[She understands the silence. There's no need to say more, not now or ever.]

It sounds like a busy house, and not that different from mine.

[Shaking her head, she eyes the little pig.]

Well, that depends, Souji-san. What do you like? My attention is now on you, so let's find you something to make you smile even more. Vegeta and Yuuna can wait.

[And she realizes something.]

And since I failed to introduce myself, my name is Kimura Saori, the Daughter of Wind and Rain.

[ahappylie]

[Vegeta? All thoughts derailed, he looks at her for a moment.]

Kimura-san knows the grumpy spiky-haired man?

[windandrain]

[Saori's face softens, and a smile forms on her lips.]

I know him very well, Souji-san.

[Clearly there's no small measure of affection for him, too.]

You know him too?

[ahappylie]

[Souji's face doesn't show the same affection as he twirls the stuffed animal in his hands.]

Mmhmm....He said he was going to pull me apart the last time we spoke. Or, the second to last. The last time I saw him was at the battle dome practising his swordsmanship. I commented that he was gripping his sword too tightly and he didn't take it very well.

[windandrain]

[Saori's eyebrow climbs.]

He...is easily frustrated as well as rude at times. And he's not taking my
lessons on swordsmanship as well as he should. He's still a beginner, but he won't admit it to anyone he doesn't know well. He's something of a fist-fighter, like all the people from his world, and I've told him time and time again that he needs to loosen himself up before practicing with his sword.

[She looks down at the stuffed raccoon dog in her hands.]

But he won't actually pull you apart. He likes to talk like that, but he won't do anything unless you try to hurt him or his friends and family.

[ahappylie]

Aaah, so you are his teacher. [It would explain why Vegeta had been so defensive of her and her experience. Although Souji is always wary around supernatural beings after his experiences with them, he can't deny that Saori had to make for a good teacher having lived as long as she had.]

Maybe you should hit him. He seems to respond to violence.

[windandrain]

I am she, yes. I suggested it to him some months ago, because he does need to learn something of the art. And he's a passable student when his temper doesn't cause him problems.

[She gives Souji her warmest smile at the suggestion.]

And he responds well to teasing too, from the right source. Hitting him will just make him dig in his heels.

[ahappylie]

[Souji laughed at the idea of Vegeta's temper not getting the best of him at any time.] When doesn't his temper cause him problems? There's a reason why he's the Grumpy Spiky Bear.

He doesn't know how connected I am to his other friends here, I think - which is fine with me. I prefer to be unknown. [Souji set the pig back on the shelf and reached up to a higher shelf, pulling a blue and grey squid down. The shape of the body reminded him of Vegeta's hair.] Do you think he'd appreciate the joke in this?

[windandrain]

Oh, I don't know. He can be calm, you just have to know how to prod him. And I can understand that sentiment. I'm honestly surprised you've heard of me.

[She looks at the squid and smiles fondly.] And to be perfectly honest, I think he might consider it food. Or find it mildly disturbing. His culture seems very, very strange.

[ahappylie]

He just mentioned his teacher having over 700 years of experience - there aren't many here who could boost such a long life without being something not human.

[Souji held the squid out at arm's length, turning it in his hands.]

Well, I think it's perfect then. Either he'll try to eat it or be weirded out by it, and it'll be amusing either way. I just have to find a way to get it to him now.

[windandrain]

Well he's wrong in that regard. I'm not quite so old yet.

[She reaches up on the shelf and picks up another toy, a little stuffed ape and looks it over.]

He's usually at the Battle Dome, though I've got plans with him this evening for dinner. I could deliver it, if you like.

[ahappylie]

Oooh, I should definitely get back at him then. It's rude to overestimate a lady's age.

[Souji turns and rifles through a box of ribbons, putting a green one around the squid and tying it in a little bow.]

I'd appreciate it if you could~ You don't have to tell him it's from me specifically, but do let me know what he thinks of it?

[windandrain]

I'll do that myself, now that I know he's telling lies about me.

[She looks at the little squid and laughs, replacing the monkey and poking a finger at the plush cephalopod.]

I will, of course. And I probably will have to keep it a secret. He's so touchy at times.

[ahappylie]

[Souji laughed and bowed to Saori with a wide smile on his face.]

I am honored to finally meet you properly, Saori-san. Vegeta-san is very lucky to have you as his teacher and friend.

[windandrain]

[She inclined her head again]

You are kind to say so. I am trying to make a swordsman out of him at least.

[ahappylie]

I do wish you luck with that. He seems as stubborn as oxen on that subject.

[windandrain]

I was going to say a mule, but an ox works just as well.

[She smirks.]

He's still trying to get a proper grasp of delicate strikes, but I've got high hopes for him. Of course, if you have pointers for him and I'm not around, feel free. I'll certainly point out your rather impressive abilities to him next time I see him. I do want him to succeed after all. He's far too handsome, and I'd rather keep him from getting too scarred up.

He certainly has the temperament of both.

[Durhurhur.]

Oh, you don't need to worry about telling him about me. I think it would only make him angrier at me than he already is. But I agree with you on one thing, it would be a shame to see him injured. [But only because he was so much fun to tease for Souji.]

[windandrain]

[She nods, fondness plain on her face.]

It would be. I'm glad you agree, even if I'm sure my reasoning is entirely different. He's sort of cute for such a grumpy mortal, and he's so very, very easy to tease. Royalty really is the best.

[ahappylie]

It was a crime punishable by death in my time, but here I finally get to poke fun at the upper class. It's rather freeing.

[Souji smiled and patted the squid on the head.]

Hopefully with both of us teasing him, it'll keep him on his toes.

[windandrain]

Oh, it was when I was born too, but...now I get away with it all the time.

[It'd actually caused her problems as a child, been a real catalyst in her life.]

And we should be careful. If we tease him too much, he'll get angry and stop talking to either of us.

[Well, Souji surely. But she knows he likes her, the books say so!]

[ahappylie]

As if the silent treatment would work on us - it'd just present more of a challenge. And I do love a good challenge.

[windandrain]

Oh he would hate that...

[She can't help but laugh, though...given her feelings about him right now she'd probably tell Souji to stop if he was being serious.]

But he's not the kind to be silent, he'd just glare and threaten to make you explode.

[ahappylie]

And that's what makes it so interesting!

[Souji laughed easily and tucked his hands behind his back. It wasn't that he'd like to explode, but he knew Vegeta wouldn't dare attack if not attacked first. Even given how little he knew the man, he got the feeling that honor was important to him.]

[windandrain]

I suppose so. He can't make me explode anyway, haha. Or he might starve.

[It's not like Bulma can cook.]
