fluent in such a thing.

As for the dance floor itself, Jean is not a bad dancer. She's not as good as some, but she can keep rhythem and not look like a COMPLETE idiot. Being an athlete she's pretty in control of her body, and she can do really awesome things with her hair using her TK. She's not a "club girl," not like some, but... she can move. And move well enough.]

[Huh, well that is interesting. Not too big a surprise, but Remy is always ready to make a girl feel special. Normally it's just for a few hours, not what he and Jean had. Friends? Getting there. More? Well, if he was smart, no. But Remy was never smart when it came to having fun.]

[On the dance floor he twisted his position so they were facing, letting the slicked floor allowing his shoes to slip enough to create a smooth motion, keeping his hand lightly against her all the while but letting it slip to her side. Close enough to dance with, but far enough away to not press anything.]

[The dancing helps clear up any mood Jean had lingering over the disappointing reaction to her Christmas gift. It's all too easy to remember the dances she'd been to with Duncan; Noooot a lot of dancing going on there. And what little dancing there was involved a lot of crushed toes. Or would, if she hadn't protected them with her TK. Thank god for being a mutant, sometimes.

Regardless; it's nice to dance with a guy who actually seems to know how to dance, and at least appears to want to.

She keeps up the dancing for a few songs, never really pulling away from his touch, enjoying the confidence of his touch-- no hover hands here, no sir! She sometimes dances closer, more in his space, and sometimes a bit further away, but always with an eye towards him.

It takes another song or three, but she does eventually signal her dance partner.]

Hey... I'm getting thirsty. Want to stop for drinks?

[Remy would be happy to know that, not just to get any heat off his back, but to cheer her up. He didn't mean to disappoint her, her gift really was special, it showed she didn't mind his previous standing as an Acolyte, or his life as a thief. He knew people a lot longer who offered a lot less.]

[The fact she knew how to move was a nice bonus, and looked damn pretty while doing so. The constant flirting backwards and forwards was also fun, possibly a little frustrating as the night went on, but still a good time.]

Always up for that. [Shifting aside to allow her through, and partly to create a path for them around those on the dance floor, Remy let Jean step ahead of him.]

[Heading to one of the few stools available, Jean slid up onto the seat, looking around for service.]

What'll you have? I'm buying. [She's teasing, clearly.]

So kind of ya. [Taking the seat next to her, Remy finally slipped the sunglasses off, putting them away in his coat. He aimed a smile at her.] Ya move well, chere.

Thanks. So do you. [She liked that the glasses were down. She was able to read a lot of Scott's expressions, just by virtue of practice, but with others, she stilled like to look into their eyes. ]

My ex never cared for dancing. He always just wanted to stand around and talk or get into fights. It's a nice change of pace to be around a guy who'll actually dance with me. [Just throwin' that out there; Ex. ]

[Remy shrugged it off. Eh, that word never threw him off before, didn't matter to him who someone was with before.]

His loss, clearly. Maybe he was just insecure 'bout it. [Insulting the ex, dangerous depending on how the person still felt about them.]

[In this case, it was fair play. She had mentioned him only to point out that he was an ex-- as in, she was now single. ]

He was insecure about a lot of things. [She rolls her eyes, and then smirks, a weeeee bit evilly for such a good girl.] Not... without reason.

[cajunspice]

[Remy let out a bark of laughter, before falling serious and waving a mock finger at her, as in to say 'no'.] Now that be just mean, cherie. Maybe accurate, but mean. [But the return of his grin showed his amusement towards Jean's choice of words.]

Aww. Sorry. You're right. I should only ever be nice, prim and proper. No good could come from anything else. [She continues to grin, while flagging the current bartender down, pointedly not making eye contact, but never stopping her 1000 watt smile.]

Now who's puttin' words into who's mouth? I be hardly the person to ever advise 'nyone to act 'prim 'nd proper'.

Mais, ya be right on the second part, but who says bein' bad is so wrong? [Talking of, once they do have the bartender's attention, orders shot of tequila and a refill on his coke and bourbon.]

[And for Jean, another Shirley Temple.] Oh-- it's all I ever heard growing up. Good things come to those who deserve them, and all that. So tell me, Remy, [Emphasizing his name as her drink arrives.] What's being bad have to offer? [She pops the cherry in her mouth hole, stem and all.]

Femmes, riches, fun. It be pretty good, over all. Mais, hate to break it to ya Jeanie, always someone out there expectin' ya to live up to their expectations. [Thank you JeanLuc. On that thought, Remy down the shot as it's place in front of him, tipping the glass upside down on the bar top before taking a sip off his other drink.]

Why better to say screw it all 'nd do what ya want to do.

Hmm, hate to break it to you, but femmes don't hold much sway over me. Now, hommes on the other hand-- if I'm remembering my French correctly at least. [She removes the stem from her mouth, having managed to turn it into a heart-shaped knot, and sets it on the same napkin her drink rests on.]

Also-- you do realize you just described being bad as being "Pretty good, over all"? [She laughs, lightly.]

[Noticed and noted of that little skill, Jean. Also at the fact she was showing it off... Well, Remy wouldn't turn any possibilities down, she's a belle fille after all.]

What can I say, poster boy for life on the other side of the law.
