This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

[ Ash follows her to the best he possibly could. He focuses on her words in order to try and ignore the pain. ]

Yea, that's me. You're um.. [ he's trying to remember if Red said any names. It's hard when his head is a mess but he manages to remember something. ] Saori?

[windandrain]

[She'd offer some healing but there's always the worry that Shift Hunters will be attracted to them, so all she can do is offer a helping hand.

And a flicker of surprise.]

Yes, that's right. I'm Saori. And you don't have to call me ma'am.

Ah... sorry.

[ He rubs the back of his head in small embarrassment. ]

It's nice t' meet you, Saori. Thanks again for your help. So um.. where are we goin'?

[windandrain]

[She points towards a building a few blocks away, the one she and Obi-Wan had boarded up.][She's not taking no for an answer, either.]

[ Ash nods before going quiet as he continues to follow Saori. Normally he would find some other thing to say but everything that's happened has made him a lot quieter than he normally is. ]

[windandrain]

[And she'll lead Ash over to the building with as much haste as she can. Once they get inside, she boards everything up and starts up a flight of stairs. On each step is a glowing symbol, pulsing with a blue-white electrical current.]

We're safe for the moment now, Ash. My wards will keep the enemy out. Follow me.

[ Ash keeps up with her as much as he could. He starts to follow her up the flight of stairs, watching his steps carefully as to not end up tripping and falling. He wasn't sure what these glowing symbols are. Maybe the wards she just mentioned? He doesn't know but if it keeps them safe... ]

--Ah, coming.

[ Limping after you like a puppy Saori. ]

[If he needs help getting up them, she's there, never far ahead. It's only two flights, all the way up to the third floor and into a room full of comfortable looking furniture. A soft bed, couches, chairs, all of it seemingly moved into this one central room, a shelter without windows. Each wall has another symbol on it, and she closes the door behind them, activating yet another.]

Go, have a seat while I get some things together. [She slips into a side room, a bathroom by the looks of it.]

[ There was a stumble or two while he's going up the stairs but he pushes himself to not have to ask for help. When they arrived into the room he was... surprised. He didn't expect something like this. Not where they are and what has been happening.

He goes and sits on the bed - softer than expected - and waits for Saori to come back from the bathroom. Pikachu hops down and curls up on Ash's lap in the meantime. ]

[windandrain]

[She's only gone a moment, returning with a bowl, a rag, and a pitcher of heated water.]

Alright, let's get you cleaned up first.

[Crossing the room, she dips the cloth into the warm water while she inspects him.]

Tell me, where are you injured? Where hurts? I'll do what I can, though I'm not a great doctor.

[ Ash nods his head. Getting cleaned up sounds like a good plan though he's not looking forward to the stinging that it going to come from it. ]

Ah.. [ He wants to say everywhere because everywhere does hurt. His arm and back don't feel as bad as they were earlier but he still had some pretty dark bruises and cuts nearly everywhere.

But if he had to pick on place that currently hurt the most it would be-- ]

My foot really hurts.

[windandrain]

Then I'll start there.

[She kneels down and gently rolls up his pant legs, and carefully starts to remove the shoes as well. What is it she finds?]

[ Ash bites back the pain as his shoes are removed. Both of his legs has bruises and cuts but his left one is swollen with a bigger, darker bruise. ]

[windandrain]

[Saori clucks her tongue and frowns, pulling the water bowl closer and beginning to clean the injuries.]

It's not bad. You're going to need a doctor when you can, but I'll bandage what I'm able to do. I can't...use Nala to heal you, though. It'll draw the Shift Hunters and I don't want to give up this hiding place.

[ Ash grips the sheets on the bed because ow ow that stings. Going to try and focus on what she's saying instead of the injuries she's cleaning. ]

Nala?

[ He's never heard of that before ]

[windandrain]

One of the spirits in Luceti. The healing spirit.

[Gently, she continues her work with rote precision, watching his face instead of his foot.]

Using their magic draws the enemy's dogs.

[ Ash's face twists a bit in pain when she seemed to touch a more delicate spot but he tries and keeps the focus on the topic. ]

Why does that happen?

[windandrain]

Because it's how they hunt, presumably. They sense them, and think food. Or they've been taught to by the enemy, so they can find us easier.

[friendshipfirst]

I didn't know anythin' can do that. [ Well.. in a way yes, but not in any way that isn't Pokemon. ] It doesn't matter as long as y' don't use it, right?

[windandrain]

[Evil, angry Pokemon Ash.]

Right. You need a shift to attract them.

[While she's had him distracted, she gotten his foot cleaned up and bandaged too.]

How's that feel?

[ No let's not think about that. ]

So as long as there isn't one we're okay?

[ Ash blinks. Oh she's done. He can't help but smile just a little with how easy that was since he was distracted. ]

It feels a lot better than before, thank you.

[ It's still throbbing but now that he can't move it so easily it won't hurt as much. ]

[windandrain]

Basically, yes.

[Now she stands up and turns her attention to Pikachu.]

How about you, little one? Are you feeling tired?

Pi?

[ Pikachu was actually starting to doze off a little before the attention was brought to him. Well that answers that question. ]

[windandrain]

[She holds out her arm for him to hop up on if he wants.]

Come here. I'll give you a boost, like I've done for Red's Pikachu.

[ Pikachu does so because hey you helped his trainer and he's pretty sure his trainer has registered you as a friend so why not.

Meanwhile Ash tilts his head a little to the side. ]

Hm? Y' can do that?
