This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

[Rogue arrives after Loki, and finding Mia is a sharp band of relief. She doesn't say anything, not at first, just wraps the other girl in a quick, tense hug.]

[The hug is a surprise, but she hugs back, tight, before registering either surprise or friendship. Her breath catches, a sound like a quiet sob.]

[touchofrogue]

[Rogue hears the quiet sob and so she doesn't immediately pull away.]

It's over now. [She whispers it.] Put it away. Put it away an' breathe.

I'm trying. [She whispers, too. Breathe, she can do that, it's still harsh breathing but she has a rhythm now instead of the frantic half-crying she had before.] I'm sorry.

[touchofrogue]

It's okay. It's okay. [Rogue worked on her own breathing, trying to keep it even, stay in the Now.] You've got nothin' to be sorry about. Just be here. Be here with me now.

[It isn't often she needs this kind of comfort and lets it happen.

A little while more and Mia settles, less shaky, closer to calm.]

Thank you, Rogue. [It's still a whisper.] We, we should find the others.

[touchofrogue]

It's all right. It's all right. We will in a minute. [She keeps holding on, because Mia is as important as anyone else.]

[It means more than she has words for that Rogue, of all people, would hold her like this. To have this much time to collect herself is quite a gift, too. A humorless laugh, just one, escapes as Mia lifts her head.]

I feel like I should be the one doing this for you.

[touchofrogue]

[Rogue pats Mia on the shoulder and speaks wryly.]

Don't worry. I've got my breakdown scheduled for 11pm, sharp. I'll be sure ta pencil you in.

I'll be there, then. [It's Mia who pulls away, but not too far. If she doesn't, she'll end up clinging to Rogue indefinitely.]

What happened to us? Why- what was that?

[What was every single moment of that whole torturous experience, please.]

[And Rogue lets her go.]

There's a message on the journal explainin' it. The long an' short of it is, that's what it's like to be sacrificed. And now we're two days back in time ta try and find the bomb that made it possible and stop it.

[Sacrificed. Mia shivers, one hand in a tight fist over her heart. Only now, so long after realizing she was alive, does she notice her missing injuries, too - from a day that hasn't happened yet. From a day they have the chance to change.]

Then we have to stop it.

[touchofrogue]

An' we will. [Rogue gives Mia a tight smile.] It'll be a long time 'fore a bunch of flying psychopaths with a death fixation get the better of us. Not when we've got time ta stop them. And now we do.

[She says it like she's confident, because in many ways, she is. Every time but once, they've come out winners against the Cultists. Even when they had invaded Luceti and taken over their minds and they didn't know who they were, they had managed to beat them back. She has confidence in her team and confidence in the people they're fighting with. But she also says it like a Team Leader, because there is no other alternative. They will beat them. They have to, so they will.]

[Well. If Rogue believes it.

Mia can't bring herself to smile in response, but she does reach for Rogue's hands and squeeze them once, quickly. Thank you.]

Then we really do need to get to the others.

[A nod. And again, Rogue doesn't recoil. There are bigger things than her space issues.]
