[Xzana fully relaxes herself into Norma's hug. It feels nice, really nice. To have someone so close. She's never really hugged before, but she decides to try it. A scaled arm wrapping itself carefully around Norma in return. A very gentle squeeze in return as she takes lessons from how Norma is doing it. It feels nice and she wants to give some of this nice feeling back.]

[Norma blinks, though not at the contact - bursting peoples' personal bubbles has never ever been an issue - but more at how awkward and shaky this girl was. It was like she was just mirroring much of what she herself did. Did she really not...know how to give hugs? That's kind of strange, but then again...she's like, a dragon or something, right? Norma can't imagine dragons exactly giving out hugs.

Giggling softly, she releases Xzana only a little, just to pull back and look at her.]

Jeez, you're not used to this, huh?

No. [Stated plainly. There is no shame in being unable to do something you never before tried.] My mother and siblings, we would show comfort and enjoyment in other ways. I have found that most humans are not comfortable around my teeth.

[Not that love bites are meant to hurt. Scales are just tougher than flesh! It can be hard to get the pressure down right when you move from dragon to humans!]

[Oh. W-Well then. How...does she even really reply to that? Norma can't help but blink a moment before cracking up - covering her mouth with her hand to smother much of the sound. Imagining this girl with teeth like a shark and breathing fire is both terrifying and hilarious at the same time.]

You really are a dragon, huh? I mean...you're not exactly the spitting image if the ones I'm familiar with, aside from a few, uh...patches, but you're seriously a dragon? Really?

I am many things. My mother is a proud dragon with pure blood. We know little of my father. Mother does not enjoy speaking of him. [So she never really asked.] He was a water nymph, but mother is not sure he was pure of blood.

That is why I do not look as dragons you have seen before. [Easy to explain. She had come from a land where most could easily tell she was not a proper dragon.

The next part is something that she usually does not share.] Perhaps a different form would be closer to what you are use to. Would you prefer my larger form? I could change if you so wished.

[Xzana tried to stay in one form. Only changing when she had need to. Unlike her mother who could change easily it was uncomfortable for her. There were always benefits and disadvantageous to being half blood. A closer to human looking body, but a more painful transformation. This is an offer she only gave to those she thought above her or friends.]

[Blinking, Norma listens with interest. Ah, so she wasn't fully dragon...or, well, not entirely pureblood dragon. Some nymph and possibly something else. Human, maybe? Norma can only guess, since it seems a touchy subject for this girl. Should she have not asked? Probably, but what's done is done, and she can't take back what she said. Might as well just roll with it now, and try to relate. Norma actually can relate a little bit in this regard, too.

Different races, different "species", different blood... People on Melfes were persecuted for being of a different blood type than the other. Best not bring up the full story, though, talking about how segregated and violent the two races - Ferines and Orerines - were toward one another was just plain depressing.]

That's pretty cool... I mean, I think so. Being one of the flock's not exactly gonna catch anyone's eye, y'know? And maybe that's weird or bad or whatever to other people, but I think it just means you're special - you've got something others don't have.

Aaand let's not scare anyone off their picnic blankets! [She laughs nervously, holding up her hands.] You're good the way you are.

Indeed. My brothers and sisters have each grown in different ways. It is difficult to know just how the mixing of blood will change the growth in the litter. All those born this way have something that the others do not.

[She settles again. Having been ready to move away to give herself extra changing room if Norma had wished for her to change forms.] Very well. I cannot speak human words in my larger form. [It's one of the reasons she chose to remain mostly in this form in Luceti.]

If it is easier to imagine, I believe you found me once when I was transformed into a hatchling in this world. [And she thinks Norma might have been one of the humans she had scared off.] I have just gotten bigger since that time and my body has grown to be able to live for a short time away from the water.

[As that might be something Norma could feel, leaned up close to the girl. She hasn't been breathing.]

[This conversation would be way more up Will's alley, the big biology nerd that he is, but even Norma pays decent attention - a dragon and a nymph having children, each of the however many hatchlings having traits and qualities from each parents. It's definitely an interesting topic to explore, but Norma's attention span has never been the greatest, especially when a topic doesn't particularly interest her enough.

So of course she focuses on the topic about herself. Her vanity would allow nothing less.]

Oh, yeah! I remember that! Haahah!! Jeez, I was a real jerk, huh? [She can laugh about it now with the fuzzy feelings of the cocoa, but really...she feels bad about that. Acting like she used to be - greedy, selfish, and sneaky - isn't something Norma likes. She likes to think she grew up past that a little.] Well, you won't have to worry about that anymore, y'now? I'm waaaay past being that kinda lowlife crook!

[K-Kind of...]

Yes. You were. [Touchy, feely coco magic has not yet taught Xzana how a white lie works. In her mind Norma kinda was a jerk trying to catch her!] I am glad that you are not a- crook? Having a crocked body or home can be very painful.

[Yup. As that's what you mean by crook.]
