This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

You should be careful Master Obi-Wan, by saying such things you are implying I am quite dull.

"I'm afraid I'm not nearly witty enough to extricate myself gracefully, so I shall content myself with another sip of tea."

Well, at least you are gracious in self defeat, I can appreciate that. Personally I think excitement and grandeur are overrated. These are not things that are needed to have a full life. I will take dull over a battle any day.

[He chuckles again.]

"...Are you accustomed to battle?"

I shall be quite careful not to endear myself too much.

[He laughs in return]

All too well, I am afraid. I grew up in the middle of the hundred years war, and served in the military for most of my life.

"I'm sorry to hear it."

[But at least he would not be overwhelmed and defenseless. Such a kindly and pleasant fellow had no business in a war.]

"Sometimes I feel like soldiers never truly escape war. I was a hermit in the desert for all of three months before one found me again."

[And after another twenty years in the desert, he knows it will find him once more. That's depressing.

That's so depressing, it calls for another cup of tea.]

Well, we don't get to choose when we are born, or what issues we must deal with, only what we can do to change.

That is unfortunate. Destiny can be a harsh thing.

I know how that do, trust me.

That is perfectly alright. There is nothing wrong with voicing your concerns. It is not as though you were complaining of not having a suitable grooming kit. Though I have known some who would.
