A Gaang Reunion

Summary: Toph and Zuko arrive at the house and information is shared.

Thanks to Appa, the journey to the village was significantly shorter than if he and Toph had walked. Which Zuko took note of as he watched the terrain pass beneath them while on the bison's back. 

Once they were in contact with the ground again, Zuko effortlessly slid off Appa's back and looked at the house that now stood before them. It was no palace, but it was certainly a decent size. 

"Hello?" he called out. Though Zuko was sure that Appa's arrival hadn't gone unnoticed.

[Why was everyone else from the past? With the exception of Avatar Korra and Aangs granddaughter of course.]

Yes, you will find there are many such time changes here. I was able to meet people from over seventy years in the future, including the next incarnation in the avatar cycle, Korra.

It is an incredible thing. There are people from all different sorts of worlds, and time periods.

Imagine a whirlpool. It spins around and around, and can catch things and drag them deep down to new locations. Apparently this will happen from time to time, individuals will be drawn from all different universes.

This world draws people in, trapping them for a time. Some will be stuck for some time, others will come and go. As to why this happens, I am uncertain.

[He has a sip of tea]

The Malnosso however take advantage of the phenomena that happens on this world, and use us to help them against their enemies. As well, they also conduct experiments known as Shifts upon select individuals and the whole enclosure of Luceti.

So we're stuck in a giant space whirlpool?

[Forgive his skepticism. He's always had a hard time understanding his uncles metaphors.]

I've heard about the Malnosso. That they're very powerful but also incompetent.

It is where the waters meet from different directions. As you may or may not know the oceans follow different streams, there are points where they meet up. Think of this place as sort of along those lines, but along a greater scale than even our world.

[Iroh strokes his beard]

Yes, that seems to be the general consensus. They lack a strong solidified leadership and seem to be sort of run a bit like a merchants guild rather than a formal sort of military.

Then it's no wonder they can't defeat their own enemies. And they're pulling us into their war?

[He doesn't like that one bit.]

Yes, though it seems to be primarily a volunteer basis. It does give you access to certain bonuses not otherwise available.

[lordhotman]

What do you mean?

[tea_lover64]

Well, when you do missions for the Malnosso, some of which have an element of danger, others which are more simple work, you gain mission points which can then be used to bring in items from home, or other worlds.

[Zuko considers this with a frown. None of this sat well with him, but it is what it is. He was just there, but now home seemed so far away.]

[Speaking of home. His face lights up a little.]

[Iroh raises a brow at this]

I found her. My mother.

[tea_lover64]

[Iroh breaks out in a big smile]

[He smiles, though its bittersweet.]

Not only that, but I have another sister too.

You have another sister? What is her name?

[lordhotman]

Half sister, actually. Her name is Kiyi.

[tea_lover64]

That makes sense. What a cute name.

[Always happy to have more members of the family that weren't crazy]

Is your mother happy where she is?

[lordhotman]

Yeah, she is.

[And he's very glad of it too.]

Well, that is what is important, and that you know of her fate as well.
