This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

• The day 3 arrival of the draftees and the 6 hours that follow until the bomb is dropped

[Laura has no idea what to say, what she is supposed to say or even if there is something she is supposed to say. He obviously saw what she was doing, and she remembered how other people reacted. How her mother had reacted. So finally she just shrugs.]

I just am.

[It wasn't true, but did they have time for it not to be?]

I don't understand. [He shakes his head numbly.] I mean, we just... we're alive again, Laura! We're alive. [He doesn't look too joyful, though, as much as he's focusing on the "now alive" half of the equation.] So, so then, why...?

[girlverine]

[Laura remains silent for several seconds before she shakes her head.]

I don't know.

[She really didn't. It was just a coping mechanism she had used for as long as she could remember.]

[He looks on, distraught.]

I- I'm sorry. [Has he been pushing her too much for an explanation?] I don't know how to help, but I want to. We've all been hurt enough already...

[girlverine]

[Laura just shrugs again and looks away, under the pretense of looking around.]

We should get back to work.

[wildbluevagner]

I guess. [He says uncertainly.] Let's just... be careful out there. Okay?

[girlverine]

[She nods, and then offers a thin smile.]

My powers work completely out here. I am...difficult to kill, I will be fine.

[Unless another bomb goes off, anyway.]

I sure hope so. Just don't worry if I end up watching your back anyways. [He knows that Shifters are a thing, after all. And he's a bit concerned as well, wondering how much she could be hiding.]
