[Well! Thankfully Ion always has his journal on him, so he just takes that out and rips a blank page out, handing it and a pen to Kohan.]

[Surely he should be able to write just fine, right?]

[ Kohan takes it and stares at it for a moment, uncertain. Then he hesitantly writes down, ]

Testing?

[ ... Well, that went well enough. Holding it up so Ion can read. ]

...oh, it works! [One word may not be enough to really test if it'll hold or not, but it seems good enough for Ion!]

At least this way we won't have to sit here in complete silence until it wears off!

[ Kohan nods and writes on the page again. ]

Yeah. It's not much but it's come sort of conversation.

[ He holds it up again, not even noticing the Freudian slip just yet... ]

[Let's not forget now who he's "talking" to -- Ion's first thought is that it's just a simple spelling mistake, not even worth mentioning.]

Yes, thankfully it looks like that hot chocolate only affected your ability to talk normally. I don't think we'd be able to stay in here if it had affected you like it had affected me earlier... [Not without locking one of them in a closet or something until it wore off.]

I guess it was good that I only tried the one. If I'd had both, we'd probably already be under the cover

Kohan stares at the page for a couple seconds, then heaves a sigh. ]

Really...?

Well, maybe there's nothing wrong with just sitting in silence after all?

... We don't have to. I can just... I don't know. I can talk anyway if the other stuff doesn't bother you too much.

[He shakes his head.] It doesn't bother me, even if it is a little embarrassing... but I don't want to make you feel obligated to talk when it makes you feel uncomfortable saying things like that.

[Which kinda makes it seem like they're stuck, huh.]

[ ... yup. Kohan's just gonna... drop the piece of paper now. ]

Please don't apologize. You can't help it, after all. And besides, I was the one who insisted on getting hot chocolate in the first place... I should have known better.

You had no way of knowing it would change. It's not your fault.

[He doesn't really reply to that, since... well, he doesn't agree with it. It's hard not to feel at least a little guilty when Kohan is the only still suffering and not Ion.]

[So instead he just scoots a bit closer to Kohan and rests his head on his shoulder. If Kohan still can't talk, then maybe neither of them should? They can still enjoy each other's company just fine!]

[...the guilt isn't really helping though.]

[ Sob, Ion, don't feel guilty.

After a couple seconds, Kohan puts a hand on Ion's. Enjoying company in silence sounds good right now. ]

[Unfortunately just telling him not to feel guilty isn't really enough to make him stop feeling that way.]

[So they'll just sit there quietly. It'll drag on like this for a few minutes at least before Ion breaks the silence.]

...do you want to try talking again?

[Surely it's been long enough for it to have worn off, right?]

[ ... Well, so far so good. ]

Do you feel any different? I didn't notice how the hot chocolate effected me until it went away, so perhaps you'd be able to feel it as well?

[Though his wasn't quite as dramatic a change as it had been for Ion, short though it may have been.]

Not... really. I wasn't meaning to say weird things anyway. But maybe I'm just not over it yet...

[ But he still feels like he might at any moment. Or he's worried that he might. It's really hard to tell. ]

Even if I'm over it, I'm not sure I'll be able to tell. I guess, it's less likely, but... still can't really say for sure, can we?

Well, as long as it doesn't happen again, I don't think we need to worry about it anymore. But if it is still bothering you even after waiting this long, perhaps I should just go get a cup of it myself so you don't have to be the only one getting embarrassed?

[Their combined innuendos would probably make both their heads explode though.]

[ The look of shock that hits Kohan's expression is more than enough to say that he thinks this is a Very Bad Idea. ]

[Meanwhile Ion's face just stays the same smile as before -- it's hard to tell whether he was being serious or not.]

It doesn't seem like it will be necessary, at least. I haven't heard you say anything strange yet, so the effects must have finally worn off!
