This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

• The day 3 arrival of the draftees and the 6 hours that follow until the bomb is dropped

Yeah. I'm no good at this stealth stuff, but if I can keep their attention, then people who're good at that stuff'll handle it, right?

[ He even smirks a bit, tapping the back of his sword against one of his shoulders. If anything, the pupils of his eyes seem to briefly flash red for his confidence ]

[Oh Steve has no doubt this kid can keep their attention. Which is good, because the better distraction they have, the easier it'll be for people doing the 'stealth stuff' like him.]

That's the plan. The bigger the distraction the better. So you guys will probably have the toughest job.

[rashness]

I dunno, I think the people who gotta deal with the bomb got it rougher.

[ But... he can't dwell on that. He doesn't want to think about dying again. He instead exhales and smiles a little before- ] So how're we getting up there?

[neversurrender]

Yeah, but their job would be a lot harder without us. [Which is the truth. But there is still a lot more riding on the team going after the bomb than on any of them.]

Figure out who in our group can fly people up there, I guess. Or teleport people. Or...whatever else might be useful in moving people from one place to another.

[rashness]

I think I could jump up there . . . But I could probably only carry one person.

[ So it'd be more practical to wait on either of those. He thinks of Kurt, as a result ]

We'll need everyone to do what they can. One person is still one more person up there then there was before.

[rashness]

Do you know what you're doing? Two of us could go up right now.

[ Jerking his thumb at his face ]

If you mean do I know what the best way to damage the airships is, then no. My philosophy is target things that look important. But I do know a little about piloting if it's needed.

[rashness]

Oh. I was kinda thinking we were just planning to sink 'em and then just get off them before they do. Not like I know how to do any of the piloting stuff or ... other stuff.

We can give it a try. It sounds like as solid a plan as any. Besides, I don't think there's one better way to do it. The situation on each airship may be different and we have to plan accordingly.

[rashness]

[ ...!

Okay then, he spreads his arms a little, after he adjusts himself. Oh wait, actually - ] Can you hold my sword?

[neversurrender]

[He holds a hand out for the sword.]

Alright, thanks! [ And he hands over Kurikara. It's just a typical katana. In Steve's hands, it's not even on blue fire like it was in Rin's. But then Rin tries to best figure out how to pick up some buff dude who's taller than him. Finally, he concludes that if he wraps around the waist that might... do it... And wow okay he can lift him easily enough, but the guy does weigh more than he thought he would. ]

[He shifts just slightly so he can avoid hitting Rin with his own sword. There is no avoiding exactly how awkward it is for a teenage boy to be lifting him up, but he tries not to thinking about it for long.]

...Okay?

[rashness]

Try not-- to drop anything!

[ He then starts to move. It's slow at first, but then be breaks into a run despite lifting up the guy, and finally, when he's pretty sure he's in line with one of the airships, he roars, and he jumps.

From a run, he's able to jump a good forty odd feet in the air, and --- and that's not quite high enough. So once he gets up that high, he tries to throw Steve the remaining distance and maybe Rin will grab onto some of the ropes hanging off the edge of the ship or something.

[He wasn't sure what to expect once Rin first got going, but he remains silent and allows the boy to do what he needs to. Once they're in the air Steve makes sure to keep a good grip on Rin's sword since his shield is already secured.

He's definitely not expecting to be thrown. Maybe he should be upset about that. Later. After he's managed to land halfway inside the airship platform, having to pull himself all the way inside by his arms.

Once inside he gives a quick look around outside the airship, trying to spot where Rin wound up. He spots the boy on the ropes...and that's when the cultists notice him and the fight is on. Hope Rin won't mind Steve using his sword as a blocking device.]

Are you okay?! [ He's not sure if his voice'll carry - but he's in no position to object to the sword thing, because he's struggling on climbing up this rope and hoping no one has noticed him down here while he's vulnerable. Still, they made it up, right?! None of those big winged jerks could have been expecting that. So he makes to get up this (wow this wind feels cold) so he can get up there and help out the Cap ]

[Steve is still close enough to the side of the platform for Rin's voice to reach his ears. However, he's not exactly in a good position to respond immediately. He ducks under the fist of one of the cultists and dodges out of the way of one who lunges towards him...and goes right over the side. Maybe that's enough of an answer for the boy.]

For the moment! There's a bit of a situation up here. [He thrusts his shield up to block another blow before thrusting the shield up and hitting the cultist square in the face.]

[rashness]

I'm gonna... be right up! [ Or planning to! He can make it. He's certainly making progress - but then the cultist which got thrown overboard catches themselves with their wings and flap up back to the fighting - only to see Rin and try to hassle him off the rope he's climbing. Which makes him falter a little, but he doesn't stop. He just tries to make it up. It's hard though, so ]

[With three cultists knocked out and one overboard, Steve is left to face off against the last one remaining. Armed with an ax, the cultist swings it expertly at Steve which he blocks with his shield and pushes back. The cultist looses his footing for a moment which Steve uses to his advance to lunge forward and tackle the cultist. They collide with the platform and the cultist loses his grip on the ax. Steve kicks it away with his foot before landing blow after blow on the cultist he has pinned down.

With beatings served out Steve rushes over to the edge of the platform to check on Rin's progress. His eyes land on the cultist before zeroing in on Rin.]

You need a hand?

With what, I'm nearly there--! Ah! [ And then he gets yoinked by the tail from that guy. He's getting pulled off, and what's more, tails hurt a lot to be grabbed so that's rude. Not sure of what to do, his instinct kicks in and he wills the cultist to be covered in blue flames. the flames instantly burn away whatever clothing or equipment they have left, but then don't burn their flesh until he wills it when they still haven't let go - which forces them to release as intense burns happen for just a moment and then when released Rin wills them to die down. As the guy is plummeting, it's not clear how much that did or didn't work ]

I'm gonna be right up!

[ And indeed, he will. It's not much longer now ]

[He watches the cultist as they're enveloped into blue flames. He wants to look away but can't manage to peel his eyes away from the sight until after the cultist plummets towards the ground. Well, that was different.]

Hurry. We still need to take out whoever is flying this thing!

[rashness]

Yeah, I'm here! [ And now, with enough distance left he's pretty sure he can manage it, Rin pulls himself up and rockets himself to land on the deck of the ship. Somewhat haphazardly, but... Then he holds himself out for his sword ]

[Steve places the sword handle first into Rin's hand before turning towards the doors that will take them to the pilot.]

Do you have any experience with piloting?

[ Should he? Oh well, he'll just make to follow ]
