Hey, I happen to like this!

[It was simple, but habit and pressure makes a man like simple things-- that didn't mean that he didn't appreciate the nicer things in life.

Cliff scratched his chin with a gloved hand in idle thought.]

But an espresso machine, huh? Not everyday can you find a replicator that makes a good cup of joe like that.
misterbrief: (you're serious?)

Replicator? Our machine doesn't do that at all. We have beans for it, it doesn't replicate anything.

[Living on a planet who's resources aren't exhausted is nice. He is also most likely completely misunderstanding what Cliff is trying to say.]

Nah-- I mean--

[He broke off, flustered, and took a sip of his coffee to regroup. Replicators were a fact of life in his space-bound era. Coffee beans themselves were a commodity in a few ways, because of the very specific conditions that they needed to grow. But, facts were facts...]

What I meant was that having one of those things sounds really cool, 'cause you don't need to worry 'bout the vending machine crap ever again!
misterbrief: (I laid a finger on your butterfinger)

It is really cool. [Vegeta is repeating the phrase in spite, of course.] I even get to eat real food, made from real animals.

[He grins wickedly, taking another sip of his latté.]

[Cliff snorted into his drink.]

So do I-- when I'm not stuck out in free space for days on end. It teaches you to appreciate what you've got.

...

How often do ya get a good steak, anyway?
