This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

• The day 3 arrival of the draftees and the 6 hours that follow until the bomb is dropped

I dunno that one, Kid. [Cliff shrugged, an open armed gesture that seemed to say that his hands were clean of this entire situation, and he shook his head. This, at least, was a subject that was far easier to speak of.

It had more distance from that thing they had all jut seen.]

You'll need to find someone who's died to answer that for ya. But, if we're lucky and we can move quick, there might not be anymore this round.

[He sighed, gaze trailing over to her hand-- and her pistol.]

...Is that the kind of gun you like to use? [He asked, remembering their prior conversation. It wasns't a bad looking piece at all, given what little he understood about firearms.]

Damn... [She was really hoping he could answer that question. Oh well, she'll find someone else.

Upon mentioning the pistol, Karis picks it back up, studying it for a moment.] Y-yeah, to a degree. It's not exactly made for spellslingers, unfortunately, so I can't really use the full extent of my magic with it, but it works, and that's good enough for me.

[Spellslingers...he would need to ask her more about that word another time. For now, there were more immediate concerns.]

...If there was a shop around, I'd offer to tweak it for ya, but that ain't the case for now. As a gunner, you probly prefer the back lines and having some cover, right?

Right. [She nods, a bit of a smirk starting to form on her face.] Well, a gunner and a mage, really. But it's all the same.

[Cliff grinned as well, more for the familiarity of the description than anything else.]

Gunner and mage? That's even better-- it sounds like my boss, even if we don't call it 'magic' back home

That so? [He's encountered a spellslinger before? Excellent.] Sounds like you know how to work with those in my field. I'm guessing if we tag team, then we'll have a pretty deadly combo going on. [And she's all for that!]

[He wouldn't exactly use those words... but his boss was something very special in his universe. He grinned.]

No kiddin'! You just stick by me and my team and you'll be fine. One of my friends-- Fayt, the guy with the blue hair-- also did some work with my boss back home. We'll keep ya safe.

So you guys'll watch my back, and I'll watch yours. [She smiles.] I'm fine with this, it's better to fight as a group than on one's own.

Yeah-- 'specially here, we'll need all the help we can get.

No kidding. [Karis slowly comes to a stand, and with her mind off of dying, she can keep herself up.] Though we should also get started again as soon as possible. We don't want to wait too long...

Yeah, I know. [Cliff offered her a hand up.] Just stick nearby, and my team'll keep you safe.

[She happily takes his hand.] I'll be sure to! And hey, I plan on contributing to keeping them safe as well! It's the least I could do!
