[You know he's gotten pretty good about foreign names (or ones that are foreign sounding to him), but that also works on the basis of people he meets. He's met one Jean already. Different last name, but that Jean is a dude.

Good. If you haven't noticed yet, we got a problem--

[Jean's first reaction upon looking through the open door is to want to splutter with indignation and cover Masaomi up. Much like she had woken up in her own pajamas, clearly Masaomi had as well. ... Only he slept much more closer to nude than Jean did. And no-one here needed to be looking at Jean in that degree of naked.

This passes quickly, though, as she can see, clearly, something's wrong.]

Masaomi? [She hopes that's him, at least.] Masaomi, are you alright? What's wrong?

[She has a grim suspicion she knows the problem. Her powers have been missing since she woke up in this body. Apparently, they're not lost at all; just still embedded in her body. And now Masaomi's mind is along for the ride.]

Ah... haha, that's me. [ And he grips the side of his head. Some slight tears are forming in his eyes, particularly in light of how distressed the two other people in the room are. He's not even trying to hear them, but he can hear a lot... but can't make sense of the information. Like a crowded room full of people whispering, but it feels like he keeps hearing his own name. He barely can process that he's exposing most of Jean's body as he shifts his position on the bed. Dignity can come after he reigns this in ]

Everything seems... loud. ... This body must hear well.

[ He's also not quite collected whose body it is. Or who is talking to him now with. .. that's clearly his own body. Is someone touching him? ]

[In being not prepared, where Jean immediately ducked in, Shikamaru stepped right the fuck back out into the hallway, against a wall instead of in sight from the door.

If they ask, I saw nothing.

He gets over his embarrassment quickly at least, listening to the conversation inside.]

What's he talking about?

I think-- I think he got my telepathy along with my body. He's hearing people's thoughts. [Jean explains quickly, going to Masaomi's side, and putting her hands on the outsides of his shoulders, letting him physically feel her presence.]

Did you hear that, Masaomi? You're dealing with some strong telepathy, but you have the ability to control it. You just need to focus. Focus on the sound of my voice and your breathing. In and out and in and out.

[The professor went through this with her. He was able to help because of his own mental powers. Jean hopes (hopefully quietly, where Masaomi won't overhear) that she can actually help him, despite lacking her powers, currently.]

[ What. That just makes him even more paranoid, thinking back to what he might have thought back when they had interacted before. Particularly when they were flirting out by the lake, which just makes him reach out more, trying to hear, now. As if the thoughts in her - his? - head are now going to have beeb judges, or she'll know more or...

It's actually making him not hear her physical words though ]
