[Fenimore happens to be passing by, trying to decide where would be best to watch the fireworks (perhaps there was a mention of them in the journal invitation or something), when she notices Ginia going...hmm. That's the direction of the teleporter. If it were longer before the fireworks, she might have thought Ginia was just going to pick something up -- Fenimore had thought about doing so earlier -- but by the time Ginia got back in that case, the fireworks would be already started. So she calls out, curious:]

You're not staying for the fireworks?
whiskytraitorfirefight: (STATUS: Concerned)

[personal profile] whiskytraitorfirefight 2014-03-03 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[With no one else around the teleporters, there can only be one person being spoken to. Ginia stops and looks over at Fenimore, offering a small wave. She takes a moment to take out her phone, typing out a quick message and approaching so Fenimore can read.]

I'm not a big fan of fireworks. Too loud.

[Too loud, too unpredictable, too much like gunfire and explosions, too much like celebrations for a country that's rotten to the core.]
blessingone: (and to you everything will seem normal)

[personal profile] blessingone 2014-03-04 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Fenimore looks skeptical. She didn't think they were that loud, having admittedly never watched them from anywhere particularly close and having very little to associate with gunfire. Still, she'll take Ginia's word for it that they are too loud for her.]

That's a shame. I haven't seen them very often, but they seemed really pretty to me. ...Come to think of it, they'd probably be less loud if you watched them from the windows of one of those cabins.

[She nods vaguely in the direction of one she'd passed recently, though it might not actually be visible from where they were standing with the trees around.]

[Ginia glances toward the aforementioned cabins. They're nice, quaint little places (a pity they weren't a permanent fixture) and she briefly considers spending the night there, but ultimately shakes her head.]

My dog is back at my apartment, I should make sure she's okay.

[Also true. But.... well, Ginia doesn't want to be entirely rude and there's still some time before the show begins.

Some part of her wishes she could stay and enjoy the show, but that's a time long past.]

Enjoy the festival?
blessingone: (and to you everything will seem normal)

this nearly became a 1/at least 5 before I thought better of it

[personal profile] blessingone 2014-03-04 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Fenimore shrugs at the first statement. She doesn't think it would take so long to just watch the fireworks that a dog would be in trouble, but she wasn't going to insist on it. She didn't think it was exactly a can't-miss thing.

As for the question, Fenimore considers this. After a moment of thinking about wandering the stalls and hanging out with friends, she nods with a small smile.]

Yeah. [And then, as she thinks about the sort-of-festival-date she went on with someone who she'd ended up in pink-heart with even before going on the date, her smile turns mildly goofy.] Yeah. [But then her smile drops suddenly as she thinks about some of the things that had happened, particularly her really awkward encounter with the Aztec hot chocolate. She looks mildly uncomfortable before frowning.] ...Well, most of it. It had its ups and downs.

[She shakes her head, not aware of how much her expression has migrated over those couple of sentences.]

How about you? Did you enjoy yourself?
whiskytraitorfirefight: (STATUS: Calm)

[personal profile] whiskytraitorfirefight 2014-03-06 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Ginia watches Fenimore's expression yo-yo back and forth, picking up on things. A good day, but also one of those days, possibly because of that accursed delicious hot chocolate.

She thinks over her own day. The food, the stalls, the cheesy musical entertainment, seeing familiar faces, getting very close with familiar faces... it was all honestly nice. Whatever fallout there'll be in the following days, who knows, but as far as the day was, things were nice.]

I had fun. It's a nice little festival. It'd be nice seeing things like this more often.

If only everything they did was something like this. I could take some of the weird parts to get spring weather in winter more often, especially since the weird parts aren't everywhere.

[By "they," she means the Malnosso. She just doesn't refer to them by name if she can help, worried that it'll draw their attention if they're looking in.]

It's too bad that it's not warm enough to really enjoy a swim in the lake, though.

[personal profile] whiskytraitorfirefight 2014-03-09 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's a little remarkable how easily the weather can be changed. It's nice, but strange. A reminder of the artificial nature of the enclosure.]

That's true. Though I've heard spring and summer are pretty nice around here. How are the lakes during those seasons?
blessingone: (we've been sitting here for hours)

[personal profile] blessingone 2014-03-11 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
They're much better then. [She shrugs.] Well, it doesn't really get warm enough until later on in spring to swim, but sometimes I go anyway. Winter's longer here than I'm really used to, or was used to. It takes a while to walk here -- and an even longer walk to the bigger lake -- but it's definitely worth it in the summer. It's cooler down by the water, under the shade of the trees, even if you don't feel like swimming.

[Which she seldom doesn't, unless there's someone already there.]
whiskytraitorfirefight: (STATUS: Complying)

[personal profile] whiskytraitorfirefight 2014-03-16 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
[It's certainly lovely around the lake. While it'll probably be busier once the weather turns nicer, it'll still be a peaceful place to escape too.]

I'll keep that in mind. Sounds like it'd be a good place to camp by.

[Ginia waves a hand at the teleporters.]

A pity these aren't staying around. But there's always the ocean.
blessingone: (like you could save me)

[personal profile] blessingone 2014-03-20 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Fenimore shrugs.]

It'd be convenient, but a part of me is glad they aren't staying. It'd be more crowded if it was this easy to come out this way, and I usually prefer a bit of privacy at the lake.

[No need of anyone finding her staying underwater longer than someone who couldn't breathe under there could be, or catching sight of her hair glowing.]

The ocean's a different story, though. It's a lot bigger, and trying to walk the whole way is a pain. [She pulls a bit of a grimace.] I tried once. I wouldn't recommend it.
whiskytraitorfirefight: (STATUS: Uneasy)

[personal profile] whiskytraitorfirefight 2014-04-02 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Ginia gives the area another look, picturing it without the stands and festivals. It'd be a beautiful area, very peaceful and quiet. So she can't blame Fenimore for liking some quiet.

She does raise an eyebrow at the mention of walking all the way to the ocean.]

Noted. Did you go through the mountains or through the tunnels?
