The Commandant, late day 6

[As the MSF retakes Zompania, the Commandant's troops move through the city and tell the draftees and reinforcements from Luceti that their relief has arrived, and that a troop transport waits for them in the square near the school.

What the Lucetians find instead is the Revenge, perched across several buildings. The ship's running lights through everything into harsh, glaring relief. At the top of the gangway stands the Commandant, hands clasped loosely behind her back, collected as always.

The Commandant has been extremely busy all other days; she has a war to run, after all. But that has also put her in a position to see what real effect the draftees from region 6 have had. Her opinion of the enclosure has taken a definite and much more positive turn. Above all things, she likes competent people, and people who get the job done, no matter how difficult. They have done just that, admirably, and succeeded where the MSF had failed.

(Though heads will be rolling for that.)

As the draftees begin to arrive, she welcomes them personally onto her ship.]

You've done well. We will take you home.

[Quarters might be a little close for the ride, but it will be a relatively short one. And the mess has produced several tureens of coffee and stacks of sandwiches to welcome the draftees aboard.]

Hoshikyo/Hoshiko - Days 4-6

Day 4 - Arrival in Zompania
[Though Kari tried to stick close to those she knew at the start, once they set out on parachutes, it was like a mad scramble to find someone she might recognize, knowing all too well that fighting alone would be nothing short of suicide. But the more she walked around this place, the more it became clear that there may not be anyone left to find. The stench of blood was thick as it hung in the air, and it took everything Kari had to keep from losing her lunch over it.]

[And then she found the bodies. And at that point, she had no strength left to hold it back.]

[Suddenly it was all coming back to her. The sounds of the ropes swinging from the gallows. The soft crackling of smoldering wood. The unbearable stench of decaying flesh. And the look of agony twisted on Genevieve's face as she hung from the pyre, the remnants of her hair still caked with blood and dirt.]

[Kari didn't even realize she had fallen. Her arms were wrapped tightly around her chest as she knelt there in the mud and blood, trying and failing to keep from hyperventilating. But right now, it was all she could do to keep from screaming.]

Day 4-5 - Possessed by the Spirit
[For the rest of the time, Kari spends the bulk of the day by herself, taking on the occasional soldier should they get in her way. Her moves are fast and precise, with not a single move wasted -- like those of a conditioned warrior rather than a fairly well-trained school girl. There's something different, something almost malicious in the way she casually twists her blade into the backs of the cultists she comes across. And as time wears on, it becomes more and more clear that something is terribly wrong. Whoever it is fighting out there isn't Hoshikyo.]

[As her blade cuts down another soldier, she leaps upon his struggling corpse and drives her fiery blade into the base of his wings, laughing as his screams quickly cut off and his body falls limp. She strikes her blade down again and again until there's seemingly nothing left for her to cut, the body burned beyond recognition.]

[It's been so long since the spirit has had a body of its own to control. It had better make the most of it while it can.]

Day 6
[By day 6, the fighting tactics of the spirit possessing Kari will shift, and it will begin to focus more heavily on self-preservation than fighting blindly. Injuries sustained throughout the previous two days are beginning to affect it, slowing down its attacks and ability to flee. At some point a group of cultists will overwhelm it, and unless someone decides to step in, chances are this won't end well.]

[But even with assistance, the spirit won't have much time left, and will thereafter move on to find someone capable of healing -- Kari's going to need a lot of it when her magic finally wears off. She'll be more or less out of commission before the day of the 7th day.]

day 4!

[It's late in the day, and Billy's had enough mental breakdowns to last him a month. People are dead, and more people are dying, and he's finally reached the point of enough is enough, re-entering the fray despite his better judgement. It's because of this that he's flying over the battlefield, shooting bolts of lightning at the enemies in the air, scattering electricity over the ground below to take out as many of the cultists as he possibly can, or at least stunning them enough so that his allies down below can finish the job. He's still against killing - no amount of trauma can change that part of him - but as long as he's not a part of the killing blow, he just... can't fight it anymore. He's too tired of feeling helpless and watching other people die.

His protection and assistance goes to literally anyone who needs it, and the magical light around him is too bright to really see the faces, but thankfully the giant wings of the cultists allow him to easily tell who the enemy is. The light also means that he doesn't see the attacks of them coming at him, either, but he's trusting his forcefield to protect him from those anyway. Hopefully. In theory, it's working.]

Day 4

[Well, he's always wanted a chance to prove he's as strong and capable as his brothers, Being protected by Colan since coming here and doing nothing but making trouble for him really didn't sit right with him. Then, they had to go and send Cilan and even Ash away. It was crazy.

Why would they send a little kid and leave him behind? It wasn't fair on Ash and Chili's ill-won safety made him sick with guilt and worry. He can't just stay at home, stuffing his face, and waiting for news like it didn't involve him.

So the second they announced needing reinforcements, he was there. It's not going to undo the damage of the draft, but maybe it'll make him feel less like weak trash for staying behind when his own brother and a much younger trainer are out there fighting.

Now, it's his turn to jump, The sight of all the blood and wreckage is when the realization hits him, hard and merciless, like the rapidly approaching scene he can't pull away from, just how serious the situation is. Did he make the right choice? How could he even ask that when everyone else has gone ahead of him? He'll have to grit his teeth, choking on bile, and not let it get to him, or Pansear won't do so well either.]

[Silver's trying to keep his own cool, trying not to rely entirely on his Pokemon. If they get hurt or tired out it might not just be a matter of rushing them to a Pokemon Center...all he's got going for him is speed, which he uses to dodge attacks and avoid being seen.

When he spots the other redhead, he recognizes him as a Pokemon trainer-he thinks. That monkey looks like the one Cilan had, right? Except red, not green. So he rushes over, he'll temporarily attach himself to the kid's side...to make sure he doesn't get hurt!]

Sailor Mars Day 4-6

Day Four

[When she's dropped in, Mars hits the ground running, immediately making a break past enemy lines towards where she knew her friends were. The carnage around her, the slaughterhouse stench of death shoved to the back of her mind. That isn't important right now, she tells herself, The living are who I need to find. It takes every trick she knows to make it to her beleaguered friends, from stealth and Senshi agility to lightning quick strikes at weak positions to using some of the magic Helios had taught her for short range teleportation, but eventually she makes it into Zompania proper.

Once inside, she's quick to start looking for her allies, the reason she's here in the first place. Friends can expect a visit from the Sailor Senshi, or if the situation is right, from Rei herself. Before Rin burns up all the bodies, she doesn't go anywhere near street level, instead darting from rooftop to rooftop in her superheroine form but once that's done she'll start venturing down to the ground.]

Day Five

[With her friends accounted for, Lucetians who are in danger become a priority for the Soldier of War. Moving quickly with precise strikes from a bow or pinpoint bursts of magic, Mars does what she can to keep the streets clear and shore up the defenses the draftees have put into place. She deliberately strikes from the shadows as often as she can, using Twila's power to conceal her where the light isn't conducive to such things. Hit and run tactics are her go-to strategy unless she's able to find a more melee oriented partner to team up with, as her hand-to-hand skills are a bit more limited.

As day wears on though, even Mars isn't completely immune to fatigue and grows prone to making mistakes. She's cornered by a pair of Elites with nowhere to run, and though she's able to fell one with the Phoenix Ring Helios gave her for her birthday, her left leg is injured in the process. Unable to walk, let alone get away, she prepares for the worst...]

Remainder of the Draft

[After a timely rescue by a friend, Mars is taken to what passes for safety on the battlefield. Her leg is broken, and that's enough to really take her out of the fight for good. She'll be laid up for the remainder of the draft until it's time to get out, but if she's approached she's still conscious. While she's stuck there, she isn't completely idle, she knows she can't be. Using what enchanting magic she's learned, she'll make o-mamori with various added surprises to help her friends and pass them out to people who're coming and going from the shelter.

And when it's all over? She'll be darn glad to get to the clinic, and home.]

[It was the brilliant red flitting around above the streets that caught notice before the walls of bodies that lined the streets burst forth in flames. After four, nearly five, harrowing days of almost non-stop fighting with little time to rest, Cliff thought for a second that he must have been dreaming. There was no way that she could be around-- her name wasn't on any of the lists...

Looking up against the sky only confirmed his hunch.]

Yo, Mars!

[He called out once he was sure that the coast was clear. Stepping away from the carnage, he lifted a muddy, bloodied hand and waved, grinning broadly.]

You're quite the sight for sore eyes. How did you get all the way out here?!

Days 4-6

[Well, it happened. He got dragged into this before he could find himself a teacher for proper combat, so all he's got are his fists and his Pokemon. He's trying not to look as freaked out as he feels right now, his priority is finding Jeb and keeping him safe.

Of course, that isn't going to be easy, considering how many people there are here. He could try writing to or calling to Jeb, but that'd be just plain too stupid to live. And he's not about to run off alone...Pokemon training journeys are one thing, but this is the kind of war they don't talk about much back home!

He does his best to seek out any allies in the meantime. Ash, Saleh, Jeb...whoever he can find to stick close to. For protection. For theirs, of course! ...and maybe his own. He's not going to chicken out and run away, or half-ass this. He's got to see it through even if it means relying on other people a lot.

I wonder what he'd say. When he was ten he'd sworn to become strong "all by himself" to spite the weakling who'd run away in shame. But by now he's realized not everything can be done alone. Especially this.]


Days 6-7

[Owww. Honestly he's surprised this didn't happen sooner, that he held out for as long as he did. Then again, this isn't exactly an accident...sort of. It wasn't unexpected, but not exactly a planned Heroic Sacrifice either. He'd spent the last few days running, dodging and relying on his Pokemon but eventually the enemy had to wise up. And unfortunately, Silver's lack of experience with actual combat came back to bite him in the butt.

So his broken arm is being treated. Luckily it's not his good arm, but he hopes it'll be at least somewhat useable by the time it's time to go home. He loathes the idea of needing someone to help him dress, bathe and eat.]

[When Kratos spots Silver, all he can do is sigh to himself. He supposes it was inevitable that this would happen, but there had been a small hope inside of him that it wouldn't. That boy is too rash, he's bound to make a mistake--

And Kratos does spot a mistake. Silver's left himself wide open, and there's a foot soldier sneaking up behind him. Kratos is quick to act, sending a spell the enemy's way.]

[Clove never hesitates. From the start, she's ready to go straight into the heart of battle -- and she does.

She relies on her knives. Throwing them for distant targets and finishing the ones that don't die off with a carving knife. It doesn't take her long to get covered in blood.

There's no sense of mercy. Anything that tries to hurt her, dies. There's no thought, just killing.]

[At night, Clove strips down. Not completely, no, but she removes her jacket and her shirt, revealing the two layers of white undershirts that she wears under them. They've already got blood on them from soaking through, but she doesn't seem to care much.

She has bottled water and finds a bit of food here and there for her camp. Which she's sharing with another person or two.]

[Xellos had watched her at work. She was quite good as humans went with her knife work. It lacked a bit of flashiness that he could appreciate, but that might come in time if she proved magically competent and powerful enough. He makes a sound from his hiding place to test just how keen her reflexes and senses were]

Gold | All Days

[Day 4 - Locked to Crystal, Red, and Masaomi]
[After the call to arms by the Commandant, Gold was one of the first to be on board with the reinforcements, having wasted no time in getting his supplies together and going to the rendezvous point.

The ride on the ship was... probably one of the most surreal experiences Gold has had in a long time. Sure, there was that time they all fought in space, but he didn't exactly have much time to really check out the ship then. This time, he made sure to explore, and quite frankly, it was impressive. But none of it left him feeling quite as anxious as the moments before their descent upon the battlefield. He stood by the hatch, waiting for the moment they were supposed to drop, watching the landscape flash by before his eyes, with Togetaro out of his ball and next to him.

You see, while most people are opting to parachute it, Gold doesn't have time for that nonsense. He's going to fly straight in and reach the battlefield as quickly as possible. He glances back to his compatriots that he's teamed up for this mission: Red, Crystal, and Masaomi.]

You guys ready for this?

[Day 4 - Locked to Silver + Gold's crew (minus Masaomi)]
[They were closing in on their position. Gold could spot Silver--or rather, he could spot Silver's Red Gyarados--from his location up in the air. Any moment now they would reach Silver. Any moment now they would be able to save him. Any moment now they'd be able to save him and turn the tide of this battle. Any moment now...

[Day 4 and onwards]
[Once Gold ensures Silver is okay, he eventually breaks off from him and his group and spreads out. Silver's not the only one he has to ensure the safety of, after all. His other friends were out there too, after all. He had to make sure they were okay.]

[Silver's defending a fixed position. He's been doing so for the entire day. Gyarados isn't just a beacon for Gold to see- he and his Pokémon have attracted plenty of attention from the enemies around them, and until now, they've been cleaning up every wave.

Silver's taken to leaning on Gyarados for support, if only for a little while. It takes the weight off of his leg. It would be one thing if they could take a quick break to bandage up, grab a snack, maybe even take the elusive power nap, or maybe even just see how much of the blood on his clothes is his own, but those things are long and far out of sight.

Right now, they've got a few more shift hunters and soldiers to contend with. Gyarados can only do so much to keep his trainer safe and make them keep their distance, and does his best to hide that he needs a breather- any fault is gonna be an opening for these guys.

Should he switch Pokémon? Should he escape for high ground? ...It really would be nice to have some back up right about now, huh... Too bad he can't hold his breath on that one.

This one's gonna hurt. They can't take much more of this...]

Vash | All Days

[Someone fighters may not be pleased to see has answered the call for volunteers is Vash the Stampede. He wants to reach the heart of fighting as quickly as possible. To try to stop as much death as he possibly can so he chooses to parachute in, loaded to the teeth with scanners.

Vash will prefer to stay close and try to protect as many people as he possibly can. Yet, he will end up on his own here and there. For a guy in a bright red coat he's not too hard to keep track of for anyone who wants to stick with him.

Surprisingly, despite using a handgun as his main weapon he's not killing anyone and when he can he'll stop the volunteers, draftees, and even MSF units from outright killing Third Party Members. He does this with amazing skill and accuracy with that gun of his. He won't be shooting anyone on his side to stop them from killing. Instead getting physically in the way. Cultists are not so lucky and will be taken down with impossible accuracy.

Although he's not just here to cause problems with killing the enemy. He has a bag full of supplies he's keeping with him. Full of clean water, food, and medical supplies, as he wasn't sure how readily available those things would be with how bad the fighting seemed to have been getting. Some may be surprised to find that those supplies aren't just for teammates. At times if he finds someone dying on the battlefield he will stop to try to save them. If they are beyond saving he will at least do his best to ease their suffering until they are gone.

He tries his best to keep most emotion off of his face during the fighting. During moments of rest he'll be keeping to himself in whatever group he finds himself with. Glasses on his head even at night. It's his attempt to keep his own emotional baggage to himself. People have enough to worry about right now then how every moment of this was tearing him up inside.]

Day.... 5!

[Compared to almost everyone else who were here just as long as Seventeen, he was skill kickin' with energy. Seventeen continued to fight despite the teared clothes and the filth that covered him. Even the hair was a mess. It all didn't matter to him. Seventeen didn't seem to stop for even a breath. If his foe was simple or equal, it was a matter of time until the foe dropped. That smug on his face when he showed it to his enemy, he seemed unbeatable.

The only time Seventeen was to drop on his knees was only if his foe's energy was greater than his. Energy was unlimited to him, as for pain wasn't. When Seventeen was hit harder than expected, he felt it and would cry out if it was too much. The Elites at least he could tire down, but against a Shifter was limited to his surprise.

Seventeen was against a couple Elites, and they had the upper hand this time. Quickly they banned together against this android as if with knowledge of what he's capable of. Each one batted Seventeen with punches and kicks. The last one batted Seventeen so hard it sent him flying a good distance. Seventeen cried out trying his best to suppress the pain, but it was too unbearable. There he was hit in the air and away almost like a good mile. He couldn't stop himself right now, the pain overwhelmed him. He was on his way to land on his head, and soon would be in range by Vash's sight.]

B'Elanna Torres - Days 4-6

[The entire time B'Elanna serves as a noncombatant. Specifically as part of the engineering team aboard the commandant's ships. Not having any weapons she's staying out if the line of fire unless any cultists happen to make it through or into the ships somehow.

Still, when the draftees start coming in she will be looking for anyone she knows, especially Jim Kirk. She will be asking around about him as well.]

All Days

End of Day 4:

[Being caged in like this isn't making him too happy, and for now, everyone seems to be able to hold their own. He's taking it amongst himself to go out and try to see where all these cultists are coming from. He'll spot the reinforcements coming in, and if it seems that one of them needs a hand if no one else can, he'll be grudgingly flying down to make sure they're fine and so that they don't lose any more numbers than they already have. He's also scouting around the perimeter, taking out cultists forces where he can, separating himself from the main group. Because it wouldn't be Vegeta if he didn't go off and do something stupid on his own.]

Day 5-6:

[Now that he's rejoined the effort in the heart of the city, he's at the front lines taking out more forces. Doing whatever he can to push back the cultists.]

Day 7:

[Now that he's back, he's looking worse for the wear. He's not eaten or slept in a week, and while he might of been fine for three or four days like that, seven is even taking his limits a bit far. Exhausted, he's not even sure if he's got the energy to yell at anyone. Standing up is difficult, and walking even more so. He might need to get looked at, even if he doesn't want it; and will still try making it back on his own without asking for help.]

Day 6

<sub>[ God he had never been so tired in his life. Everything hurt, for a myriad of reasons, some he wanted to ignore with a passion and others he thought he really should see a doctor about, but didn't have the luxury, and had to hedge his bets with Khan's cells (which was a long shot, at best really, he still had no real idea what they had done to him or would do for him).

He had to taken to laying in wait in cover and taking out cultists by ambush, his gun long since out of charge and leaving him with sketchy hand-to-hand tactics and slower reaction times. Except right at this moment he had gotten pushed to the front, and he wasn't sure how, but that was how fights worked, right?

He stumbled, panting, a cultist coming and reaching down, grabbing a spare bit of metal debris and wrenched around in an old-fashioned American baseball swing. Looked like Khan's cells had given him an extra punch as the cultist's neck snapped around. At the same time, Kirk's own stomach revolted and he dry-heaved even he began to try and scramble back for cover... ]</sub>

Days 4-7

[Day 4 - Arrival in Zompania]

[Leaping from rooftop to rooftop? He's done this. Jumping from ledges into the river, jumping from a cliff onto a dragon's back? Done, done, and done. But this? A contraption upon his back that should slow his fall and the ground below him? Instructions to jump and hope this thing keeps him from dying? Were it not for Jack and Eugene's lives on his mind he would have waited, but he cannot, will not let them wait longer. To wait and march in only to fight those that hold the wall would take too much time. Hold too many risks. Teeth grit and blades sheathed he jumps.

He falls.

He counts through the fear coiled in his gut and the drumming in his ears, eyes narrowed against the whip of the wind. With no way of knowing when it would deploy all he has is the smog churning below him to view.

The jerk is unexpected and jars him somewhat, but he has a steady view of the field. Or he would if not for the smoke. Passing through it gives him time to think about how he is to get out of the harness in the first place- when it gives way and he sees a skirmish below him? He readies his blades. The harness keeps his shortswords pressed tight to his back and thus he must ready his daggers. He lands hard on the largest cultist, cuts himself free and becomes a bloody minded thing bent on one goal. Getting into the city.

Throats are slit, tendons sliced as he works his way to and over the wall- not that being within the city offers him any reprieve.]

[Days 4 - 7, all the fighting]

[He searches, he fights. He fights, he searches. He will find Jack, Eugene, and Billy eventually. He will find some word of those he'd come to protect. In the mean time? There are targets that need eliminating, encampments that need defending. Through traps and tripwires and sanguine arts he makes any building that needs to be held defensible and takes a moment to rest before moving on.

There's a coldness to him as he fights. A mechanical mercilessness. There is no joy in battle, no mind to anything other than cutting down the next foe and finding the next weak point that needs exploiting. He rests only when he must.]

Day 6 or something TW: gore, crushed skull

[What terror this hellscape holds is something he had suffered and overcome in the days long past, when his shell had been fragile and soft and he hadn’t regarded mercy as an idea fabricated to separate man from beast. As a weakness. He’s forgotten how to gag at the stench of corpses ripe with decay; he’s forgotten much about what it had been like, a lifetime ago, when the acts of evil surrounding him - thrusting inescapably into his awareness like a knife in the brain - had been anything but banal. But he does remember the day he woke up and had watched a demon dash another’s brains out against the wall – slam slam slam, the head turning bloodier and bloodier as it collapsed and cracked away into some unrecognizable mush - and how he had shaken with laughter at the utter absurdity of it.

His cynicism runs deep, his mind prepared, too prepared, for the monstrosities he might come to see. And on the battlefield is the only place where his brutal indifference to the suffering surrounding him is allowed to exist without resistance. But even here he has felt the eyes of a few others turn on him every now and again, and stare. Staring like he’s some sort of anomaly. Staring, as if he had a choice in how pain had changed him, how life in a place of perpetual hatred and violence would twist him like metal drawn from the forge, glowing and malleable. He’s not sorry it happened.

He had adapted; he had survived. And there’s life in him yet, his face leaner and sharper and twisted into a bloodied snarl. And as he turns, his gaze panning across the ruined city in a moment of hard-earned reprieve, he sees the only man other than Hector who has (had?) the capacity to understand.]

Luke Skywalker, Day 4-6

Day 4-5

[Well, given that he had a bad feeling about this to begin with and an even worse feeling when the call for reinforcements came Luke cannot simply stay at home. While in route, he's more than happy to help the Commandant's troops with their ships, up until the drop-off.

Luke is one of the first people to leap, not bothering with a parachute or anything of the sort. With his powers back, manipulating the Force to enable flight is easy enough, and he lands inside the enclosure with his green-white lightsaber in one hand and Vader's blood red weapon in his left. The sight of all the bodies, the scent of blood, and the chaos is unsettling, yes...but thanks to his training he's able to set that aside, compartmentalizing it for the moment. There's time to process and mourn later, but now is a time for action.

He hits enemy search parties from the shadows, harrying their flanks and causing as much damage as he can before falling back, knowing after Vaskoth that that there's not any chance for negotiation with the cultists. It's war, pure and simple, and peace isn't going to be found here. With the Force as his ally, his variety of weapons and tools, and vast experience at both guerrilla tactics and as a General in the Republic's military, Luke attempts to link up with and organize strike groups, bolster defensive positions, and locate places for the beleaguered defenders to fall back to while they wait for the MSF.

When he has the chance, he'll also try and aid fellow Lucetians with his Battle Meditation, using it to boost allied morale, refresh their minds, and help them focus on the fighting with less distraction.]

Day 6

[Up till now, Luke has been a paragon of Jedi stoicism and calm. But when Obi-Wan Kenobi, his friend and mentor, is slain in front of him for a second time...this changes. Anger floods through him, the Skywalker Family temper flaring up, and the words of Palpatine echo in his mind. Luke knows better than to listen to them, to give in to that dark power for a second time, but that doesn't mean that he's able to block it out entirely.

Luke doesn't rush into fight with his lightsaber as recklessly as Anakin might, though, instead preferring to use other methods of striking back such as cutting the supports out of a building and shoving it onto enemies with the Force or manipulating the cultists into fighting one another. Though, if he is cornered he'll attack rather than defend, often trying to overbear enemies and frighten them off with his psychic power (and the hunting cries of Krayt dragons). Either way, it's a stark change in Luke's general tactics and friends might note something is amiss.]

Day 6

[Deadpool has been in his element for the past week or so, and the profound change in Luke doesn't go unnoticed to Deadpool. If it helped move things along, then that was all that mattered really. It sort of reminded him a bit of when Cable got all super angry about things and went all explodey, though with some differences. The weapons being used were a bit different, but the intent was the same.]

Hey buddy, save some of the bastards for the rest of us, eh?

Day 4

[Teddy drops from the sky without a parachute, instead spreading his wings and angling himself to fly past enemy lines, fighting against the urge to squint as he searches the land from the air. Blue light, that's all he needs to see. Even a flicker. He'd thought to search for the red cape, but with how red the battlefield already is... He can't rely on that.

Come on, B. Give me something. Anything.

He sees bodies littering the ground, and the stench of death reaches him even from this high up. It makes him feel sick, but he pushes it down. It's horrible, and he's sure he'll have nightmares about flying above a pile of bodies for weeks, but there's more important things to think about right now.

I have to find him.]

The Rest of the Days

[Now that he's reunited with Billy, Teddy's got his attention on fighting the enemy forces, helping his allies whenever he can, and surviving. He's not just here for combat, however; whenever there's a lull, he's at someone's side and asking if they're all right, applying medicine and bandages if he can, and offering a bottle of water, all from the backpack he'd brought along. He'd been asked to be a part of the reinforcements, and he's taking it seriously; Teddy knows that everyone's been fighting for days, and there's likely not much clean water around. He's here for anyone who needs it.

It's been so long since he's been in a real fight, but he's been training for something like this. He uses his shape-shifting abilities to the max, sometimes shifting out of his Hulkling form to change into something else entirely, something that could further the fight in his favor. Sometimes he shrinks small, sometimes he turns into something leaner and faster, sometimes he forms shields of rock with both arms, sometimes he shifts his hands to an enormous size to punch a cultist into the distance. And with him having a healing factor that acts fast and takes care of whatever wounds he receives, Teddy doesn't hesitate to throw himself in front of an attack, knowing he'll be okay soon.

He fights and defends and looks for survivors and does his best to ensure that whoever's still alive gets home safely. This is what matters to him above all else.]

Day 5

[The fighting isn't getting any less frequent or brutal. After days of this, after dying and then living and then seeing so many die again, Mia moves through a mental swamp of autopilot. It isn't even good autopilot.

Midway through a localized, intense fight on the fifth day, an Elite chooses her as his target. For a while she holds him off, but it takes too long to realize that he's hidden part of his weapon with a shift. So long, in fact, that he has the chance to drive the invisible but very solid end of it into her stomach, hard enough to take her off her feet and shoulder-first into the nearest wall. She's winded at best, crumpled beside it and with the Elite advancing-

Arrival, Day 4
[The second the Devil Forgemaster drops to the ground, sword hissing free from its sheath, the color drains from his face. Gazing out, he beholds the carnage surrounding the ruined city. He’d expected the scene to be ghastly at best, but what he doesn’t expect is to find himself rooted in place. It isn’t the shifting veil of smoke, the scent of flesh in various states of decay, or the mud and blood of the battlefield that cracks his cool and collected composure. It’s being reminded that he’s no stranger to places such as this. That in another time and place not so long ago, he’d been a cruel general, the mastermind behind hellscapes no different than this.

With the wind stirring his hair and remorse festering in his heart, Hector looks on, feeling for a fleeting moment that he’s trapped in time. As for those unlucky enough to have landed close to him, it’s no difficult feat to bump into him amid the chaos.

Or shout some sense into his ears.]


Days 4-5
[Once Hector rights himself, he charges into the fray and fully embraces his dark, forbidden magic, letting it roll freely off his shoulders and lend strength to his body. Muscle memory is quick to kick in, and his sword strokes are swift and true, the keen steel rarely finding something other than enemy flesh. Fighting dutifully at his side is a devil, either Cain or Gideon, their movements in perfect harmony with those of their master. The entirety of his first day is spent just beyond Zompania’s outskirts, embroiled in the fighting, but going out of his way to protect or help any of his fellow Lucetians. Should he be needed, be it for healing or aid in combat, all he needs to hear is a scream. Preferably one that’s not a death cry.

By evening, he forges into the city in search of shelter to recuperate, tend his wounds, and let his familiars regain some of their much-needed strength. Even here, Hector’s charitable. He’ll open his barricaded door to a handful of Lucetians and give them a safe place to rest or hide. And with an accomplished general and a seven-foot-tall skeletal demon keeping watch, there are hardly better accommodations to be found.

The fifth day finds him injured and moving from building to building, engaging whatever enemy crosses his path, but focusing more on helping his allies rather than the more offensive approach. Taking on a crowd when your shoulder’s wounded is a fool’s venture, after all.]


Day 6
[The past days have been trying—and that’s putting it kindly. Hector has scarcely slept in his two days of service, and his burning, bloodshot eyes are half lidded, his every muscle cramped and aching. Yet he cares nothing for the bloody splotches on his clothes as he limps into the Revenge and settles down for the ride home. Nor does he pay mind to the nagging cuts and bruises the near-constant combat had struck against his body. His mind is filled only with thoughts of a long, warm soak in the bath, a hot meal in his belly, and nesting peacefully in his bed. There’re spaces on either side of him, and if one’s looking for a bit of company, they can find it in the Forgemaster.

So long as they sit down before he nods off, head bowed to his chest and a half eaten sandwich still in hand.]

Arrival, Day 4

[Hope you don't mind a terrified, shaking, teenaged boy quite literally bumping into your side there, Hector. Clearly not a planned attack, too weak to have been intentional.

He stumbles and kneels, sick from the fall, the rank stench of so much blood, and the sight of so many corpses piled high. His only defense seems to be the red-furred, simian creature climbing on his trainer's back, intently watching the Devil Forgemaster, trying to gauge whether or not he's a threat.]

Day 4

[ This is all awful and no matter where Tommy looks, he can't see any upside. He hits the ground running, literally, parachute spiraling off to blind some poor sods. He's got to find his brother, and beyond that, he's not sure what to do. Save people. Do the hero thing.

The Hero thing doesn't work in war. ]

Day 5 - 6

[ It just becomes pretty obvious pretty damn fast that running isn't doing that much. The best Tommy can do is gather their weapons up as he passes, running fast as he can. Anyone wounded can prepare for a green blur approaching, kneeling down at their side and hefting them up. Tommy's not a healer, but he knows where those are.

But as the days wear on, that green gets redder. There's blood in his hair and Tommy's getting more and more tightlipped. ]

[Okay, so yesterday had been... really horrible, that much is undeniable. And Billy spends a good chunk of the next morning and afternoon recovering from that whole friendly-fire-almost-dying ordeal. When he wakes and finally drags himself out of the medical area, Teddy's off on his own trying to save anyone and everyone and Billy has no idea where he or anyone else is.

His throat is still sore from being simultaneously choked and drowned and he's barely slept or been bandaged up, so even he knows he shouldn't be out of bed. Still, he can't help but fret about the same thing happening to Teddy out there, or anyone else who'd joined them on the battlefield- he'd spent too much time unconscious or resting to know who to expect.

Thus, he goes out searching for them. Probably the dumbest idea he's had yet, because it hardly takes any time at all for him to get himself cornered by a group of cultists ready to finish him off. He manages to dodge a couple of their attacks, but blood loss and exhaustion are even greater enemies to him right now than they are, and a coughing fit to clear his aching throat interrupts his attempt at chanting off a teleportation spell, so all he can do is duck under a half-formed shield and pray for some kind of miracle.

Idiot, why the hell didn't you use a locating spell...]

Day 4-Mid day 6

[Day 4][As soon as the reinforcements arrive, Obi-Wan begins making his way to them, to help get them get up to speed and assist them where possible. As always, his main focus is on protecting his fellow soldiers.]

[Day 5-6] [Obi-Wan has continued his previous priorities of protecting the less combat-capable draftees and soldiers and offering assistance to anybody who needs it. Feel free to approach him if you need one more wizard-knight to round out your numbers or watch your back.

After the ship arrives to assist them, he's sure they're home free. Naturally, that's when it all goes wrong.

Obi-Wan dies at the end of day 6]

Late Day 6.

[It's been six long, arduous days, but as the sun begins to set, Obi-Wan once again spots a ship on the horizon. This is no airship, though- no Cultist ship. It looks like a Malnosso craft.

And it begins bombarding the surface, the flashes of light drawing attention to it in the darkening sky. Then more ships begin arriving. And more. And other vehicles, too, off in the distance far beyond the city itself.

They've made it.]

"Malnosso reinforcements. I think it's time to go meet them."

Day 4 - parajump

[For a moment, he wondered when he had taken this particular leap off into insanity.

He's tense with the parachute strapped to his back, a gloved hand sliding up to his ear where the comm link is in place. He can't hear much over the sound of the ship around him, but knowing that he had the little communication piece was something of a comfort right now.

When the alarm blares and the hatch opens, he has to force himself to his feet. There were some in worse shape than him, more nervous than him.

...When did he decide that this was part of his role?]

Day 5

[The fact that he still recognized some faces on the field was mildly impressive; at this late stage in the fighting, few people have the time to clean themselves off or even look halfway presentable in the seemingly never-ending rotations of the guards.

He downs one of the magic restorative potions he had picked up from the Commandant's troops, spying Shift Hunters encroaching on the perimeter. Wonderful how they were being armored now.

It was unfortunate that he knew he couldn't simply hide and leave them alone.]

Day 6

[He looks in on the wounded while he's not taking a turn at organizing guard rotations -- not for specific faces, but to ground him in their current situation. Death tolls had indeed been increasing with each draft they have taken part in, and he wonders how many would be caught by the Organization and shuttled back safely to Luceti when they revived.

The cultists were relentless.]

day 6

[ Another person refreshed and sent back out to the front lines. Then Raine turns, again, continuing to check in on the wounded that were holed up in this area, making sure that their conditions were still stable. Six days out in these conditions and some things were just routine. Though not without the obvious wear all that time has been providing.

It's because of this that she doesn't notice Albert's presence immediately, too focused on those who need immediate attention. Though there aren't that many who need anything new. ]

Day 4

{Lightning leaps from the open hatch of the ship, waiting until it is absolutely necessary to open her parachute. She lands with ease, detaching the parachute from her back. Then her gun-blade comes out, the silver blade matching the silver of her armor.

Time to get to work.

She enters the fray, hacking, shooting and shielding in quick successions, providing the enemy with a difficult target to take down.}

Day 5-6

{Her shining armor is soon covered in blood, mud and things best left to the darkest of imaginations, yet Lightning hasn't relented. She fights passionately, hoping to see some turn in the tide.

When will it end?

Luceti is beginning to resemble Valhalla.

On day six, she shoves her shield against the next band of attackers, missing the sight of a knife in one of their hands. The blade is slipped around her shield and buried neatly in her side.

In a place where the armor doesn't cover her.

The pain shocks her and she staggers back, looking for some cover. She has to get it out.}

Albel Nox

[Organized fighting? Following command ranks? Yeah, screw that.]

[Day 4 + 5]
[Once Albel hits the ground he's running right into the heart of battle, sword out, claw sharpened and ready to tear into some heads. He's not interested in any form of rank and file or following orders from anyone else at the moment. Right now, there are a sea of enemies between him and his destination: that being, get to Fayt and the blonde ape before something else happens.]

[Seriously, what were those two idiots thinking, being drafted without him. It was entirely their fault that this happened.]

[Pity anything that gets in his way, because until he gets to his two companions, he is a wrecking ball that cannot be stopped. He'll be sticking by them well into the fifth day as well, despite what comes then...]

[Late Day 5+]
[By this point, Albel looks very much like he took "bathing in the blood of his enemies" quite seriously.]

[He's sticking by Fayt, if only to make sure he doesn't get killed too, but how he was fighting before now may well have been considering merciful in comparison. Enemies are not just getting stabbed, they're getting torn apart, mutilated, blasted to oblivion, and generally mangled.]

[And Albel has a grim smile on his face all the while.]

[Day 4]

[It won't be too hard for Albel to locate them both, if he looks among the defensive lines. Fayt and Cliff had been sticking close by each other for most of their time on the battlefield, both of them working on reinforcing and protecting defensive shelters and barricades for fellow draftees.

He might very well come across them doing just that and fighting off attackers trying to take down one of those many shelters scattered throughout the city, divebombing the both of them while others work on shifting up the earth beneath their feet into some sort of makeshift barrage.]

Zuko Days 4-6

[Day 4]

Zuko is still helping to clean up the bodies littering the city on this day. He's very quiet and solemn, but at least it gives him a bit of a break from the fighting. It doesn't do any good for his mental health, though.

[Days 5-6]

Injured and exhausted, Zuko is pretty much just hunkering down wherever he can find a place. He's still fighting, but he's trying to avoid it as much as possible. Survival is mostly on his mind now.

Day 4

Itachi approaches the boy silently at one point, offering his assistance with his current load. Were it not for his poor eyesight, he would have been watching Zuko more closely, but as it is he can recognize someone who's not as familiar with death as he is. That makes the brave face the younger man is putting on all the more respectable.

Temari - all days

[This is what she's good at.

Hit the ground running, acknowledge the death and gore and shove it to the side because there's a job to do and she can only help the living now. The dead are beyond her reach, so dwelling on it, even for a moment? Useless.

Temari's best when she's fighting as part of a unit -- a team -- but she's pretty formidable on her own as well. On a team, she's support and she likes it that way. Need someone to watch you back? She's glad to do it.

She's thrust into a primary role more often than not, though, and she attacks with gusto. During later days, she's a little disheveled, sporting a few cuts and bruises... and still attacking with that tight-lipped smirk gracing her countenance.]

[After finishing one of the cultists, Minato appears at Temari's side, his expression calm amid the commotion of the battlefield.]

How are you holding up, Temari?

[It's still a little strange to Minato to be working with a Suna nin given the war he had to fight back home but, he knows Temari's a friend of Naruto (accurately, the Kazekage is a good friend of Naruto's) so he'll fight alongside her when needed. He values this new found alliance and friendship, after all.]

Day 4-6

[Day 4]
[After the bomb had been disarmed, Fayt threw himself back into the battle, seeking out friends and shelters, sticking near Cliff to help reinforce defensive areas and buildings. The bomb was disarmed, but the battle was still tight-- too tight. They weren't going to be taken out by the bomb, but they were still fighting on the defensive. He'll be found splitting his time between defending occupied areas, looking for people stuck in jams, and reinforcing blockages and buildings they've set up as defensive positions, often with Cliff, and perhaps later also with Albel, once reinforcements show up.]

[Day 5]
[Day 5 is much of the same as day 4, though things are getting tougher on the battlefield. Fatigue is weighing on him a bit, which is probably why while helping Cliff reinforce another barricade late on day 5, he doesn't notice the ambush until it's too late....

A short while after, anyone in the nearby vicinity might spot a bright flash of light in the distance, and anyone with the ability to sense it might feel a huge surge of energy being drawn to that specific point on the battlefield. If they go to inspect, however, they'll find Cliff's dead body, bodies of elites scattered around, but no trace of Fayt to be found... though there's an awful lot of feathers littering the ground.

He can be found later in the evening, far from his last position, looking worse for the wear and dead exhausted in one of the less battle entrenched shelter, perhaps even unconscious. Sleep wasn't coming easily, though.]

[Day 6]
[Fayt is, surprisingly perhaps, still trying to help out on Day 6. But he's not fighting well, and he knows it, his limbs feeling like lead and his mind straining from exhaustion brought on by more than the usual combat fatigue. He's trying to avoid heavy combat if possible, but yesterday's events had done their damage, and he might need help if he gets caught in a bind because of it.

Once they're on the board the Revenge, though, all bets are off. Fayt can be found in the mess hall cradling a cup of coffee like it's a lifeline, but he's not really keen to talk to anyone at the moment.]

Day 5

[He'd been at it for a while. But then suddenly, out of no where, he feels this massive surge of energy, nothing like he's ever felt. It feels different, not like the power of his own homeworld, but strange. A power he's felt before here.

No. No, it couldn't be. There's no way he could be doing that now, not here, he'd barely gotten enough training to activate it on his own, let alone give off that kind of energy...

Unless...

Vegeta fears the worst. It's happening, the one thing they'd been working on trying to prevent is happening. He can't let it happen. Turning, he doesn't even bother to finish killing off the cultist he was fighting, eyes wide with horror. They were all going to be erased, wiped from existence, no death, nothing, just a sudden non-existence. He transforms, flying as fast as he can toward Fayt, a yellow streak in the sky.

He's got to get there now or they'll all be doomed.]

[Day 4]
[After being informed of reinforcements, Seventeen headed back to the sky to find anyone flying to inform them of the retreat plan and safe return. He's not really in the mood to fight any of the cultists at the moment. But hey, if he happened to find one of the reinforcements or draftee in danger, he'd give a helping hand. He'd also help guide the drafees to a safer location.]

[Day 5-6]
[Seventeen will be up in front firing non-stop ki blasts. He makes sure to spread out his blasts getting some good yards. He shows no sigh of slowing down either. The only troubles he'll be having are from the Shifters with only a handgun.]

[Day 7]
[Finally it's over. Seventeen's back in town with a now sleeveless white shirt, torn pants, and a ruffled bandanna, or at least what's left of it. He's holding his right arm in the meantime. Go ahead and ignore it, it's probably nothing.]

Day 4

[Eleanor volunteered with the rest of the reinforcements, and when she hit the ground was in full 'battle' gear, that was her heavy, reinforced diving suit and wicked syringe-spear. She hadn't worn them in weeks, and yet the weight was comfortable...especially given the fact that for the first time in ages, she didn't feel like she was being held back by the power dampening inside Luceti.]

[It was enough to make her smile, really. If only for a moment, before she was throwing herself into the fighting, looking for friends she knew had been in the first wave.]

Day 5-6

[Eleanor was a bit worried to realize how easily she fell back into habits and patterns she hadn't even realized she'd picked up in the first place. Rapture was a war zone, a constant struggle to survive, to make sure the other guy died before you did, and she could feel that same need returning so easily here.]

[Which is why she kept forcing herself to pull back when she felt like she might be falling too easily into the motion of fighting. When killing a man felt less like a burden and more like a victory. She fought violently and viciously and mercilessly...and then teleported back, to find some quiet place adn sit for a little while, until she was needed again. Or just to try and get a few minute's sleep.]

Day 7

[Before they're sent back, Eleanor can be found collapsed against whatever looked able to prop her up, her helmet in her lap and her syringe-glove pulled off and resting on the floor next to her. She's a tired, sweaty, exhausted mess, with dirty hair and a filthy diving suit, but at least it's over.]

Day 5?

[Elizabeth has been fighting at less than half capacity ever since the infiltration. Days of being siphonless have left her a near basketcase, not to mention she's just exhausted from killing cultist after cultist. She's been moving from building to building inside the city, trying to recover, but it seems as though every time she tries she's discovered.]

[In this most recent skirmish, Elizabeth breaks out of a window on the second floor of a house, barely making it to the ground alive by opening a tear to an awning on a neighboring building. Once she hits the ground, rolling, two cultists come out of the house and descend on her. She empties her gun into the first one, but that still leaves the second.]

[Days 1-4]

[For the first several days, Asch is all over the place and looking surprisingly at home in the battlefield. It's been a long time since he's been out in the fray, and there's something undeniably therapeutic about taking out his numerous frustrations on people who are trying to kill him. He focuses his attention on the wings of the soldiers, tearing through the visibly exposed weaknesses whenever it's possible and ignoring the screams and the blood that resulted from it; there's a very good reason he'd earned the nickname Asch the Bloody, and it wasn't just because of his hair.

Early on during the battle he'll be very much the lone wolf, a force of habit that's hard to shrug off, running left and right and only coordinating with others when it's convenient or required. It helps that for the most part, those days were relatively tame due to them still working around the city instead of storming in the front gates. Once the bomb is disarmed and the cultists begin to target them more aggressively, however, even he has no choice but to avoid running solo. Especially considering the fact that, by then, his body is starting to wear down.

He's been taking advantage of the fonic link to check on the situation near his replica on and off throughout, finding it to be a convenient communication method for coordinating with his allies across the field, but some time in the middle of the draft, he begins to use it more, shouting orders to those who looked like they needed leadership, directing additional forces to wherever they were needed, calling for support if his area wasn't doing well. It seemed to be working out pretty well for everyone involved. And then-]

Day 5]

[-He'd only just cleared out an area near the back of the town, and has opened up a channel between Luke's group and himself, when suddenly everything goes sour. Maybe it was the dissonance (he'd been getting painful twinges in his heart all day, but it hadn't gotten him killed yet so he hasn't stopped), maybe it was his injuries (the ones he couldn't get healed because healing artes didn't seem to work properly on him anymore), maybe it was just ordinary exhaustion (because how can you sleep when the world is in constant, deadly chaos all around you?), but one of his last artes misfired, and a group of cultists he'd assumed were taken down still lived and were waking up. armed with spears and crossbows, it doesn't take them long to recover from the spell and make their own counterattack.

Asch the Bloody becomes a good deal bloodier at that point.]

Day 5

[By day five, Yu was dead on his feet, and was at the point where he was hiding out and trying to recover more than actually fighting. It wasn't just the physical strain of trying to wield the sword he had procured from a fallen enemy, nor the mental stress of having his Persona active far more and far longer than he was used to.]

[He had fought monsters in the TV. He had chased down a murderer and smacked down a god. He had never been in a war before, and he knew that was a large part of why he was so exhausted.]

[Yu just had to do what he could; he kept telling himself that if he did what he could, then this madness would be able to end that much faster, and he could get back to his cat-filled house. That was why he was still pulling himself through the battlefield. That was why when he saw a flash of red disappear under the assault of some cultists, he was able to spring into action. He raised his hand without a second thought, calling on his own Fool Arcana.]

Izanagi!

[The banchou coat wearing Persona appeared as always, and a hail of lightning descended on the cultists before the Persona dashed forward, its massive blade ready to chase off -- or finish off -- anyone that was dumb enough to stick around after that. Yu darted forward in the meanwhile, carefully skirting around to avoid the cultists and stay out of Izanagi's way to get to whomever it was that they had been attacking.]
