Heh. [Man don't even talk to him about candy. He's been a piece of candy. Coffee flavored, too.]

That's why I don't touch candy anymore. Ice cream is about the only sweet thing I'll even consider nowadays, besides drinks. Otherwise I can't even look at candy without feeling nauseous.

[Speaking of which, he'll just start drinking his hot chocolate.]

I have been having some trouble finding the things that are not so sweet here, to be honest.

[That's a frown from her, because... Admitting that is a little embarrassing. At least the hot chocolate or whatever it was called was a bit on the bitter side, even with some sweetness to balance it out. It doesn't feel like it's coating her mouth, anyway.]

... A lot of things are difficult to understand and acclimate to, here.

What, this festival or Luceti? [Despite his rough tone, and the more he drank of his hot chocolate, he began to feel a little less grouchy, and it didn't really bother him to talk to her.]

Luceti, really. I cannot say I mind the festival.

[It's strange to say that, really, but at the same time she's really all right with telling Vegeta this. It feels like he can be trusted with such conversation, like she can speak freely.]

You'd be surprised how far this place will push you out of your own boundaries, and sometimes against your will. [He's kissed MEN, Adela. OTHER MEN.] Some you'll come to enjoy, and some you wish would never happen again. It certainly opens your eyes to a few things.

[Huh... She blinks up at him, raising a brow at the words he's giving her. If she didn't know any better... But she does, doesn't she? He couldn't be trying to advise her...]

I'd say it depends on the person. Being bothered day in and day out by others has surprisingly been more tolerable than it ever was for me back at home. I fear some of these idiots just might be starting to grow on me.

[Luceti will never grow on him, but the people will. My god having friends might not be so bad.]

... I must admit, I am having difficulty learning my way around that sort of thing as well.

It is not something I have had to do before... There was never a need.

Heh, here you don't even get a choice. Infuriating, isn't it? But, I believe the phrase is, if you can't beat them, join them. And since I can't kill any of the fools around here...

[He lets that statement hang. He wouldn't of killed most of them anyway, but that wickedness in him shows sometimes.]

... It is difficult. It... Is a strange thing, I suppose, but before coming here I knew no one aside from my uncle. Not as a friend. So it is hard to immediately trust that those here are honest with their intentions towards me, or that I should act in kind to them.

It is something most children would have learned from a young age, is it not?

[She's just... Going to ignore the killing comment. Hopefully he just means on a moral level, since killing people kind of is wrong.]

I wouldn't know. [Nappa and Raditz don't count as friends. Maybe 'disposable colleagues'.]

Trunks and Bulla had plenty of friends growing up however, so I imagine your case is a little special. Earthling children are not so diabolical as you think, not in the way you're suggesting. Now, if we were speaking of mischief they tend to get into, that's another story.

[And does he have stories.]

It is not that I believe them to be diabolical, as you say. More that I am used to people being demanding, of trade and the like.

[She does huff a small laugh though, shaking her head with a smile.]

I can believe that something common in all children is mischief. It is part of how we discover the world, is it not?

I guess. [He rubs his forehead in frustration at the memories. He was certainly not the mischief type, no, not him. That was Trunks. He committed genocide as a child, so...he....doesn't really know how to respond to that.]

Perhaps it is just you Earthlings who explore the world that way. Not all of us were so privileged.

... No, at least not in my home. Not all children were so privileged - though, so far as I could tell, most children in the castle town could act that way.

[Her smile falls then and she shakes her head.] Some of the only mischief I recall getting into was trying to sneak into the forge in order to watch my uncle work. He would always forbid me from being in there until I was big enough - he saw it as too dangerous for a child.

Even so, I am envious that I never had such a chance to do so, since it feels more difficult to learn now that I am older.

That's probably because it was too dangerous for a child. But I see you didn't manage to get yourself killed, so I suppose there's that. Besides- [He gives a dismissive wave-] those kids in that town were probably nothing worth being upset about, now you can meet those who are far less irritating and won't get you into something ridiculous like drawing all over the walls in purple crayon or disabling important functions of machines you must use in your everyday life.

Anyway, I think what I'm trying to get at here is that you can teach an old dog new tricks, take it from me.

[There are a fair few moments of silence where it isn't a certainty if she's taking his words to heart or not. Her eyes go to the sky then, thoughtful... Before a smirk pulls at her lips.]

Are you speaking from experience, your highness?

[She can't help it, she laughs again and just shakes her head. At least she seems to be willing to let it drop then, more relaxed and visibly happier than she was.]
