[Rogue nods, suddenly feeling a little more talkative and charitable towards Jean than she has in a while.]

We split up a little while ago when I ran into some friends. We'll meet up again later.

[shades_of_jean]

Good, good! [Jean nods, happily.] Sometimes it's nice to get lost in a crowd, by yourself. ... Speaking of which, I'm not intruding, am I?

[touchofrogue]

[Rogue smiles.] No, not at all! I was just thinking of going to listen to that droid band again.

[shades_of_jean]

Ohhh, yeah. The musicians here are wild! You know, I never really thought I would feel comfortable around robots, after everything that happened back home, but-- I guess music can bridge any gap!

[touchofrogue]

If you can call Frank Sinatra remixes wild... [But she says it with a smile.] Yeah, it looks like the droids are good for more than just mallynapping.

[shades_of_jean]

They are when they're being played by robots. [She chuckles to herself.]

Mallynapping... that's what it's called when we're brought here? Or when they want us to go fight and they 'volunteer' us? [She's read the new feathers guide, but despite being here for a few months now, she still feels like a total beginner compared to Rogue.]

[touchofrogue]

[Rogue shakes her head, sobering a little.]

No. A mallynap is something else entirely. That's when one of the splinter groups breaks in and takes someone for experimentation.

[shades_of_jean]

[Jean's brow furrows in concern and disgust.] Ahh... yes. I had forgotten that that was a thing, here. Horrifying. [Her expression is one of genuine worry, as she considers this.]

It really is so nice here. I guess I just don't want to think about the bad parts.

[touchofrogue]

[She nods a little, glancing away.]

It's been quiet for a long time now... I'm glad you guys have had an easy introduction to the place.

[shades_of_jean]

I'm... yeah. Thanks. [She wants to express how upset it makes her that Rogue has had to deal with that sort of thing, but she's not sure if she can find the words. She takes a deep breath, in through her nose, and lets it out, shifting gears, and smiling brightly again at Rogue.]
