This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

Please note that there is a specific top-level comment thread for:

Day 2

I'm gonna-- [ Wait. Both Logan's teaching and Bon's thing about them being friends back at the Impure King come to mind. About how he shouldn't just assume that he can handle it and that's for the best- ]

I mean, you want me to go ahead?

Day 2

[maximoff_girl]

Erm... [That will earn him an uncertain sideways look, still glancing back into the darkness every few moments. Wanda is not a strategist, and she doesn't really... go without being told. ]

If-- that's what you think is best?

[Like many others, she's pretty certain in her "I can take care of myself" footing, but she still prefers to take a non-leadership position.]

Day 2

[rashness]

...Yeah! I'll go ahead and see what it is!

[ And with that, he makes to head off ahead of her. The idea being for her to stay there because, hell, even if he gets hurts hell probably be able to heal it back up. Besides, better him than her? Right? So he goes ahead until he notices... that the water is getting redder. He looks to see- Oh. There's- blood dripping in through a drain up there. That was what was making the noise.

Well that's good. He'll just go back to her--

And then a Shift Hunter appears out of nowhere and tackles him to the ground with a loud snarl of a rotting wolf thing the size of a decent sized pony trying to bite off his head. And him shouting as he is tackled and tries to prevent it from doing that ]

I had to look up info on the Shift Hunters ^_^

[Staying put, she watches him more or less disappear into darkness. She shifts, nervously, from foot to foot, trying to contain her hex aura more so that she can see better.

And then there is shouting. And splashing. She only hesitates a second, unsure if she's supposed to stay put or not. But no-- he never said "Stay here until" or anything like that. So she darts ahead, her jacket flaring out behind her as she runs.

She has no idea what the thing on top of Rin is, but it's intent seems more than obvious. Her hex aura flares to full brightness, as she pushes her hands out, manipulating the chaos magic to send the Shift Hunter flying back, off Rin.

She probably should have killed it. But she wanted it away from Rin before she tried anything like that.]

Rin!

Oh, sorry, I assumed you knew!

[rashness]

[ The Shift Hunter is forced back, because that hex force was kinetic energy. But... it's also not damaged. The dog snarls, and Rin stands in that moment- ] Thank you!

[ The Shift Hunter is about to charge right back, so he doesn't have a lot of time. He can't let it jump onto Wanda, so he makes sure to charge in first. He grabs holds of it's neck, with its jaws bitting down on his arm. He drops his sword in the first place ]

These things don't light on fire! [ Ow, ow. He doesn't know the details, but magic and lasers and anything like that can't hurt then. They can only be killed by chopping off their head, but the bite on his arm distracts him ]

Haha, I am Jon Snow. I know *nothing*

[maximoff_girl]

[Given that Wanda has no blades with which to chop at things, she isn't even thinking about that. She is woefully under-equipped as far as knowledge of these beasties goes.]

... No fire. Got it!

[Rolling her hands as if around an invisible crystal ball, Wanda opts to go the opposite route, drawing the sewage water from up about their feet and causing it to swirl and fill the air about the Shifter. These things can drown, right?

...Hopefully?

She's trying not to submerge Rin's head as well, but hexes can be inaccurate things...]

Yeah, no fire!

[ Rin, meanwhile, is trying to fend the beat off while the water is doing that. He does indeed get sucked in a bit, but pulls his head out and gasps for breath. As for the Shift Hunter... well, it's a zombie dog, so that doesn't seem to be holding it back much at all. Oh, it's confusing it a bit and slowing it down - but it's not struggling for breath or anything ]

[maximoff_girl]

... Water isn't really doing much, either! Can you-- get free? [She has no real idea what to try next. Electricity? There's no way that could fail, given that it's proven immune to two other base elements so far, and the two of them are also currently standing in water! No possible flaws with that plan at all!]

[rashness]

I'm working on it! [ Exhale. Okay, he rips his arm free there, and pays for it with a large chunk of skin and some flesh being claimed by the dog as he jumps back. He roars with some pain from it, but the dog, meanwhile, is already starting to break out of the water vortex thing ]

[maximoff_girl]

[Wanda drops the water-ball hex, as Rin jumps away, switching to the ever present and oh-so-easy to find electrical hexes. Shooting her hands out one after another, her fingers curled in unique and asymmetrical shapes, lightning bolts stab out of the air, not directly coming from her, but looking near enough to it. She's attempting to push the beastie back, or at least keep it from advancing. Zap! Zap Zap! Zzzap!]

[ Rin is not smart enough to realize this... but they are in a sewer. Everything is wet here. So while the lighting is also ignored by the Shift Hunter and it just charges back towards them again it's highly possible that she just electrocuted them via hitting the ground there.

Either way, he mounts a defense against the Shift Hunter as it charge again. A desperate sort of one where the beastie rips open his shirt with it's claws when it pounces on him ]

[maximoff_girl]

[It is the blind leading the blind, then. Or maybe the dumb leading the dumb, as Wanda is shocked off her feet by a back current of electricity through the damp ground. Don't wear metal in your boots, girl! She falls backwards, doing a bang up job of being all round useless without some sort of instruction or battle plan to rely on.]

[rashness]

[ Ugh ugh ugh ugh he's getitng mauled, he can't get a good grip on his sword and- ]

Can you blow up the roof?!

[maximoff_girl]

[She doesn't bother to answer, assuming at this moment the "can" is more of a request, not an inquiry as to if she's able. From her position flat on her back, she throws her arms up and--

boom

The ceiling flashes orange and yellow, as it pushes downwards in a sudden, smallish fireball. Following closely on the fire's heels is the dirt and muck and just-- everything that HAD been above them.

... Wanda had not thought this through. ]

[rashness]

[ No she had not.

Neither had Rin. His eyes go wide as he sees a large piece of stone and concrete falling from the roof towards him and the hunter. He tries desperately to hack at the thing's head with his sword, but his arm isn't totally healed and it's in a bad positive. Despite this, a combination of that and kicking allows him to pull himself out from under it!

Until it grabs hold of his tail with one of it's paws. It's unclear if that's because of planning, or chance, but Rin is terrified he won't get out and be buried for a moment until a large piece of pipe falls on top of the thing's head and makes it yelps back. He scrambles out from it and- and he's go the run-

There's too much falling (the cieling and the metal and stone and concrete and it seems to have partially collapsed some building above and there's blood and mud spilling in from the street and maybe even a few bodies too). There's nowhere to run. And what's more, it's going to crush Wanda too.

So he makes a logical choice- He makes to tackle Wanda so that it'll all fall on top of him and not her. He folds his wings tight about himself as he does this, hoping it won't crush them too ]

[maximoff_girl]

[Wrapped up in each other like they are, things seem to actually start going their way for once. Reflexively, Wanda yelps, and throws a shield out around herself-- and Rin too, given he's right there with her. They're buffeted and rocked around a bit, and a few stones or smaller bits of debris make it through her shield, but for the most part, they are now safe in their own little pocket of air.]


.... oops.

[ For his part, his flames spread out on instinct too - it doesn't go through her shield, but it coats all of him and most of her. The flames won't burn her though, just feel nice and lukewarm. It's blue though, so. And might eat up some of their air, bit it's no big deal. And... ]

I think we got it...?

[maximoff_girl]

[Wanda is scared for a minute, that she's on fire, but when the flames don't hurt, she focuses back on Rin, above her.]

... I hope so. I think we got-- everything.

[rashness]

Y-yeah... sorry I tackled you.

[ You know, now he's out of immediate danger, the fact they are tangled up is a bit more weird ]

[maximoff_girl]

[Tangled up with not many options for getting out of one another's business. She finds it terrifically awkward, though she's not sure why.]

... It's good you did. I don't know if I would have shielded you, otherwise.

[rashness]

O-oh well... good. Then I made a good call.

[ Wait. Wait. ... Wow she's sort of soft okay no he won't do that. He tries to squirm a bit to be less tangled up, but it doesn't work well ]

[maximoff_girl]

... It's not that I don't want to shield you, it's just-- an instinctive thing. Um.

[His squirming is making her feel a bit awkward, and is getting them no less entangled.]

... What are you doing?

[rashness]

T-trying to get us un a better position, uh-

[ And he shifts again, his leg now coming between both of hers- okay that's not good. Maybe if he lifts himself up a bit, but then his back is against the barrier and then against a piece of concrete. So his shifts his hands and- on one of her breasts.

Uh He hurriedly tries to shift his hand off there. ]

[Wanda doesn't have much of a 'personal space' issue, but even she knows that some touching is generally frowned upon. She splutters, and hex-barrier pushes out, grinding and crunching against the debris it pushes out of the way, more dust and smallish rocks falling through, and likely hitting more of Rin than Wanda.]

... H-hey!

[rashness]

[ Oh a rock hit him on the back of his head and he groans a bit- ]

S-sorry! I didn't mean to!

[ In fact, that got him so flustered he'd continued to blank on the fact that his flames could burn away everything surrounding them. He tries to pull away from her again only to have his head (which already got hit by a rock) hit against the ceiling of the barrier and the concrete it was blocking. Oops ]
