[One of the pinwheels goes flying in Asbel's direction. If they were a razor-sharp blade, it would surely spell the end for Asbel.

...but it's not, so it kind of bonks into his face and falls onto the ground. That prompts him to laugh even harder now.]

[Oh my god. Luke can't handle this. The uproarious laughter makes him unable to stand up, and he has to hug himself to keep from falling down and possibly dying.

[The laughter finally starts to die down, at least on Asbel's end. Mostly because it's suddenly interrupted by him coughing a few times. Laughing so hard when your throat's tender from choking on some curry is not a good idea, apparently.]

[Oh jeez. Luke settles down pretty quick, reaching over to help Asbel somehow. Uh, he's like, coughing... right? So he rubs Asbel's back, because that might help. Maybe.]

[He takes a deep breath and heaves a heavy sigh.]

...Y-yeah. Guess I overdid it a little there...

[Luke gives him one last pat.]

Figures. The one time I try to be funny I almost kill somebody.

It's not your fault. I was choking earlier on here. I guess my throat's still kind of tender.

Oh. Yeah, that'd do it.

[A pause. And then he holds his hand out.]

I'm Luke, by the way.

[He holds his own hand out in turn, and THE SHAKING OF HANDS COMMENCING. That is how friendship is born.]\

[Wait, is he entering into a pact?]

Nice to meet you, Asbel. [He grins.] Ever been to a festival before? This is my first, so I've been running around all over the place.

Not since I was a little kid. I was always so busy in the kingdom I never really had the chance.

[He really kind of wishes he did go to all those festivals that happened in Windor.]

Busy? Like what?

[Is he an adventurer? O:]

My studies at the Knight Academy didn't really leave me much free time.

[wildsaber]

[His eyes widen.]

Knight academy?

[Come to think of it, he's not actually sure how knights come to be. Is it like enlisting in the military?]

I didn't know they had a school for that.

Of course. How do you think people learn to be knights?

I thought it was just another part of the military.

[He scratches the back of his head.]

Kind of? But there's a lot to being a knight. There's a strict code of conduct you have to learn and follow.

A code of conduct? Like how you greet strangers?

[Excuse him, he's thinking of the knights he grew up around.]

[He feels kinda stupid now.]

It's more like... How you behave, the rules you have to follow...

Oh... I guess that makes sense.

[Luke would probably end up getting kicked out for stuff he didn't know-- not for lack of trying, though.]

I think anyone can be a knight, as long as they want to protect something.
