This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

• The day 3 arrival of the draftees and the 6 hours that follow until the bomb is dropped

[Iroh shakes his head, and has a bit of a disappointed look on his face]

If this is a joke, Zuko, it isn't a very appropriate or funny one. I think you've been hanging around Azula too much.

Don't be too hard on him, Dad, he just isn't used to me yet, give him some time, he'll come around.

Of course, given time, I'm sure he will.

[Yet there was something that nagged at him about what Zuko said, he didn't want to believe it... yet, no. This felt right]

[At this Zuko is shocked, maybe even a little hurt. However, he quickly shakes it off. His uncle just isn't himself, especially when being confronted with such a convincing lie.]

It's not a joke! One of those shifters is doing this!

[He then marches towards "Lu Ten".]

Get out of his head! This is cruel!

[Iroh shakes his head, how could that be possible?]

It might be a little strange, but it is possible, isn't it?

[His tone sounds a bit more unsure]

Of course it is possible, Zuko is just getting mad because he thinks I'll take his place. He doesn't see how good it will be, just like the old days.

That does make sense. Yes, don't worry Zuko. No matter what, you will always have a special place in my heart.

No, that's not it at all.

[Zuko calms himself and tries to be more reasonable.]

Uncle, I know how hard its been for you. And I wish this was real. But its not. You have to believe me. Please, just trust me.

[Quietly and with a solemn tone]

I don't think you do know Zuko, and I pray you never do. A parent should not have to bury a child.

[There are tears in his eyes as he looks at Zuko and then at Lu Ten]

Come on father, I've got to tell you all about that has happened to me since.

[Zuko just ignores the fake Lu Ten at this point.]

I'm sorry, Uncle.

[He wishes Iroh didn't have to go through this. This is the last thing he deserved.]

You have to destroy him. I can't do anything from here.

[Iroh looks over at Lu Ten. There was truth in what Zuko was saying, he knew, but did he have to destroy him?]

Destroy him? Why would I need destroy him?

He's with the third party. If you don't end him, there's no telling what he'll do with you!

[He knew this was a lot to ask of his uncle, but he saw no other options. He already tried to attack the shifter, but it didn't work.]

[Lu Ten... no it wasn't truly Lu Ten was it? It started saying some things, but Iroh blocks it out]

Can you escape out of here, Zuko?

[His tone has lost something about it, and become rather flat]

[There's a pause for a moment as Zuko attempts to get out.. but to no avail.]

No, I can't. I'm stuck in here too.

[Iroh nods grimly. His expression darkens for a moment as he moves his body into a familiar stance. His eyes glisten as he looks at the face of his son. He had spent much time just to get a glimpse of him again, and here it was given freely, just to be taken away again.]

Damn them for making me do this.

[He closes his eyes a moment and tears stream down his face. He takes a breath in, and feels the energy swirl around him as electricity fills the air, he releases it in a jolt at Lu Ten, and after seeing him collapse, follows suit. It was not something that anyone should have to do]

[And as Iroh unleashes his lightning, Zuko is forced to watch his own cousin fall. He knows it's not really Lu Ten but... It's still not easy to watch. He can only imagine what his uncle feels.

The deed done, Zuko goes to Iroh and bends down beside him.]

I'm... So sorry, Uncle.

[He really didn't know what else to say.]

[Iroh reaches his hand out to Zuko, there are no words he can say that will help him, but just being there will have to do for now. He knew that he could not allow himself long for grieving such a thing, given the circumstances, but some time was needed. It had all felt so real]

[As Iroh reaches out to him, Zuko moves forward and embraces his uncle in a hug. Yeah, sometimes its better just to go without words.]
