A child named Hitachiin. Have you seen him or have you not? [Impatiently she taps her fingers on her arm, waiting for an answer. If he's seen him, she'll go with him to find him again. If not, then she can't waste any time on this idiot. Even if, now that she's thinking about it, there's something off...

Well, she could figure that out later. Right now the important thing was finding that child.]

-- I'm Hitachiin. ((He blurts it out, frowning at her.)) If you're talking about my twin--

((But Hikaru was... Kaoru tries to think back over the past week. He had been busy at the store, yes, making gifts for people to bring to their loved ones, but surely he would've noticed if Hikaru wasn't there. Finally, he shakes his head.)) What are you even talking about?

[Half of her wants to hit him. This isn't a game, so why would he say such a ridiculous thing! But then, she has a thought... What if this place brought that boy here from a much earlier period of time? If it could bring people of other worlds and times together, surely that could happen as well?

Adela has to take a breath to calm herself long enough to think clearly, though she's still clearly twitching when she speaks again.] A child appeared a few days ago, lost and looking for his twin brother - Kaoru. I have been attempting to look after him, but he continues to run off and search on his own. I would rather not see him any more lost and confused than he already was when I found him, so it is important to find him again as soon as I possibly can.

[totheright]

((He's shaking his head as she starts talking himself, almost having to convince himself not to believe. Finally, he chokes out--)) I'm Kaoru.

-- he ran off? ((How could he have not noticed his own brother was a kid? Why couldn't he remember the past week clearly?))

Yes, he did. To find his brother - I suppose that would be you.

[And apparently he doesn't know where the boy is, leaving Adela to stop looking at him and instead search the crowd with her gaze however she can. There's still no sign of him... She thought that having Hitachiin there at the festival would help bring him some cheer, but she hadn't anticipated losing him. More than anyone else, she blames herself for that.]

Well. ((Huff puff. He has to keep a clear mind now.)) I guess... we'll have to find him. ((No freaking out. He turns to the girl, then gives her a wan smile.)) Yeah, I'm Kaoru. It's-- nice to meet you.

[That's a big groan, and she's just about tomato-red from her error. No, she couldn't hold it against the child, the child doesn't know anything about it, she can take it out on him as a teenager though... And at least she knows the twat's name, sort of.]

Hey, now. ((He protests, frowning.)) If you can't handle how awesome we are, that's not Hikaru's fault. Some people just can't keep up with our fabulousness.

After a beat she shakes it off, standing a bit taller as she makes to walk off.]

Nevermind that, we still have to find him!

If he called you a toy, he probably had good reason. Most people are, you know. ((And with that, he waves a flippant hand, looking around.)) He's probably at one of the commoner stalls. Let's go find him.

People are not toys and I refuse to be degraded to nothing but a plaything.

[She'll not-so-subtly grumble to herself about aristocrats thinking they can do whatever fool thing they want then. The suggestion to start at the stalls does get her attention though, and she nods as she lets her steps carry her towards where the stalls are, heedless of Kaoru.]
