Given what he knows of Ginia's skillset, it makes sense too, given the abundance of hiding spots and environmental explosives, such as abandoned vehicles that still have some gas in their tanks.

He nods and gestures towards the room with an open hand. ]

After you.

[Ginia makes one more modification - checking her loadout, checking the loadout of the enemies - before finalizing the room. She heads toward it, stepping back into a familiar environment. The sky is overcast, the weather mild but with a small breeze.

There's a chest sitting in the back of an open van by the entrance. She glances at Kakashi, already anticipating an attack, and heads to the van. Her cellphone is set down in the back of the van for safety. She straps on a bullet-resistant vest, hip holster for her glock, secures four magazines in the pockets and carrying straps, puts in ear protection, and a helmet.]

[ Fortunately (?) for Ginia, Kakashi doesn't intend to attack, instead, strolling into the open after her and reaching into his utility pouch to pull out a brightly colored book.

He did say that they would begin with hand-to-hand combat, after all, and had more or less expected that she'd come at him first.

By all appearances, it looks like Kakashi's just hanging out in the middle of the open... reading. ]

[Properly suited up for combat, Ginia turns to Kakashi. It surprises her to see him idly reading, yet at the same time, it doesn't if only because she's used to training against lax-acting opponents. It forces her into the position of striking first, of leaving herself open and revealing her style.

She advances slowly, circling, sizing him up. She knows he's a ninja and so she expects speed. She expects tricks and dishonesty, but she expects that from everyone. His vest covers his wings, but a back shot is too easy. If she had the opportunity to strike someone from behind, she'd shoot them, knife them, or strangle them until they were down.

Attacking from the front has just as many problems. He'll see her straight on - she knows he's not distracted by the book. It'll leave her too open too.

So the sides. No telling how padded the vest is so no torso strikes.

Ginia advances with caution, each step measured, hands up for protection.]

[ Kakashi doesn't adjust his stance at all.

If anything, he slouches a little more, eye moving across the length of the page as he reads, thumb lifting to flick to the next page. His other hand isn't visible, tucked away in the pocket of his vest. ]

You know, if you're hoping to land a hit, you're going to have to come at me with killing intent.

[ Said lightly as he continues to read. ]

[Killing intent. Ginia's expression doesn't flicker as she sizes him up, then dashes in. Her right forearm goes in to sweep the book and his hands upward as her left fist goes in for a punch to his stomach. She has her knife, but she's not ready to pull it just yet, not on an opening move.]

[ Kakashi feels her coming first before he sees her. Senses it in the movement of the air, hears it in the intake of breath she takes just as she prepares to throw the punch, then sees the arm.

He dodges, leaning back to avoid her arm smacking against the book, then ducks under her fist, spinning to pivot around her so he's facing her back.

He makes no attempt to strike her just yet, though he does pull his hand out of his vest pocket to turn one more page.

This little game has only just begun. ]

[Even if she expected speed, she didn't except a reaction that quickly. But the battle's just begun and it's not about winning. It's about showing what she has and keeping a game face. There's no winning today, just a valuable learning experience.

Ginia turns, intending on driving an elbow into him.]

[ Her speed had increased with the force of the turn, and the elbow comes in fast, but not fast enough. With the closeness of their proximity, dodging makes less sense than blocking. Kakashi catches her elbow with the hand that had just turned the page of his book, then tightens his grip on it and uses her elbow as leverage as she turns half-way, to give her a hard yank back, with every intent of destabilizing her, so he can sweep her feet out from underneath her. ]

[If there's one thing from her childhood Ginia is glad for, it's over a decade of dancing. Even as he tries to pull her off balance, Ginia moves easily and steadily, stepping in and bringing up her left knee with the intent of catching him in the crotch or groin. Her left arm comes up defensively to protect herself.]

[ Yeah, that's not happening.

Kakashi sees it coming and he jumps up, the sole of his foot striking the top of her knee and using it as leverage to sail up over her head in a flip which has him neatly landing a couple of feet behind her.

To her credit, he's snapped his book shut and has tucked it away though. ]

Ha~ah, if you keep coming at me like that with such soft blows, you're not gonna get anywhere.

[ In other words: take him a little more seriously. He knows you're armed. ]

[That's... actually pretty impressive. But there's no time to gawk in a fight. Ginia turns on a dime, both feet coming down flat on the ground.

She has her gun, but at their present distance and his speed, he'd see her draw before she could even fire. No, she's saving her ammo for when distance is at her advantage. There's the other combatants waiting in the city too, already getting into place.

Since he seems set on the defensive, all Ginia can do is close the distance between them. She moves on in, hands up defensively. She lunges, feigning a punch toward the face with her right fist before kicking out at his knee.]

[ He raises a hand up and blocks the punch, then jumps right over the kick. So far, from what she's been able to exhibit, her unarmed taijutsu level is about the same level of a freshly-minted genin. She would probably do well to work with someone like Lee, who can give her more to work with, especially if she doesn't have any ability to control chakra.

Her strategy to target the knee was meant to disable him, but had little effect, since he saw it coming, and was able to evade.

The moment his left foot meets the ground, it's Kakashi's turn to finally go on the offensive, right knee coming up in a blow towards her side, opting not to feint a punch. He wants to see how well she does with an obvious hit before attempting anything else, just to establish her baseline. ]

[It's an obvious hit and so Ginia takes the easy answer; she steps away from the hit. A fight is all about the conservation of energy. Don't take unnecessary hits, don't get too careless, out last your opponent and put them down or get away.

Ginia goes on the defensive, watching his movements, planning out the possibilities and the counters.]

[ The moment she shifts her weight to step back from the hit, Kakashi drops out to sweep her feet, his speed suddenly a blur. ]

[There's no avoiding the sweep, not at her speed. Ginia falls back as her legs are knocked out from under her, but as she hits the ground, she rolls to her side, and quickly gets her legs underneath her.

She's back on her feet and quickly assesses the situation, one hand ready to draw her knife, the other going for her gun. Kakashi isn't the only enemy in the arena.]

[ Indeed, Kakashi can sense a group of eight mercenaries starting to flank them, and spots three hiding just behind the burnt-out wreckage of a car. Reaching into his holster, he pulls out a number of shuriken and a kunai, but instead of directing it at the opponent in front of him, he sends them hurling straight towards the car, metal clanging against metal.

There's a shout, as the shuriken fly through, but before the three men can even really react, the explosive tag Kakashi had placed on the kunai which had flown clean through the shell of the car goes off, the blast sending rubble flying.

Kakashi will use the shock of the blast as an opportunity to lunge again at Ginia, with every intent of sending a kick straight to her middle. ]

[Ginia draws her gun as metal goes flying past her and into the car. She's thankful for her ear plugs as the explosion goes off, shaking the ground and sending dust and smoke into the air. Her breath catches as she takes aim at Kakashi, firing off three shots at him as she gets back on her feet.

She catches movement to the right and quickly turns and fires, two more shots taking down a mercenary. Ten shots left. Her gun trains back onto Kakashi as she surveys the area.]

[ Except, all that remains where Kakashi should be is a puff of smoke... and a log with three bullets in it. ]

[Shit. Ginia quickly runs to the mercenary she just took down, keeping her back to the wall as she takes his gun and removes the magazine.

How do you find a ninja who could be hiding anywhere? The answer is simple; the ninja finds you.

She assesses the situation. Now it's a matter of staying alive for as long as possible. The simulation will end itself in an hour, but she knows if this was a real situation, things wouldn't drag on that long. She would already be dead. But this was a test.

Ginia takes to the main street, gun drawn as she hurries down the sidewalk and to the nearest car. Using the butt of the gun, she smashes the window to set off the alarm. The flashing lights and siren echo off the buildings as Ginia picks up a piece of rubble and hurls it at a car further down, also setting off its alarm.

From there, she ducks into an alley. The cacophony won't draw out Kakashi, but it will draw the mercenaries over, close enough for her to pick off and get their weapons.]

[ Meanwhile, Kakashi follows her at a safe distance, keeping track of her actions. He's a bit surprised by the car alarm at first, but then realizes that her strategy not only successfully creates enough noise to attract the mercenaries, but also covers up her footsteps in a relatively empty city, where even a pin drop would echo.

For now, he keeps himself carefully concealed, wanting to study her movements, strategy, and tactics. ]

[It's a conundrum, isn't it; investigate the distraction or ignore it and search the area? Let the noise continue or cut off the source? It doesn't take long for her answer. When the first mercenary comes to investigate the car closest to her, she checks the surrounding area and above for signs of anyone else. Seeing nothing, she waits until the merc has his back turned before she approaches.

Footsteps masked by the noise, Ginia holsters her gun and draws her knife. Throwing her arm around his mouth, she drives the knife into the back of his neck and into the spine, hauling him off into the alley. She pulls him behind a dumpster and sets about stripping him of his equipment. His knife she takes, clipping the sheath to her belt. She also helps herself to two stun grenades, a grenade, and pulls the shoelaces off his boots.

Items in tow, she heads out the back of the alley to carefully creep around the building. As she moves, she twines the shoelaces together. Once she's found a secure position in view of the car, she quickly ties the laces to one stun grenade and one grenade. When two mercenaries move in view of the car, she quickly pulls the pins, whirls the laces over her head and releases. The grenades go soaring over to the mercs, the sun grenade going off and startling them first as the grenade lands and explodes, taking out the legs of one mercenary while injuring another. Ginia fires off three shots to take down the third mercenary.

Seven shots remaining.]

[ Impressive.

Kakashi had shadowed Ginia throughout, keeping his presence carefully concealed, chakra cloaked out of habit despite knowing that she wouldn't be able to sense him. Taking down the first mercenary silently was smart -- a gun shot would have alerted the other mercenaries to her location. He'd watched with quite a bit of interest (and curiosity) as she stripped the mercenary of equipment, and was a little confused as to what she was doing with his shoelace, before it had become rather apparent that she intended to turn it into a sort of weapon.

He hadn't expected it to be such a powerful weapon, having the force of an explosive tag.

From her actions, it's clear that she's not only levelheaded and resourceful, but also extremely adaptable; she thinks strategically with foresight in mind, acts carefully, but with calculated force.

Smart.

Raising his fingers to form a seal, Kakashi creates two kage bunshin, sending the first to set a few traps in the area around her to ensure that she'd walk into at least one, and the second to silently flank her.

Let's see how well she does with a sudden burst of shuriken flying at her from behind a car. ]

[With three mercenaries down, Ginia hunkers back against the building to figure out her next step. It's a dead zone crossing the street with a ninja around, mines who knows where, and likely another mercenary or two wandering around. Some of the buildings are blocked off or structurally unsound, but that doesn't mean someone can't hide in them or access them via fire escape.

She knows there isn't that much time to think; if she takes too long, she'll likely be forced into action. But act too quickly and she could get caught off-guard. The car's taken some damage, but mostly structural, and if there was a mine or a claymore underneath, the grenade would have set it off. There are no signs of mines across the ground, though there are potholes and cracks spider-webbing out.

Ginia inches toward the sidewalk and glances up at the building. Open windows and cracked windows, but she can't see anyone. Gun in hand, she plans out her path and goes for it, moving swiftly, but keeping low.

She barely misses the burst of shuriken. She dives, though not before taking a slice across her upper arm, and combat rolls, hauling the last few feet over to the dead mercenaries. She hooks a hand under his combat vest and drags him around to the other side of the car. Her mind is racing, her heart is beating, but she cuts through everything as she reassess the situation. She'll need to pop over to the clinic to get her arm healed up after, but for now, Ginia quickly slices off a pant leg from the mercenary and wraps it tightly around the cut.

She's quick to strip him down for supplies too, taking his SMG, two magazines, another stun grenade, two more grenades, his laces, and his helmet. The helmet is put over the side mirror of the car, protecting it as she throws her weight against it to wrench it off, knife slicing through the connecting wires.

The mirror is used to peer over the car and assess the surrounding area. Mercenary entering the building across the street. Hm.]

[ Silent weapons aren't easy for her to avoid, it seems.

It's a good thing Kakashi's clone hadn't decided to be more precise with the shuriken, or it would have left her with quite a few painful wounds. Her reaction to the injury, though, is interesting and, once more, resourceful. As are her actions after. By now, Kakashi fully expects that Ginia will continue to strip enemies of weapons and gear, but the mirror trick is quite smart, as it allows her to see around the bend without revealing herself.

There's a slight burst of chakra as Kakashi feels the clone he sent out to set traps dissipate. There are a number of rope traps which she can get tangled in if she's not careful where she steps, as some of the rope loops are carefully concealed by dirt and rubble. A few of them have lures such as guns or ammunition Kakashi's clone stripped from mercenaries he encountered, strategically placed to force her to step into the trap, which will snap around her ankle and pull her upside down in the air.

Then, a few more dangerous traps -- nearly invisible trip-wires that would trigger explosive tags. A trap that might end up with Ginia caught in a net, swinging some ten feet high in the air.

He pulls out a shuriken, and this time throws it in the direction of one the traps. The motion clanks loudly against concrete. ]
