This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

• The day 3 arrival of the draftees and the 6 hours that follow until the bomb is dropped

[Cliff caught the sound as well, and was already scanning around the area for any breaks in whatever meager holdings were in place.]

Yeah, just different places. We never met before getting here.

Ah, I see. [ She nods. ] It wouldn't be the first time I've heard of an occurrence like that, though it seems less common for the enclosure --

[ She stops her train of thought as the sound of flapping indicates the position of cultists flying over a nearby wall. ] -- Damn. Here they come.

[Any shred of annoyance that Cliff felt was quickly replaced by excitement over the thrill of a potential fight. At least it was just the foot soldiers and not the dogs, judging by the sound of the wingbeats, although Cliff would need a way to get them on the ground before he could fully attack.]

Yeah, they are-- tell me you've got just healing artes in your library, 'cause this could get interesting.

I have a few other spells and techniques at the ready.

[ Though she doesn't intend to draw any beasts into the area with filial magic if she can help it. As it is, she's already shifting her stance, preparing for when the airborne cultists get to just within the limits of her range. Wait for it... ]

[Because, with a spellcaster in the back, that was simply the most efficient strategy. Lacking any ranged abilities himself, Cliff knew that his options in this fight were limited.]

[ There isn't much preamble that goes along with this spell. A glyph forms just beneath the area where the cultists are approaching, and then - ]

Ray!

[ Beams of light strike the cultists at an angle, temporarily knocking them down and injuring them - at least there are only three of them until their reinforcements start showing up - and the one in the center doesn't have enough time to avoid the final powerful beam.

Hopefully Cliff is already moving toward them before they can attempt to take to the air again, though Raine is quick to start focusing for another spell. ]
