This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

• The day 3 arrival of the draftees and the 6 hours that follow until the bomb is dropped

All right.

[And with that, Zuko sheaths his swords and moves towards the tunnel's entrance. Though he pauses too when the question is asked.]

No, but after all the screaming last night...

[He doesn't expect it to be good.]

[Obi-Wan doesn't respond. He's not certain what to say. How to prepare him further for what lay within Zompania's walls.

It's a relatively short route through the sewer tunnels to the rubble that leads to the street above...

And the bodies. The endless, butchered bodies.

And there, Obi-Wan pauses, waiting for Zuko. Seeing something like this... one needed another's presence. If only to feel less vulnerable.]

"If you need a moment, take it. I did."

[All sorts of mental images had gone through his mind as they walked through the sewer with the blood stained water. But it still did not prepare him for what was on the other side.

He may have seen horrible things in the past... but nothing even remotely close to this.

Bodies... everywhere. All stacked up on each other. The screams they had heard were now massacred corpses.

Zuko is visibly shaken, and he takes a step back, his eyes wide. Obi-Wan's words are heard but unanswered as he feels his stomach lurch. Turning away the boy leans against a wall and empties what little was in said stomach.]

[Obi-Wan watches with concern, reaching out a hand to rest against the young man's shoulder, if only to give a sense of solidarity and comfort.]

"Are you going to be alright?"

[lordhotman]

[Zuko closes his eyes for a moment, then feels a pang of embarrassment as he realizes that Obi-Wan is still there.

He quickly wipes his mouth with the back of his hand as he tries to compose himself. Though the attempt at comfort doesn't go unappreciated.]

Yeah. I have to be.

[There really isn't much choice if he wants to get through this. But still, this has certainly shaken the boy to his core.]

[averybadfeeling]

"Good. There will be time to mourn the losses later."

[He pats Zuko's shoulder then withdraws his hand, then turns back to keep an eye out for threats- and help Zuko feel less scrutinized.]

"I'd tell you it gets easier, but I'm afraid it doesn't."

[lordhotman]

[He says nothing to the pat on the shoulder, trying not to look at the bodies, though he does spare one pitying glance.]

What did they do to these people?

[And WHY?]

[The reality of what had been done would only make it more horrible, but Obi-Wan isn't one to mince words. Not without good reason. And there was no reason to withhold his suspicions from Zuko.]

"I cannot be certain, I've never seen it before... but I believe they have been permanently sacrificed by the Third Party."

[lordhotman]

What?

[Sacrificed? Permanently? He thought in this place people came back after a week. And sacrificed for what? These are questions that are clearly on his mind but he's so stunned by this that the words fail him.]

"I don't know why. But the ultimate goal of the Third Party is to perform this ritual on everybody in this world. It's a form of death that prevents us from returning in the usual fashion of this world."

[He sighs.]

"Come. We should move on."

It's okay. <3 We can stop here if you want.

[Zuko's brow furrowed slightly at the explanation, but he shook his head, trying not to think about it too much. Not now at least.]

You're right.

[So with that he'll follow Obi-Wan and keep a look out for his uncle and Wan.]
