This post is for the draftee-only portion of the Zompania draft--the day 3 death, time travel to day 1, and then the events until the arrival of the reinforcements. Be sure to use the above info post for any plotting needs you might have. Enjoy!

With or without the help, I would be honored to meet him.

[Wan smiles as he watches Pikachu curl up. He can they're close. Might as well start the conversation with that.]

It looks like you two have been friends for a long time.

I think there's 'nough room here t' let him out.

[ Oh, but before he does that he smiles a little and nods at Wan's comment. ]

Pikachu's my best buddy. He was the first Pokemon I got when I started my journey and he's been with me ever since.

I've seen a pokemon in luceti before, but he looked like a giant bird. I had no idea there were so many different kinds.

[Because let me tell you, a pikachu looks NOTHING like a swellow.

Show him your pokemon, Ash. You know you want to.]

Yeah. There are a bunch o' different kinds. Here, lemme show you th' other two I have with me.

[ Because yes he totally wants to. After all Pokemon are his comfort and he needs that right now. So he carefully takes two Pokeballs off his belt and opens them. And in a flash Snivy and Charizard comes out side by side in the open spot between the two seats. ]

Meet Snivy and Charizard. [ Shouldn't be too hard to guess which one is which, right? Both of them look tired but they seem to realize that they're not out to battle anything at the moment. ]

[Pokemon are... really amazing. A little weird looking, but amazing.

Thankfully on top of their physical characteristics the naming conventions for charizard and snivy aren't too different from the animals back home. Charizard is Char + Lizard (even if he definitely looked like some kind of weird fat dragon to him) and Snivy was Snake + Ivy (even if snakes don't have arms and legs? Snivy looks way more like a lizard than charizard)]

So your element is fire [He looks at charizard, before turning to Snivy.] and your's is...plant?

[ Charizard nods his head. With the fire that's at the end of his tail it's not hard to figure out. Snivy however doesn't say anything because nope wrong. ]

Close, but Snivy is a grass type Pokemon.

[Pikachu is a lot harder to guess, but his tail does kind of look like a bolt of lightning... sort of. But you know, his era is way before people discovered electricity. So what is lightning, even.]

How many types of pokemon are there?

[fire, air, water, earth... grass apparently...? Is there an animal type? A flower type? a tree type? ...spirit type?]

There are a lot o' different types. Water, Grass, Electric, Flying, Ground, Rock, Dragon and a lot more. And some of 'em have two types like Charizard. He's a fire type but he's also a flying type too.

[Even though he was trying to distract Ash with something positive to talk about, Wan is also genuinely curious, listening intently. He has a lot of questions, like what ALL the types are and why ground is different than rock, but first he needs to address something really important:]

Wait, so... he's not a dragon?

[glancing at charizard in slight disbelief. Fire was obvious, and flying would make sense because of the wings. But even if he didn't look like the dragons back home he kind of figured "giant fire breathing reptile that flies" would make him a dragon.]

[ Ash shakes his head. He can't help but smile a little at this. Not long before arriving at Luceti one of his friends made the same mistake. ]

Nope. He's a fire and flying type. Look.

[ He carefully reaches into his pocket and pull out his Pokedex. He then shows Wan the screen which shows none other than Charizard as well as some information. ]

Charizard, the Flame Pokemon. It is both a Fire type and a Flying type. Charizard's fire burns hotter the harsher battles it experiences.

[Sorry Ash, Wan is now totally enchanted by your pokedex. Which is WAY MORE AWESOME then stuff like showers and kitchen appliances and other "modern" technologies he's encountered in luceti. Not that those things weren't awesome too. But the pokedex? That was magical. ~~In a good way, unlike his journal~~

Yup. Totally leaning in and checking out the screen]

[ Here, Ash will entertain you a bit more with the Pokedex by turning it so the screen is facing him. After a few seconds he'll turn it back around and instead of Charizard it's now Pikachu that's on the screen. ]

Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon, and the evolved form of Pichu. Pikachu's tail is sometimes struck by lightning as it raises it to check its surroundings.

So he's an... "electric" type?

[it wold have been easier to guess earlier given pikachu has a lightning shaped tail but.. he's only heard of "electricity" and not jut "lightning" in luceti. It's still very new and foreign to him.]

That's right.

[ Normally Pikachu would show that but sparking his cheeks but he's still resting in Ash's lap too tired to really do much of anything. Since he hates his Pokemon he never really had the chance to rest like Charizard and Snivy. So Ash just moves on to the last Pokedex entry for his Pokemon. ]

Snivy, the Grass Snake Pokémon. Cool, calm, and collected, Snivy uses photosynthesis to collect energy with the leaf on its tail.

[Snivy gets a smile of approval. So photo-whatever was how plants got their energy from sunlight. Or maybe that was a pokemon thing. Look, science is not that advanced in his time ok. But he still has lingering questions about pikachu-]

What did it mean when it said pikachu "evolved"?

Pikachu evolves from another Pokemon called Pichu. A lotta Pokemon can evolve and grow stronger, like Charizard. He's the final evolution of a Pokemon called Charmander. Pikachu and Snivy can evolve too.

So if it's strong enough one pokemon... can change into another?

[That is so weird.]

Kinda. But not all Pokemon evolve like that. Some o' them evolve from stones, like Pikachu to evolve into a Raichu. Some by tradin' Pokemon with someone else, and some by holding an item. There's all sorts of ways to evolve.

Wow, Pokemon are amazing.

[...totally strange to him, but still amazing.]

So what's it like traveling together?

[He's been isolated in one city his whole life and as far as he knows the rest of the world is filled with angry spirits that want to kill him. Even if he wants to keep Ash talking he also wants to know what it's like to go on a journey like that.]

Traveling together is really fun! You get to meet all different kinds of Pokemon that you've never seen before and meet all kinds of new people and make a lotta new friends. There are a lotta challenges, but no matter what as long as I'm not alone I know that I'll make it. That's why I'm glad to have Pikachu as my partner. And my other Pokemon and friends too.

[Oh, Ash. Even with all of the violence numbing his emotions Wan can't help but feel warm and fuzzy inside.

...and also Really sad, because Ash is too good a kid to suffer through this mess. Not that anyone should, but especially not him.]

I grew up in a city my whole life. I didn't have many friends, but the ones I had were like my family. We took care of each other. Before I arrived in luceti I had to leave and start my own journey.

[of course he carefully omits the part where he had to leave because he was banished for breaking into the royal palace and stealing food because he and his friends were starving all the time. And how this is much less a fun journey and more "a fate worse than death" because he doesn't want to depress him even more.]

Even if things are bad now I'm glad I'm here. If I wasn't then I never would have met you.

[ Ash nods a little at Wan's words. Being alone is always hard but as long as you have someone with you. And even if they aren't and they're in your heart then you're never actually alone.

And most importantly the last words that Wan said. It was nice to hear it, especially after the talk that he had with Cilan after... that moment. ]

... I'm glad I'm here too. I got t' meet you and become friends with you. And other people too. And... this way one of my best friends from home isn't here alone, either. Even if he doesn't want me t' be here and be back home safe instead.

[ He eyes start to water as he speaks but he quickly uses his arm to dry them. No need for tears here. ]

[Oh no Ash don't cry you will make him cry too.]

It's going to get out of this. I promise we'll get out of this.

[Wan will try and smile for him, even if he doesn't feel like smiling.]

After all we're friends now.

["and I'm not going to leave you alone" is left unsaid.]

[ Ash blinks a little. Although he's tired and hurt he smiles himself and nods his head. ]

Yeah. No matter what as long as we have each other and our other friends, right?
