[No, not bad yet, it just means it'll be harder to remove.

Chili takes the canteen before Pansear's done heating it up, so it's just... warm, but not too hot yet! He's washing off some of the blood and making it peel off more easily. So far, so good, right? Less itchy too!

~~Things might go downhill from here.~~]

[ Being less itchy is always a good thing and the water having the bandages peel off more easily is also a good thing! Though the water hitting some of his cuts and causing to sting not so much.

But once this bandage is remove everything should be easier right.

~~'Cept apparently not sob~~ ]

[Chili looks a bit awkwardly at the dressing, tugging gingerly on one end (that's going to sting). Even with the water, it's not coming off so easily...

Rip the whole thing off? It's clearly unsanitary, right? He should, even if it looks like it'll hurt like—]

Forgive me.

[YANK!

It'll come off with one sharp pull, pleasedon'tkickhim.]

[ Uh oh. Ash doesn't like that look that Chili was giving the dressing and the stings coming from him tugging on it wasn't helping either.

But before Ash could say anything Chili had already sharply pulled on the bandage so the sound that comes from Ash isn't words but a very sharp yell of pain. ]

CHILI!

[ The loudest he's been in a while but also upsetting because wow that really hurt. ]

[Pansear was huddled in a corner with eyes shut and paws over its ears, momentarily abandoning the canteen.]

I'MSOSORRY!!

[Chili sounded quite pathetic.

Well, let's look at that wound! Even if we've ripped off a bit of that skin, how's it healing?]

T-the worst is over, though, right?

[Fortunately, the pain should be short-lived, even if it was very nasty!

...... until the water came to wash the blood and can you feel the grime in your skin get flushed out?]

[ Pikachu still stuck next to Ash and looked at his trainer worried because that was a really bad yell of pain.

Ash gives Chili a very pained and uncertain look at his words. It's not over because while the pain from the bandage pull was short live his arm is now throbbing. The remainders of the gash that was starting to close had reopened and it does not look pretty.

Neither is Ash's second pained yelled as the water washes the blood because no no no that hurts ]

Chilii!

[ This one was more desparate then angry because he just wants the pain to stop ]

[Chili cringes, hanging his head. when Ash screams again. He looks quickly, left and right, but there's nothing he has that can help this, is there? Backpacks, they need the straps, bandages, he'll definitely still need them after this, blades won't help this situation!

... he whispers something to Pansear in a low voice which prompts the Pokemon to search the bag, then Chili brings his left hand up to Ash's face.]

Bite down. On my finger, my palm, I don't care, just don't let go.

["I don't want you to lose your tongue" omitted because Ash has been terrorized enough, don't you think?]

You won't have to worry about that arm anymore, very soon. This is it.

[That... was the most discomforting attempt at providing comfort ever, Chili.]

[ It takes a moment for Ash to regain enough composure to respond to Chili but when he does he's also giving Chili an even more uncertain and quizzical look. ]

Wha? I don't wanna bite down on you.

[ And the fact that you're asking him to do that is very unnerving. And your attempt at comfort doesn't help at all. ]

What are you gonna do?

.... apply heat to close the wound, just. [Very stiff delivery.]

Listen to me and bite. Don't let go, it could be dangerous.

[Absolutely every kind of warning flag is flying up.]

If it's dangerous then why do we havta do it?

[ The fact that you're actually telling him that it's dangerous is frightening Chili... ]

Because we've come this far and I can't leave it like that.

[Not even pretending to be calm now, the anger and worry's breaking into his voice.]

Look, do as I tell you, or it could get infected or worse and you might lose that arm. Understand?!

[ Ash was about to make another retort but Chili mentioning that he might lose his arm shuts him from doing so. Instead he deflates and gives a small nod. ]

Okay.

Good... [His voice is lowered again and he's smiling a little.

Remember he said something to Pansear? Well, Pansear just handed something to Chili. Who is keeping whatever it is stubbornly out of view...]

You can lie down, might make it easier.

Um, I'll probably reach better if you stayed close, so my lap'd be fine...

[He's offering his hand to bite, not take all the way over there. It isn't detachable! ~~But also, he really just wants Ash not to see the knife, but.~~]

[ Ash tried to get a look at what Pansear had given Chili but alas to no avail. But the fact that he can't see it is a bit unsettling... ]

A-ah.. okay.

[ This is really weird. But he said he would do as Chili tells him to so he lies down on Chili's lap, careful not to aggravate his injures any further (especially his arm). He wasn't completely successful but at least nothing more than a flinch came from it. ]

["Awkward" is putting it lightly. And there's Chili's hand.]

Bite this if it hurts.

[Not that it's going to make him stop, but, you know, better than cutting your tongue.

Aaand that wound is going to burn.]

[ Ash nods and lightly takes a hold of Chili's hand with his teeth. Except that light hold doesn't last for long because the second the wound starts to burn he bites down to suppress any screaming. This is absolutely nothing like when Charizard comically uses flamethrower on him.

Pikachu is as close as he can be trying to comfort him because it looks like he's in a lot of pain and there's little he can do about it. ]

[Surprisingly, he doesn't make a sound when Ash bites down, even when it happens to break skin. Too focused on trying not to make anymore mistakes, it seems.

It's over quickly, even if the pain is intense all the way through, and Chili hurriedly removes the blade, fortunately not nicking him and somehow managing not to burn his skin either.

It... should be all better now, completely closed up.

Chili just drops the knife beside him and shakes a bit.

Pansear makes a small, apologetic sound while looking Pikachu's way.]

[ Ash takes a moment to recover enough so that he pulls away from Chili's arm. He feels bad for biting down on it so hard but at least he understand why Chili was so insistent. Although the pain isn't intense he can still feeling it.

Once he's recovered a bit more he'll move off of Chili's lap. Pikachu hops over to his trainer before turning to Pansear, giving him a small forgiving response. As long as Ash is okay he'll be okay. ]

Th... thanks.

[Pansear looks down, still feeling bad, because it was the one who heated the blade, after all, but thanks Pikachu anyway.

Chili doesn't even say anything in return, still shaking ever so slightly, until he wipes at his face with his sleeve before finally facing him again.]

I'm sorry... I didn't want to leave it like that, but—

It hurt like hell, didn't it? I'm so sorry.

[Here, he'll bandage it up just in case, alright?

He's put him through so much pain and Ash has already been through too much... what was he thinking?!

He can't seem to fix anything, all he ends up doing is making things worse, but at least just bandaging it should be something even Chili can manage.]

You're going to have to stay down for a while, so I'll take you in after this, okay? You need to build up strength.

's okay. It'll.. It'll feel better soon.

[ Probably not as soon as anyone would like or soon at all, but hey if it means he isn't going to lose his arm then... ]

Eh? Y' don't havta do that. I can find a place to stay and rest for a bit.

[ Because shouldn't you go and find Cilan? ]

[He shakes his head, crawling over to get close to Ash again.]

I'll take you. Don't think I didn't see how you were walking... all you need to focus on is getting better, alright?

[He'll slip an arm under Ash's legs and use the other to support his back. Shouldn't be too hard to carry...

He doesn't have to worry that much about finding Cilan anymore, because he has a trump card! And by "trump card," we mean "magic compass" borrowed from Sailor Mars.]

Ah... So you saw that. [ Not that he was trying to hide it to begin with but still. ] Y-Yeah, I'll try.

[ And so he's scooped up and since he's tiny he's easy to carry even with him holding Pikachu as well. There's no refuting it now even though wow this is kind of embarrassing. ]

[Pansear would've offered to carry Pikachu, but you know, Ash looks more comfortable with his partner there.

It's a little unnatural and a bit awkward carrying him like that, but Ash doesn't weigh as much as he expected him to, so it's not too difficult to carry him. He could even carry on talking a little, at least when they're not in any immediate danger.]

... so... this isn't really a situation you imagined you'd end up when you started your journey, is it?

[He tried.]

[ Ash is always more comfortable when his best buddy is with him. Let's not think about how things would be if Pikachu wasn't......

Although it's awkward it's relieving to actually not be on his injured foot right now. It's really hard to stay off it when you have to keep moving to avoid enemies.

There's a slow shake of the head when Chili asks that question. ]

I never imagined anything like this...

[ Are you sure you're trying Chili. ]

Well, look on the bright side! This is the low point in your journey. It couldn't possibly get any worse, you've hit rock bottom, so there's nowhere to go but up after this, right?

[........ Chili, what even was that.

He's smiling and acting light-hearted, so, there's clearly an attempt here, but it's just... too unbelievable!]
